Remove ALL Bloatware from any Android Smartphone without Root

- For those that aren't able to watch more than 10 seconds of a video before commenting: this method will permanently remove (you won't be able to recover what you delete) bloatware from all smartphones except non-rooted Samsung phones. If you're on a Samsung handset, the files will only be disabled. Every other device supports complete removal.

Android is a fantastic mobile operating system. While for many years I considered iOS to be the clear leader, the two platforms are closer than ever before-equally impressive-both with its own strengths and weaknesses. One of the annoyances with Android is the fact that most new phones come with lots of bloatware that cannot be uninstalled. Today, I will show you how to remove any and all bloatware from any Android smartphone without root permissions. Наука
Disable is not the same as remove
+Jeff Patterson If you actually watch the video, you'll note that it removes on every phone except for Samsung phones-where it is only disabled.
Snazzy Labs if it was removed, it would not be able to be installed again with just a selection change in the program. Making it disappear from the screen doesn't remove it.
Jeff Patterson Again, on Samsung phones it can only be disabled. On other phones, it is removed permanently and not recoverable.
can you please post the wallpaper link which you have for windows pc
thanks....

So why isn't this video's title: Disable ALL Bloatware from any Android Smartphone without Root? Disabling is very different than removing, last time I checked.
If you watch the video, you will note that it DOES remove on every phone except for Samsung phones which are root disabled.
Snazzy Labs will it work with kyocera products?
Snazzy Labs sorry sir..mine is G935S which from sktel , will the app works?
Michael Shrader u can disable the app from app manager
Michael Shrader exactly. And i almost forgot to downvote
Look at him in 2020.... He looks so different!!!

