So funny! Interaction between both boys was cool. Near the end, I thought the father catching them would say something but didn't! I guess it was ok because they're both Jewish....... "I'm not gay...." !!!!!LOL!!!!!
The boys are adorable and fine acting, too. What I find most remarkable is the absurdity and pretentiousness of the adults and the honesty and authenticity of the boys. I hope I am always young at heart. I never want to grow up to be like the adults in this fine film.
this was just brillant. I love how dreadfully awkward the boys were, how uncomfortable the conversation got with the parents, and how fake, yet somehow so real everything seemed. The age of the actors, in my opinion, just made it all the better and comically awkward. In so many films everything seems so easy, like you just know exactly what to do when you start questioning everything. Your film made me laugh, smirk, and feel dreadfully sorry for poor William. Great work!!
What a great little film! The adults were partly believable and partly absurd, which was fun. The boys were endearing to me; I loved how William was so nervous and nearly hyperventilated when kissing Virgo. The echo of Virgo's "This is so cool" when kissing, by William's "This is so cool" when being fellated, was delightful and rather actually sweet. I laughed out loud at, "I'm not gay... give me your number!" And I cringed when William's father walked in on them. I really entered into this whole scenario, and found it very satisfying. Many thanks! :)
This is one of my favorite short gay videos. I saw this several years ago and fell in love with the [rather ingenious] writing, directing and acting. Personally, I think this could easily have been made into a much longer -- full -- movie or even a multi-part serial.
I love this film, it’s one of my favorites and I watch it frequently. I love how William is practicing urging Virgo on the whole time and keeps saying how cool everything is yet still denies he is gay. Plus the whole awkwardness of the situation really adds to the humor.
Too funny! So well done. I loved the near-crackling electricity between William and Virgo leading up to the kiss. So good. And it’s great to actually have a good comedy in the LGBTQ genre. Thanks for the early morning laugh. Have a good Passover!
this is funny and coolest gay film i ever watch. honestly the actors and actresses are great, people always looking for the looks of actors duh i don't care if they look older in your eyes but for me i do believe what the writer, director and all staff trying to figure to make this film.
I really liked this short film, and the young actors did a terrific job in capturing the subtle body language and facial expressions that made their acting seem more true to a real life interaction taking place. I especially think Chris London displayed exceptional acting skill.
OMFG I swear I love it! Believable characters and cast. Adorable connection between the lads. And ending open to a few directions. How will the orthodox dad deal with William? How will the lads go on? What will Virgo's parents say if they know, given their more liberal and open-minded version of Judaism? Totally deserves all those awards!
Funny short film! I find it a bit strange that viewers criticize it for lack of realism, when realism seemed obviously not the primary goal. The adults were having a comedy of manners, sort of, while the adolescent boys were having a comedy of awkwardness & hormones. Besides, the truth underpinning the scenes was never lost sight of. Both upstairs & down the people were mildly caricatured. Like the way the adults glossed over their theological differences and how William couldn't have video games or watch TV but had Morse code! Virgo's mom: "This was lovely." William: "I'm not gay! Give me your number!" Our sought-for reaction: "Yeah right" with an understanding smile. How human!
Love this film.........so much tongue in cheek.....the acting by the 'teenagers' was fantastically weird and amazingly dad says nothing at the end......hahaha!
i was drinkin water when she said "i hope it rubs on william" and i was lmao spit the water all over and almost on the computer haha there was sum rubbin involved with his mouth haha... i love the parts of "i'm not gay" gets kissed and he says "write your number" and of coarse "this is so cool" while gettin a b.j. haha but I do agree the older guy shouldve been played by an actual 17-21 actor instead of a 26 yrs old cause he sure looks old. I think it's funny that the dad wants his boy to stay kosher and well it can since well both boys are jewish haha
that was one of the most true to life short films I think I've seen in a long time. cute awkwardness, still being afraid of who you are and coming out to yourself... which to me coming out to yourself is often harder then coming out to the person you most afraid to come out to I.E. parent, friends, whoever. I can see his family taking a little more time to deal with it but it's clear to me his mother loves him his dad may need more time but it is just fear and when his father can let go of the fear he can deal with who his son is. and his d and d should be happy too his first probable boyfriend would be of the Jewish faith lol
My friends and I discovered this film when we were in high school. "This is so cool" and "It's not a burqa, it's a poncho!" were running jokes for years
Brilliant. Hilarious. First class. A wonderful piece of film-making, some technical hiccups but otherwise pitch-perfect at almost every step of the way. Comedy looks easy but is hard to do - here's it done very well indeed.
I like that it was a lot more believable, at least to me, than a lot of other "coming of age" films. In so many coming out films, you have the boy whose dad flips out. William's dad genuinely surprised me at the end, in a very good way.
LOL @ "Your son seems like a nice boy. Maybe he'll rub off on William." Meanwhile, William is getting 'rubbed on.' The 'look' William and Virgo exchanged @ 13:09. There's a lot more rubbing off in both their futures.
Great short film. The actors who played William and Virgo did a good job. This is very funny but poignant on how nerve racking Coming Out can be. I can see a feature film version of this being made. Virgo and William are cute together. Be still my heart that kiss 10:34 is SO SWEET =D
It wasn't exactly a comedy, but as a little film about two awkward teenagers just finding out about their sexuality and one of them deciding he'll try the gay option and decides it's for him, it was really well done, with some great lines.
I would like to thank you for sharing this truly remarkably amazing film. I found it to be an amusing and uplifting piece of workmanship. The actors were all wonderful, along with a great script. At the end I was elated with emotion. Thank you for a most enjoyable and unexpected experience.
It's about time I watched Shabbat Dinner. I didn't know what to expect going into it, can't say I would've guessed how it would turn out! I can't fault the acting.
The actor playing William reminds me of Morty from the “Rick & Morty” TV series. Not just the same voice, but also the same manner of speaking, inflection, hesitation, etc. Also the looks and the haircut are pretty much the same too.
Oh please do a sequel to this short film maybe since the actors are a bit older you can set the setting them confronting their parents about their sexuality or something like that ... Its just - this is way too good to be left alone with .... I absolutely adore this short film !
I like how at the end of the dinner, Virgo is playing with William's food. A nice sarcastic detail. The film is good. Not extraordinary, but good nonetheless. I like the tongue in cheek humor.
"I'm not gay. Give me your number." Hahaha, so adorable. I loved it!
Kelly Fries that part was the best! Lol
"Look dude I'm not gay"
*kisses*
"write down your number"
😂
Kisses, gets a bj then reiterates "I'm not gay. Write down your number." LOL
I needed a good laugh today. "I'm not gay" *peck on the lips* *pause* "write down your number"

