I know this isn't asmr, but this is the short film that I wrote and directed when I first started this channel. Many of you have asked to see it, so I thought I would put it on here. Many of you have been with me on the journey from production, to post and to festival circuits... so I wanted to bring it home to you guys. 🐝 I hope this film touches you in a way that reminds you about love and friendship. I loved the visual usage of flowers to show the audience who belonged together. The details in the dialogue enabled me to become invested in the characters and the story. It reminded me of my own experiences as a gay youth. I enjoyed it very much. The only surprise for me was the lack of a kiss with Eddie since that seemed to be an important plot point regarding Madeline.
I somehow stumbled upon this film, and I must say, you've done an incredible job, Mr. Romantic and Sensual! I'm actually running late for an important business meeting because I couldn't tear myself away from your work. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for your future projects and learning more about you and your creations. Stay blessed... Much love from Pakistan!
I don’t normally take time to comment on short films even when I like them but this concept of love and flowers and how you portrayed it in this film was no other than perfect and I feel I needed to state that great job.
He was 3 years older and straight, i was gay and 12 years old and we had a connection that led to something special but ended when he graduated high school. My most cherished memories ❤
Yall why isnt this already at like a million likes??? Whats this blasphemy? But fr, this is probably the most beautiful short film ive ever watched. I love the analogy about flowers, the sun scene where theyre all complimentary flowers. I deadass screamed when the one with the plainted nails was sunflowers cause Josh was daisies. 10/10, love it, will cry to it again many times.
BRAVO! BRAVO! Cast and crew, so very well done. Very satisfying to see a happy ending. Would love to have seen the boys kiss at the end, but that's just me.
I so longed for something like this when I was young. I am very appreciative this is here for future youth, adult and elderly. My hat is off to all in this project and a simple but massive thank you. You made an old man feel hope for what will be your future. 💜♥️🙂

So sweet, so delicate and so touching !!! Thanks for this great work, well produced and well interpretated. Everything is almost perfect : scenario, light, music. Wonderful job. I just miss the final kiss but this would have been too much I guess because of all the poetry lead by the flowers allegory
I had every intention of watching this when it was released for members only, but life got in the way. I finally got to watch the whole thing, and I just wanted to say.. I absolutely love it. Awwwww...that was super cute, sweet and touching. Very nice job, Nick, by you and your actors. It reminds me a bit of that lovely short "In a Heartbeat." SOOOO nice to see hope, love and friendship depicted for kids, and older people, for that matter. The heart wants what it wants.

Such a wonderful portrayal of that time in life in as in adolescence. When I was an adolescent you'd better Not ever ever put your head on anybody's shoulder If you were a boy. I had a girlfriend, and I liked her but I'm not so sure, if I gotten married if I would have been happy. I like the subtlety of this short film in the confusion that we all experience at that point in our lives.

I feel guilty because I actually watched it a year or so ago when you emailed it to some of us, and I always intended to write to you, letting you know how much I loved it and how much it affected me, but I was overwhelmed with thoughts about it and then time passed and it never happened. Nick, I really liked your film. I don’t think I ever got to see it completed. I really liked it and especially the party scenes, what a fabulous house. 😂
It's beautiful, especially the wearing of the flowers to be your true self. I'm reminded of my favourite film God's Own Country, where Gheorghe was the embodiment of Daffodils and Johnny was Lavender.
Amazing. I watch loads of excellent LGBTQ short films on RUclips, but this is only the second time Ive said this - this needs to be a full length film or series on Netflix or similar, its that good.
I have two suggestions for other gay shorts on RUclips: If you type in "Violin gay short" a short German film will come up. It's very good and has good production values. The other is a Norwegian short called "Waves"-type in "Waves gay short" in the search bar of RUclips. This one is very good and has a lot of nuanced ambiguities that make it interesting. Enjoy!

I very much enjoyed this. only one tiny moment felt a wee bit pushed, but I'm a stickler. Lovely, made me glow with happiness. I will remember the flower allegory!

@@nicksrambleasmr I bet most would not agree with me, but for me that moment in the plot is at 14:41 when Eddie is angry and despondent to Josh. After the lovely moment when Eddie cleaned the lipstick off Josh's mouth, and got a winning smile from him, I didn't understand why Eddie would be so angry at Josh, rather than at Rob who was the assailant and ass. I just rewatched the scenes around that and I think I missed the line, "Because you invited me to this party AND THEN YOU ABANDONNED ME..." That phrase is key to Eddie's upset and it went by very fast. Also, he didn't seem abandoned when he cleaned Josh's lips and got a warm accepting smile, so the turn around didn't make sense to me. Had Josh said to Rob something like, "We're just friends" that would have justified Eddie's upset more clearly. I experience tells me that most watchers (who aren't directors themselves) won't have the same feeling I did about that one moment. I Loooooved the fantasy moment when they were both covered in flower petals!!! The casting was well chosen too. and I liked the lesbian characters being part of the story. When I was in high school and not yet out to people, it was a lesbian classmate who gave me the immense grace of opening everything up and welcoming me to openness and being out. An act of grace.
It was so reminiscent of my youth when I knew who I was to become but wasn't ready yet..I had this one friend that I ADORED but we were in a boy's school and jut putting my head on his shoulder would have a sacrilege. I believe, rightly or wrongly, that he felt the same, but we never explored it..and I still reminisce after 45 years. Not that he was the man of my life, but about the sweetness we had but each in unspoken words.

SPOILER ALERT. Josh and Eddie were "matched" in gardening summer camp, and on some level they knew it. They were two, cute, likeable, innocent, virgin lads who were different about their self presentations in society yet the same about their sexual orientations. It was bold of Josh to befriend Eddie, the openly gay lad, and bolder of Josh to invite Eddie to a sleep-over. Josh had two pillows on his single bed, a sign of his expectations. Josh's mother knew that he and Eddie were intimate friends, so she told him they could not sleep in the same bed. Josh overcame his awkwardness and came out to his classmate, Madeline, and then to Eddie under the giant tree. It was the perfect moment for Josh and Eddie to give and receive their first kiss from each other. In an imagined sequel, the mental, emotional, physical and sexual intimacy between Josh and Eddie escalated rapidly after their first kiss to satisfy each other's natural needs and desires and relieve their urges and tension. After giving each other all of their v-cards, Josh and Eddie sort out who will be the feminine partner and who will be the masculine partner in their open, committed, same-sex relationship. Excellent film with the message, be yourself, be friends first, then be lovers. Both of the lead actors were outstanding.

What an interesting character Rob was. Potentially very good actor, also. Would watch more of this story if that character was central.