Ok
Oh wow holy
Dang ur right
Yeah, look at your photos from years ago, you would look different too.
There are 60 apps on my brand new phone. Hooking to adb, it shows one package.
I got same issue!
Same. I have ZTE Blade V10 Vita.
@@hunzhurte me too any answer?
disabling is useless , need to get them off the phone completely
Steve Cea root then delete simple as that
SJC Cobra u need to root the phone .or use adb tool
For God sake! If you love both system equal don't blame android. You said it yourself. It's the Americans carriers AND SAMSUNG. For instance my Sony Xperia Z5 don't have any or much bloatware. It's a bought phone and no carrier connected to the phone. The easiest way, BUY and pay the whole phone choose your decided carrier. I know it's not as simple as doing this in Sweden. Also HTC for instance is a quite clean system. I like Samsung's hardware but I think their software is more bloated than Sony and HTC.
Tony Wirén the reason I don't buy phones in the us
Muhammad Yawar Ifraheem whats adb ! and does remove system apps 4ever!
Hi, great tutorial. Clear, understandable and very useful. The only issue I' am dealing with is that I can't find online, even at the link you posted, a working version of debloater for mac "el capitain". The 3.85 and the upgrade 3.90 give an error ones launched. Have you any suggestion where to get it? Thanks for support.
Thanks for the video but this does not work anymore in 2020, I just installed it but none of the apps show on the list and it shows the phone is connected
Hi, thanks for the video. I'd like to ask, my debloater only shows 1 package. Any idea how to show all of them?
Device connected not showing green light its still in red color. Though i have followed all the steps. I am using Windows 10 and redmi note 4. And i have enabled developer option and usb debugging. Please reply
GetThatBase what I've discovered is that the "adb server" is out of date, and the gentleman hasn't made a new video with the updated server "if there is one"
This not affect Samsung Pay?, this method = Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge?
Thanks 🙏 from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Help!! When running the adb-setup-1.3 (the link to V1.43 page does not exist and the page for V1.42 file is not on the server) on my HTC10 I get only one apk, HtcESPLauncher.apk which is blocked, and unblocking gave the following error message. "Processing changes to: Error: java.lang.SecurityException: Neither user 2000 nor current process has android.permission.MANAGE_USERS"/.
Is there another adb-setup version (V1.43) that will allow a full read of the my HTC 10 packages? Is the HTC 10 HtcESPLauncher.apk blocking the scan for packages, if so how do I unblock it? Or am I doing something else wrong?
It says "error manage users" something like that.. Plz help me i dont know how to fix this thing
Phenomenal tutorial techniques used in this video. You should be on television.
Title is wrong...Disable not remove.
+Kenneth Meyers Not true. It removes on all phones except Samsung ones.
root it god dammitt
some phones cant be rooted.
Such like mine , I own the ZTE ZMax Pro and there is no way I can root the phone.
And yes, the phone came out brand new in the market in june 2016.
So not everyone can root. - But I do get what you are saying......LOL
I bet you can root it
Probably can just have to develop an exploit.
Every time I Apply, I get the message "Processing changes to: Error: java.lang.SecurityException: Neither user 2000 nor current process has android".
What Am I doing wrong?
for the debloater what version would i use for my Galaxy Express 3?
I love how everyone just states that Bloatware is an Android problem and that apple doesn't bloat it's devices. I don't need a Health App, neither various of their sales programs that they hide behind names such as iBooks, Music, newsstand. I don't check stock market ever, and haven't facechated or used iMessage my entire life and I probably won't in the future.
In the unlikely scenario that I had an iPhone, I would still use the google ecosystem, because it is available on all platforms and I use many different systems. So by my definition iCloud and almost every app that starts with an i is bloat.
Oskar Kepke
For bloat ware, typically it's carrier provided apps that come preinstalled and iPhones never come with anything from a carrier preinstalled
Only apples apps are preinstalled and therefore every iPhone is the same as others from other carriers, also they don't have carrier branding on the outside of the phone either
You can buy any android phone without a carrier branding or preinstalled carrier apps either. Simply don't buy it from a carrier.
If what you said were true and the term bloatware refered only to those apps preinstalled by carriers, than by your definition for desktop computers there wouldn't be such a thing as bloatware, because they don't have carriers. Nevertheless we all know there actually is bloatware on desktop computers.
Bloatware is a term for preinstalled software that isn't requiered to operate the device in its usual usage scenario and usually hard or almost impossible to remove.
The reason for installing bloatware can be different. Sometimes its installed because the hardware is paid for doing so (McAffee on Desktops for example) has an economical interest in doing so, for example by differentiating himself from other manufacturers that use the same operating system (all of Samsungs crappy preinstalled apps) or by promoting its own ecosystem in which he hopes to generate more money (literally every second app on an iPhone) Sometimes it's only installed because the manufaturer assumes the customer wants it (facebook, twitter....)
At the end of the day it all comes down to this:
Bloatware is sofware that coul easily be installed after purchase by the users themselves, that is unnecessary to operate the device and hard to remove.
Apple includes three types of bloatware:
iBooks, iTunes, Podcasts, Home, TV, Wallet (which are all sales platforms in which apple hopes to acquiere more money or sell more devices. They could be easily made available via the App Store instead of being preinstalled, they are the most classical bloatware, unnecessary to the majority of users, looking at the sales figures of Apple TV and Watch compared to iPhone, you can safely assume that far less than 5% of iPhone users will be unsing either app.) These are on the one hand the most bloaty ones but on the other hand the ones that apple will most likely generate the most additional revenue with.
Then there are the ones which are somewhere inbetween, they are arguably usueful to a wide audience, but there will also be a whole bunch of users using an alternative app and therefore not needing the one Apple provided or not using them at all: Health, Facetime, Maps, News, Stocks, iCloud drive, Find my phone, Find my friends, Tips. These are mainly there to promote Apples ecosystem, because that is what keeps up customer loyalty.
The third category are apps that are useful to most users and won't be replaced by most but nevertheless could easily be acquiered through the app store instead of being preinstalled, like Contacts, Clock, Calendar etc.. Whilst I do agree that they should be preinstalled, as otherwise the phone would be more or less useless out of the box, I object to the fact that on Apple's iPhone as on many other smartphones they can not be deinstalled, which again makes them bloatware by my definition. Power users often rely on alternatives, as the preinstaled ones often offer limited functionality.
Shouldn't have to buy your android phone outright and not from a carrier just so it doesn't come with the carrier bloat ware
That means paying lots more money for the phone and that's not how majority of smartphone buyers get them, they generally do go buy from a carrier
Hence the huge lines at stores during iPhone launch days
I don't know about the USA (which I'm assuming you're talking about) but where I live in Germany you almost never save when buying from carriers. Most people that do so just like a fixed monthly price or basically can not afford to pay the phone upfront.
Anyway my remarks were about the fact that apple does have bloatware, not that android phones don't or have less. It's fortunate for Apple and their customers that their market postition in the USA is strong enough to unlike the other manufacturers decide themselves about whichever bloatware to preinstall and not have the carriers grip on that but that doesn't change the fact that an app, which has the sole purpose of connecting to another gadget like the Apple TV, that less than 5% of their customers actually posess can not be called anything but bloatware.
On iOS 11 you can delete some system apps like Mail, Notes, etc.
PC required..& bloatware disabled, not removed
i downloaded the software attached here, but when i try to use, it doesn't detect my device, i am using W10, with Oppo F9. any valid advise?
I stuck on the installation of the ADB and Fastboot. I did install those drivers, but I can't do anything else. No application window opens. Right after the blue window opens, I click yes 3 times, it shows it's done, it closes and nothing else appears on my computer.

Debloater Problem:
"Unfortunately your device is neither rooted nor supports block mode, the program will now close" - and then it closes. Any fix? Asus Fonetab ME...
+Brian Cullen Same problem for me
+Brian Cullen Evidently, there is no answer. I have that issue as well. Seems this does not work for ANY Android smartphone.
+numbrabbit Works for my Galaxy Grand Prime
You should then try to root your phone and unlock a bootloader.
Also, getting a custom recovery app is very handy as well.
It tells my error :java lang protected app what can I do?
does it free up space when you do this?
Good guide, but the term "remove" with regard to bloatware isn"t quite accurate. The preinstalled system apps (bloatware) are actually being disabled via adb shell, not removed from the device. Those apps are still fully intact on the /system, /product, /oem or /vendor partitions. The only way to fully remove them is by superuser access over the Android OS, or by installing a custom recovery such as TWRP, mounting the /system partition as R/W (or other partitions in which preinstalled apps are present), and using recovery"s native file management interface to individually remove the unwanted apps.
Do you know what 'REMOVE' means?
any idea why i only see 2 packages i have all set up showing device connected synced and with the bridge as well thanks
So I know this video is a few years old, but would this work on new Android devices, like the S20?
the legend 27 is alive again !
(the game of war add showed up on the vid)
Can't get this to work on my G4. The ADB command works in terminal but as soon as I open debloater it won't recognize the device at all.
+techdude6693 Same thing with the Note 5
+techdude6693 +wake. you guys need to have your phones unlocked and wait until a dialog box (on the phone) opens up asking whether or not to authorize the computer to make changes. Same thing happened to me. If it doesn't open up, try switching the port you're using and restarting the debloater program. It might take a minute to pop up so be patient
Hey dude i just have a question that after doing this all things and blotware get removed then if after some time i need to format the phone then after formatting will the bloatware come again ?
We need to change the default USB configuration to transferring files? Mines in charge only right now
as most of the comments state, video is functionally useless for a large portion of the user base.
I knew it was bs when he said "without root" Obviously not a Linux or Unix user if you don't have root access on ANY Linux/Unix (Android is a Linux distro) distro, you cannot make kernel level changes. Plain and simple, this includes moving apps to an SD card and still having them perform the same way, or at all. Most apps that claim to do this are just making a file structure mirror, which actually takes up more space. Also you do not need ADB to disable Apps. You can do this from inside the Android OS. Running or not.
My Device is connected, synced, root mode : green lights also serial and model. Yet, I have no packages showing up ?
shit doesnt work in 2019 anymore ... seems never version of Android (S9 - android 9) presummably is causing this.. app is too old. shame. I have to root my S9

Hi Snazzy Labs, I followed the your video but the debloater is only showing 1 package for my LG V60. Am I missing a step? The package is the LG startup wizard which does have ATT in the file name but I am at a loss. I only want to remove the ATT stuff and nothing operational.
I once had a phone from the United Arab Emirates that had no phone provider editional programming. I was able to do things in settings that I cannot do with an AT&T programmed phone. And it was faster than the one I have now which is a newer version. Will this help me get to those settings?
9:30 letting you know in the comment below (not the video description :). after clicking "read device packages" only got 2 lines (of base packages) - i think debloater program displays already disabled packages (in my case at least - samsung galaxy s6 with the latest android update)
getting this error "Processing changes to: Error: java.lang.SecurityException: Neither user 2000 nor current process has android.permission.MANAGE_USERS. "
Were you able to fix it?
CheyTac no i couldn't
I have windows 10. There is no "Terminal." I dragged the ADB file to Command Prompt, and had no luck. Help please.

What if device isn't connecting to the debloater? Debbuging is on.

Use a updated version instead of the one in the description
Literally never heard anyone say you can’t love both iOS and Android
Stop using the word "literally" all the time. You're literally using it incorrectly.
can you tell what is the name of the package to uninstall the OEM Carrier Logo (Movistar) at startup and after reboot i have android Oreo 8 thanks
My Note 4 (Samsung SM-N190a) Overheats, freezes and random reboots as of late will this help with that?
From the description it seems that nothing is actually removed from the Android, consequently it doesn't free any memory space. Is that correct?
+Bill Wehrmacher No. On all smartphones with the exception of Samsung phones, the bloatware is removed completely from the device. On Samsung phones, it's disabled from root level. Still on the device, but disabled from root level.
Snazzy Labs if you have Root you can remove all Apps from any device😂😂
did you not hear ..this method is WITHOUT ROOT
not everyone wants to root their phone
Snazzy Labs but the title doesn't call out any exceptions. Why the misleading title?
why would i do all this crap just to disable the apps which i can do from my phone also..
the only way to remove system app bloatware is by rooting your device.
Are you SURE about THAT ?
@@Dracula.25 Try out in adb shell uninstall --k user 0 package name . But this will again installed after ota update

When I open the debloater it doesn't show my phone or anything. Is there a setting in my phone i have to change? I have a ZTE Maven 3
Remove and disable is 2 different things. You can disable apps without software or a computer.
And it works exactly the same.
I used to fiddle with the os on my computer and phone but it's gotten to a point where to do it correctly you need really good experience in computer software modification. So I took it to the IT department where I work and got them to do it. You'd be amazed how its improved performance and battery life.
and the debloating link send you to a site with several links to download... must i download ALL of them?
Hello Snazzy Labs.
I'm a bit of a Technology Neanderthal. Is 'Command Prompt' the Windows equivalent to 'Terminal'? I noticed that this video is from 2015; are the methods still OK for Android 6? (I have a lower range LG phone). I noticed thatn the Rootjunkysdl Debloater versions are 2015 and the ADB Installer is 2013 (I may be wrong here).
I'll have to see your video 2 or 3 more times to clarify the instructions... which leads me to wonder if I should be trying this as all! Still, if I never try I'll never learn.
No ADB shorcut and exe doesn't do anything. Nothing in the ADB folder starts the program.
Nigel Blackwell its command line use the cmd .or just download the adb search from google then unzip it shift +right click to open as cmd
Muhammad Yawar Ifraheem OK. Thanks for that. I saw the short cut in the video and thought..."I want one too!" :)
ok so I've only got win7
what would be the CMD commands to do this or will I need a Win10 machine?
Richard Forehand you need adb and fastboot tool search it on Google download and run it
yea I've got everything and installed all of it. I've started it in CMD and now I've no idea where to proceed
The title is very misleading; the whole video is about DISABLING apps and NOT about REMOVING them "without root".
+Luiz Felipe Nasser-Carvalho Not true.
Ok. Can you please confirm that the procedure above will allow me to DELETE the bloatware from my Xperia T2, freeing space from its memory rather than simply disabling these apps? And if the bloatware is deleted how can I tick a checkbox in the Debloater / ADB and get it reinstalled?
it depends on the phone whether you can remove them
or not as said in the video
yes i also hate when people put false title and thumbnails
Luiz Felipe Nasser-Carvalho coz he needs the ads seriously..
Hello. Can we delete better or disable blotware with this method or with adb commands for Samsung Galaxy S10 without root?

I'm trying to use a doro phone but I'm unable to bring up the phone on the Debloater, what should I do?
When I run the debloat software. only 2 packages show up when I hit read device packages. Any ideas?
Thumb down from misleading title. Disabling and hiding a bloatware program is not the same than removing (aka uninstalling), since you don't get the memory space it is occupying, it simply gets deactivated.
Not true. Watch the whole video.
Not even really deactivated. In many cases. he's just hiding the icon. Does not improve phone performance. Might cause weird problems?
Bob G I believe "deactivating" here means uninstalling the app, but keeping the _.apk_ in internal flash storage. So to launch the app again you have to go into settings to "enable" (install the app) to run it again.
think they let you off that easy? depends on the app.
Bob G No. If this program allows your phone you disable system apps, you can disable all system apps. Tyrannical roms like MIUI and most Chinese roms make disabling system apps very difficult becouse they earn by spying on users.
My phone isn't recognized (Note 5) when I open Debugger. Is there a fix?
I want to know, if it is possible to create a shortcut from the application to open/run it. Once they are already disabled/blocked or hidden.
I just want to find a way to launch the application, every time I need it!
Because the system won't launch it! The LAUNCH APPLICATION MANAGER, won't allow it. Thanks
Would you show how to use the debloater on MAC? I can't get it to work after attempting many many times. Thank you.
i like the way you respect our time
totally did not work on my samsung galaxy s5. waste of time and now i have a useless 153 mb application on my computer. lame.
User error.
+Snazzy Labs "Re-enable"is a term used after disabling something, not removing it... However.. I doubt you'll find a huge (lol.. If any) performance boost. The best I could think of is merely not even a 1% increase in performance. The OS is built around being under constant pressure (Duh...) while still maintaining performance.. NOW.. I'm not saying it'll be as fast as it was when you first started it, but it'll probably lag as much as anyone elses if used in the same way.
These "performance tips" are as true as the ones where they claim you SAVE battery from removing apps from the cache memory (Lol, "Phone Boosters")... Surely, if you have some kind of _VIRUS_, you'll find these increases as "boosting", but yeah.. If you say so :)

there are options to block the unwanted apps in the apps section of most android phones from there we can disable most of the bloatware ..then why use this method ??
if u disable it still stays on the phone, that's why
+Imran Haque did you not see this video ??? he is clearly saying that the apps are being disabled not removed .using this method the app still remains on the phone internal memory ..the app just gets hidden .
Alan Joy i thought it removes them
+SaM 534 yes there is one way...
step 1: install kingroot app from xda dev page and root the phone .
Step 2: open kingroot app and uninstall all the bloatware .just be careful not to remove system apps .if you remove system apps your phone might get bricked
just remove app unwanted apps which is visible in the app drawer else don't remove .
Step 3: uninstall kingroot..and your phone will be unrooted and you will get back your warranty..!!!
+SaM 534 there is no use of force closing the apps.. it will start again after a restart of the phone..
disabling apps helps it frees ram since disabled apps wont appear in ram.but it does not free any space on the internal memory.. the internal memory will still be filled with the disabled app..!!
Doesn't this just disable apps and not actually remove them without root? If so the title is misleading!
Without root can remove?

+Benjamin Lagace Run it under compatibility mode as Administrator.
I disconnected the Phone and re-enabled USB debugging and somehow it came up this time. Thanks. There were not many bloatware apps on my BOOST S4, some you could actually delete, and the ones I had disabled in application manager from the phone were already disabled, so maybe people will have better luck on other carriers.
Hi there, I got windows 7 and got the same problem. I start my phone (Samsung S6 Edge, with actual software, Android Marshmellow), swich on developer functions and enable debugging. I installed adb and debloater on my PC. Start the debloater as an administrator and get not connected to my cell phone. Do you have an idea, what it could be?
+Bernd Voller I was able to get it to work. But only after disconnecting the phone from the computer, closing the de-bloated, and turning off USB debugging on the phone. After that I opened the de-bloater, connected the phone to the computer via USB, and turned on USB debugging in developer options. Once you turn on that feature, there should be a warning pop up on the phone you have to accept.
Keep in mind I'm working with a S4, so might be different. Good luck
No chance...Can do what I want, but don't get it connected...Don't know why???

Anyway of removing apps on the iOS that I don't need, like Apple Watch?
doubt it. that's just how apple rolls.
You can but only by jailbreaking
+Tae Hyun Kim (Kimmy Kim) I put all of mine in one big folder, to limit how much of my home screen space they take up!
Well tim cook has said that Apple is looking at a solution for that.

Interesting. But I was as to do this via my Note 7 settings menu...disable most bloat and install several others.
In your Note 7 you have something much more annoying than bloatware! It's explodeware... ;)
Why not do it through Android settings->applications->choose app->press switch off ? It does exactly the same, and android components are easier to spot as they have green robot next to them

@@jamieian - I agree I should be able to but am unable to. I have the galaxy s6 edge. I got this second hand and it has tons of preloaded crap on it that use to constantly annoy me. I was able to turn some of it off. I want to remove facebook because I never use it and it takes up a lot of room. I believe it has built in tracking software too so - NO THANKS.
How do I do this on my windows 10 computer for my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge
I only have 1 single application on my s20!
Thats in green on the list.
WHY?
Please help
ios also comes with bloatware...
Wyvern07 bloatware is any unwanted software that isnt essential. Calculator, camera, google, etc are basic apps that most people need. Stuff like games that are preinstalled or random launchers arent needed