Fucking same
No homo tho hahahaha
So funny! Interaction between both boys was cool.
Near the end, I thought the father catching them would say something but didn't!
I guess it was ok because they're both Jewish.......
"I'm not gay...." !!!!!LOL!!!!!
Downstairs: “Maybe he’ll rub off on William”
Upstairs: “This is so cool!”

Bill Michael >>> You’re right. Being old sucks. It’s disgusting and horrible. Probably far horribler than you can possibly imagine.
God I thought they were both ugly. Good acting, but ewww nope couldn't do it with either one. Woof woof lol
@@gageoliver2186 I guess I find a broader range appealing.
@@GarethJefferson Well, I'm 79 and my bf thinks I am the best looking man he's ever met
So true; you can age yet retain your youthful air. Be child-like always.
"I'm not gay....
... Write down your number"
HAHAH LOL THAT GOT ME 😂

The scene with the boys alone is SO real! The desire mixed with fear and denial.
"maybe he'll rub off on William"
He did
timing
To the father's relief... they are both jewish.
LOL

I almost had a heart attack when the father came in & saw them !! nice short film :D
I love this film, it’s one of my favorites and I watch it frequently. I love how William is practicing urging Virgo on the whole time and keeps saying how cool everything is yet still denies he is gay. Plus the whole awkwardness of the situation really adds to the humor.
This was terrific. The boys pulled off the awkward starting dialogue great. Funny and entertaining. Thanks for this.
Really great short film !

