One thing that needs to be understood is eating for the sake of survival is not wrong but eating for sense gratification is absolutely wrong. When we have no choice then you are not eating for pleasure it becomes a survival instinct but when we have option then choosing for our taste is wrong.
Also talking about plant eating and all if one particular fruit have even 10 seeds then each seed planted can give 100 of fruits so it will always double up and give usus, whereas an animal can never be doubled up! It cannot be planted. Understanding the nature of the world and the concept behind it is extremely important.

After seeing the horrors of poultry and dairy industry, just didn’t feel right to eat non-veg. It was bloody hard initially, first couple of months I would crave for it badly but I would recall all those videos of animal cruelty and craving would disappear. Fortunately wife also gave up non-veg with me. Since then not only do I feel better mentally n physically, I also feel a certain sense of calmness and my temper has increased a lot. Life changing decision 😊 I do feel bad for my earlier self, but at least better later than never.

Those who care about their health, who believe that animals deserve the right to live a life free from abuse and slaughter, who care for their planet and other humans will go vegan. Vegetarians are animal abusers. That explains why India is one of the largest exporters of beef in the world. The dairy industry supplies the beef industry. When they stop producing milk after 5 or 6 years the cows and buffaloes are either abandoned on the streets to die or get sent to the slaughterhouses to have their throats slit. Ruminants are huge emitters of methane too. So it it is high time vegetarian went vegan to save themselves, the planet and the animals.

Being a non-vegetarian offers several potential benefits, both nutritionally and culturally. Animal-based foods like meat, fish, poultry, and eggs are excellent sources of complete proteins, containing all the essential amino acids that the body cannot produce on its own. These proteins are crucial for muscle development, tissue repair, and overall body function. Non-vegetarian diets also provide vital nutrients such as vitamin B12, iron, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids, which are more easily absorbed and utilized by the body when sourced from animal products. These nutrients support brain function, immune health, and energy levels. In addition to the nutritional aspects, non-vegetarian diets often offer a wider variety of flavors and culinary options, contributing to cultural traditions and food diversity. Many people find that including meat and fish in their diets makes meal planning more flexible and satisfying, especially in terms of taste preferences and satiety. However, it's important to consume non-vegetarian food in balance, focusing on lean cuts and healthier cooking methods to maximize health benefits.

Sri Caitanya said: Cow killers and cow eaters are condemned to rot in hell for as many thousands of years as there are for each hair on the body of every cow they eat from.
In the Atharva Veda VIII.6.23 we find: Those who eat cooked or uncooked flesh, who eat eggs and embryos are following an evil addiction that must be put to an end
In the Mahabharata, Anusasana-parva, 115.43 -116.45 we find: That wretch among men who pretending to follow the path of righteousness prescribed in the Vedas, would kill living creatures from greed of flesh would certainly go to hellish regions.
In the Manu-samhita, chapter 4, verse 162 we find: A guru, a teacher, a father, a mother, a brahmana, a cow and a yogi all should never be killed.
Even in the Old Testament of the Bible which applies to both Christians and Jews in Issaih, chapter 66 verse 3 we find: He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man. He that sacrifices a lamb is as if he slit a dogs neck, he that offereth it as an oblation is as if he offered swines blood, he that burneth it as incense as if he blessed an idol. Yea they have chosen their way and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
In the Mahabharata, Anusasana-parva, 114.6, 115.6 it states: As the footprints of all moving, living beings are engulfed in those of the elephant, even thus all religions are to be understood by ahimsa which is non-violence to any living being by thought, words or actions

"Nobody cares", Well then how about someone eating your mother? Many people are starving so why not have their basic needs met as you are suggesting? If you are allowed to take life and you want to live by the rules of the jungle, then you should be prepared to have your family sacrificed for their meat. You have been born for the sole reason to realize your true nature. That can never happen as long as you don't see God in everything. Lord Krishna said that one part of the food becomes the psychical body and a more subtle becomes the mind. Basically what you eat, you become. To answer your question about I actually believing in what the sages, saints, rishis, yogis has proclaimed after their deep insights, the answer is a clear yes. You reap what you sow, karma will come for everyone, it's unavoidable. An animal eats, drinks, procreates and sleeps. If you believe that you are here for that purpose only, then you are nothing more than an animal and only suffering will be your greatest teacher. God bless

Keep it up Ranveer. You're by far one of the most honest podcast shows on RUclips. Vegetarianism is a very subjective topic. It's of course every individual's choice. But a choice can also be made responsibly and after weighing the pros and cons. So, of course vegetarianism is the most logical choice ( dark ages or not) and wins hands down.
However if, as the Lama mentioned, there's no choice only like if they're living in sub zero temperatures where no veggies can grow, then I guess it's but natural to be non veg.

Comparing with plant , that veggie also kill plants, but there is differennce when between Hair and fingers. Hairs on your body are also alive but we cut them but never cut fingers because they move. Cutting a moving animal or bird and shedding blood and hearing their cry and causing pain to their famies and fear among those who watch them can not be compared with plucking fruit from tree or reaping wheat from fields. Anyway my point will not change any non veggie.

Are you aware that the male calf is sent to slaughter immediately after birth? Or kept without milk to starve it to death?
Are you aware that cows are impregnated every 2-3 months so they are pregnant and lactating at the same time? Every cow whose normal lifespan is 18-20 yrs after 3-4 or 5 pregnancies becomes useless.
She cannot get pregnant, give birth and give milk. So she is either left to roam the cities or slaughtered illegally. The male,is killed any which way.
Buffaloes for whom no law exists banning their killing, get killed always. Whether male or female. That's why you don't see any buffaloes roaming the streets.

You can practice Jainism if you are so concerned about the plants too.
Would you ask this questions to Jains who avoid eating any root based vegetable?
