- While backing up APKs from an Android, the data is not backed up along with it. For rooted phones, we got Titanium backup to backup app along with its data to be able to restore it on any device. However the app’s not compatible with non-rooted device.

There is a problem with the intsaller package of helium how i can fix this ?
i have enabled usb debugging nd installed drivers but it still dosent detect my phone
what could be the problem
I tried helium but I get "An error occured while performing app
backup. error is : Desktop Backup Password.
Please verify your Desktop Backup Password is a blank password then
press back to return to helium.
Strangely it works when I try to backup from the system like messaging

Found solution. You need to allow "USB debugging (security settings)" option, in case of my xiaomi

You probably forget your desktop pass., the only thing for you to reset it is factory data reset
The Connection work now,and i activate it with desktop but the backup dont work.. it dont make a backup..it says only,while the backup a error occured...
does this work for google Authenticator? why you showing back up of an app that not 1 person wud back up..
what version of helium is this?... also why doesn't it need a pc to run... i cant run this without pc...

Helium does not allow you to restore your data unless you pay for the premium version. So what is the point in that if you cant buy premium?

I have been using this app for a few years now. I am having trouble backing the app data from a particular app, I use the Google Drive method to save and restore apps and data. Also the helium app says the developer allows app data to be backed up. Any ideas? Thank You.
I installed an apk then I play it then backup it then uninstall it then download the modded apk then restore it. Can I do that?
you can backup any app. The restoration certainly works for the same app. Restoring game saves for the same game but modded version may or may not work - just try and find out.
What if it not work? Then I loss all my data.

i have been using one plus 3 phone and i wants to take my game backup out of moto g2, the issue is while taping on restoration button on one plus phone it does not detect carbon folder which already there in file exploration.

Once you do all that back and restore on your phone as you did in this video.... how do you then transfer that game and data from your phone to another phone that has the same FREE Hellium installed? This is what I can't understand.

In your internal storage there is a folder called "carbon" move that folder to your second phone.. And you'll get all your backups in the second phone

Ok try copy the app data from filemanager and android folder and copy to another folder and uninstall the app and reinstall it and then again copy data from that section to original in android and u will see app works like old with same data

do you really need to do that? i mean after you re-installed the apps and logged in you'll get everything back again, no backup needed

you should probably move the backup from your internal device to your SD card, i think it's in the carbon folder inside your phone.

+Guiding Tech - First off, I could never get this app to work. I went through all the steps - download chrome extension, enable USB Debug, plug the phone in to the computer, enable PTP. But the app continues telling me I need to enable PTP mode, so I check YET AGAIN and it is enabled. Never get past that screen, and it never connects to the PC. Then the app closes.
Also, it appears to me that my phone reverts to MTP mode every time it reboots - which is often lately. I thought this would only prevent backing up to the computer, which I didn't intend to do very often anyway. I intended to backup to Dropbox or Box, and the SD card, most of the time.
But... something you said in the video blows me away. It sounds like you said that every time you REBOOT your phone, you have to go through that exercise of connecting the phone to to the computer. Did you really mean REBOOT? Or RESET? If it is really that every time you REBOOT you must connect the phone to the computer, to even get the app to work, then this app is USELESS. As janky as Samsung software is, I reboot my phone at least once a week. More recently, it reboots by itself sometimes every day. If I would have to connect the phone to the computer every day, just so it would "automatically" backup, then this app is completely unsuitable.

I understand that the initial configuration of the app is challenging and also the process is mandatory every time you REBOOT YOUR PHONE. The reason is that these kind of hacks work seamlessly on rooted device, however the developer has managed to make it work on non-rooted phones with some constraints in place.
+Guiding Tech - Thank you for your reply. And I forgot to say it in my first message, but thank you for this video. Even though the video served to prove the app is not for me, it still was a service to me. That was one less app I had to try. I have used MyBackup for over a year, and it worked reliably without root until recently. I realize with root you can back up way more stuff. By MyBackup would backup everything I wanted to backup. Recently it has been 'forgetting' about the SD card, and not backing up. Also the cloud backup would run but report it couldn't upload the file. So I am looking for a new solution. Right now I am trying G Cloud, and very initially it looks positive. It is has a nice UI, and seems to back up everything I want.

WhatsApp back up not allowed with helium
This Helium must of work good in the past. Seen post from 2013 in their app. google store. 2021 Android 11 didn't work shows error and sends error to developer. It seems no updates seen since 2019 and no responses. I tried the back up and restore in my android 6.0 and worked fine as of today. Hopefully they will update someday the app. According to posts. This app worked in non-rooted phones. Which seem to work in my android 6.0. Haven't found anything that might be able to back up my games app data for my new device in android 11 operating software march 2021. Great video.

Dear Ashish, I used helium for taking a backup of Games Data on internal memory of the old phone, then I tried updating the same on new phone by copying the carbon folder to new phone memory. The restore process started, but the data could not be restored as the backup screen popped up and remained there for some time, later an error message popped up and the process got aborted. The process was repeated several times but the result remained same. Can you help?

what if a person needs to factory reset
i think you can move the backed up data files to you pc, factory reset you phone and bring the files back again
