- In this episode of "Mr. Adams and Eve," Ida Lupino and Howard Duff as husband-and-wife movie stars, and Lee Patrick as Eve's actress-mother, try to act like "normal" people when Howard's mother comes for a visit.
Thank you very much for putting this on RUclips. I’ve never heard of this TV series, but it was very enjoyable.
A favorite of mine and quite rare. Check out the others I posted. Also check out a series called "So This is Hollywood."
A lovely lady just recommended this to me after I commented on a biography on Ida Lupino. I'm so grateful to her!
I have others posted as well.
WOW! I remember seeing this when I was 5 or 6. Thanks for posting!
Me too. We must be in the same age range.
This was an entertaining series. I'd like to see more episodes if you have them. Ida Lupino was a good actress and also a good director. Howard Duff was also a good actor. I always liked him and I have seen all or most of his movies and also Ida Lupino's. Ty for posting this. More.. more...more..plz
+muse 77 It was one of my favorites. I've only got three episodes and I posted all three. I also posted Ida's "This is Your Life".
Yes, TY. I've watched them all, and enjoyed them very much.
+muse 77 It's fun to see the spoof of "Eve" being surprised on "This is Your Life" and then see Ida's actual show.
Yes I watched that show. It was great to see her surprised reaction.
Mr. Adams and Eve: Season 1 Episode 11
Title: THE MOTHERS

Guest cast: Lee Patrick ......... Eve's Mother; Olive Blakeney ...... Howard's Mother; Walter Woolf King ... Warner

Awesome show. As with The Judy Garland show, the public had so many great shows to choose from that they couldn't appreciate these shows till they were gone. Bonanza.........BARF!
The theme song by David Rose on this episode (apparently the theme song changed later on) is familiar, but I cannot find the title listed anywhere I look. Any ideas on either the name of the tune or any websites I might visit to find out? Oh, and the episode is great fun. I particularly like Lee Patrick ans Ida Lupino's mother after her rather silly acting wife character on Topper.
But Lee Patrick had a certain feminine allure, ❤unlike the floozy image put out by today's actresses. 💣
Ida and Howard were a great comic team in an ep of THE LUCY-DESI COMEDY HOUR.
I love Lee Patrick
She appealed to me when I was in Junior High School in 1956. The other guys were hot for Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield and Brigitte Bardot, but she had an appeal that I couldn't resist. I saw her in 'Topper' and also in feature films (Maltese Falcon, Nurse's Secret, No Business Like Show Business, etc.)
Silly but cute ep. The camera angles going in and out was a bit strange. Strange how Howard D. is called by his own name but Ida is called EVE.
Their daughter Bridget is in an episode - she is five in it. 🙂
Topper’s wife?
Yes, also Mrs. Upson in "Auntie Mame" and the secretary in "Maltese Falcon".
Anne Jeffreys
@@sevenoeightful Anne Jeffreys played Marion Kirby. Her real-life husband Robert Sterling played George Kirby. Leo G. Carroll played Cosmo Topper. And Lee Patrick played Henrietta Topper. I forget who played the part of Neal, the St. Bernard dog of the Kirbys.
Terrible script.
Oh, it wasn't THAT good! 💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣
