Back in 93 when Aerodyne came out with a Turbo to put on sleds my buddy had one on his new 94' Polaris 580 XLT - They had a low & High Boost switch on the sled, on High Boost that sled made 140 HP. The sound on that sled with stock exhaust sounded amazing with that Turbo. It sounded like a he put a kick ass pipe on it. In 1997 I meet a guy on the lake that had a new Polaris XC 700 with an Aerodyne Turbo on it - Didn't sound near as good as they used to, can't remember why ( We talked about it back then ) They muffled the sound way to much. Can't wait to hear yours.
The XLT that we pulled the kit from the muffler looked like it was definitely from the kit. It basically was a straight pipe with a cone built in to reflect the sound. I honestly thought it was a poor design
@@toddclyne3493 - The Polaris dealer had the Turbo on his XLT Long Track and instead of selling him the Turbo and taking it off they just swapped out the 2 new engines, so they didn't have to disconnect everything. The only bad thing was when installing the High/ Low Boost Switch they flipped it upside down so he was running it on High Boost and didn't have the extra high octane fuel in it and riding it one night burned the motor down. If I remember right all 3 pistons. After rebuild he didn't put the Turbo back on, last I knew he still had it in the box. He paid $3500 for it back then.
Wow….. WOW!!!!! I’m in love Todd holy frickin’ Smokes fellas you guys do wonderful work!!! This is by far my favorite snowmobile on earth. I’m hoping to find a XCR 440 for my first build. Great Job 👏

Love seeing some guys fixing these old girls up. Oldest I own is a 98 powder special 600 efi. Would love to find and fix up and old king cat or old mountain cat 1000.
Todd that sled is beautiful!!! Seeing it brings me memories of the turbo guys from Prince George British Columbia Canada. We met up with them in 1988 in Yellowstone. They had two turbo 500's and a 650 turbo. As I recall the 500's were almost trouble free and the 650 ate pistons like crazy. Hopefully your fuel updates solve the problems they had back then. I think the 500's made 100hp and the 650 was about 140. Might not sound like alot now but nothing could compare to those sleds in the high country. My 650 with SLP pipes was fast but at 6666' ASL in Yellowstone it was probably only making 95hp. No match for those turbos. Hope yours runs well, good luck!