To quote the mother, "Well, that was lovely!"
I really liked this short film, and the young actors did a terrific job in capturing the subtle body language and facial expressions that made their acting seem more true to a real life interaction taking place. I especially think Chris London displayed exceptional acting skill.
Loved how the dad was all "we must be a certain way" until push came to shove then it's "But I love my son" haha. Sweet sketch
Wow! this was so good.
I love the directing and editing.
Also Shaked and London can truly act!
Chris London was so real and emotional.
I loved it!
Yeah, I don't understand all these negative comments on the acting - they were very good.
this should be expanded into a full movie!
Finally! Normal looking people in a "coming of age" story.
OMFG I swear I love it! Believable characters and cast. Adorable connection between the lads. And ending open to a few directions. How will the orthodox dad deal with William? 12:38 "Look man, I'm NOT gay... write down your number." lol
Kevin Young : You know why he asked for his Number ? His hand was starting to hurt !! A hot Mouth is Heaps better & you Blow More LOL
Yeah that was hilarious
If you had headphones on, in addition to the heavy breathing, you could also hear the scrambling hormones racing thru them.
Omg i nearly died when he asked for his number 😂
The acting was perfect!
Roteiro maravilhoso e direção inteligente. Atores adoráveis! Amei!
Love this film.........so much tongue in cheek.....the acting by the 'teenagers' was fantastically weird and amazingly dad says nothing at the end......hahaha!
Loved this. So quirky and realistic, cute and funny.
So funny! So sweet! So much innuendo!
OMG that was so cool!! They was so nervous you could actually feel how they felt
"Well that was lovely" 😂
I got the feeling they would hook up and the parent would walk in.. didn't think it would be the jock dad 😅😅😅
"Im not gay" - but give me sloppy 🤪 😂

If I am ever having a down day I will watch this again for a lift.
Totally hilarious!!!
"Dude you've got balls to ask that..What if I kicked your ass?"
I would love to see this into a series or a longer short film. if that makes sense lol. maybe do a kickstarter......
Kane22ize we've thought about it, it would be great! Although the actors are older now, so it would have to be a different story.
Everything is Film i would love to see that!
Everything is Film Me too!

On The Mark! A real feel good short, Thank you Mr.Morgenstern
It says, this is comedy. hehehe, the punch line is at the very end when the mother says, . . Well, it was lovely!

the Actor playing the not Gay part / plays his part very convincingly . . .
Well, I'm not gay after all. ;-)
Great acting!
I watch this EVERY time that I stumble upon it. Could have been a great tv series or full length movie too.
“So what does Virgo mean?”
“It means my parents are aging hippies who want to live in the 1960s forever.”
Outstanding film. Very real depiction of a first encounter!
I love seeing something that I can relate to 😍☺️
I know that this is over 10yrs old, but is so damn cute 💜🌈🌼💋❤️
Well, that was lovely.
Wow I absolutely loved this :) I was squealing from all the awkward and just ahh it was hilarious and adorable and I'm so glad I watch it :)
Apparently I've been playing Trivia wrong
lol
LOL....me too~~
I laughed my ass off at this film. This was well written. Gotta include me in the next episode...
bro, this kid and his heavy breathing
The mothers line at the end was perfect.
Second time watching this film. Just as Good as the First! 💙💙💙🎉🎉🎉
So much awkward tension I LOVE IT
i cant help but laugh throughout this film. The boys are just adorably awkward.
thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Fr I love it so much it's so cute ❤️
In the middle of the bj... "This is so cool!"
That was excellent! I just keep laughing.
Like actual teens XD
I really enjoyed this very clever and breath of fresh air little film . Great job..

Walt Walters unfortunately, that was probably just until the door closed. William’s dad didn’t strike me as the tolerant type.
Great storyline and these 2 guys are cool playing each role hehehe
what a great short film!!
Incredible. Beautifully done. No sequel? Those two teens were so natural about it.
Well done Michael, lets keep working.
I love the aesthetic so much !

Who wrote this? It's so funny.
This MUST be based off true events, because it's so real and authentic aND genuinely hilarious that you couldn't make this up!
I loved the barely audible little whimper during their first kiss. So cute.
William has a very attractive personality.
Good short film.. thanks
i just love this ..there has to be a sequel !!!!!
we've talked about doing a series. it would be pretty great to make one!
From our conversations, it seems like the only thing stopping us from making more is money and time.
Very cute short flim, loved it. That Virgo was a cutie and so easy,LOL.
I loved it.
It told a most intricate story in so little time. I enjoyed it completely and got plenty of laughs as well.
thanks so much, glad you liked it!

I like how at the end of the dinner, Virgo is playing with William's food. A nice sarcastic detail. The film is good. Not extraordinary, but good nonetheless. I like the tongue in cheek humor.
loved this 😭
it was funny and realistic and i like the line about him asking for the guys number!
I smiled throughout the film and laughed at the end. Good stuff! Thanks for posting.
this should be a feature length film!
