      I should do that, I need to finish the shield logo, I’m considering using wood instead of brass to simplify the process

    A few years ago, a customer of mine wanted me to build his iPod into his Swiss army knife, and I put it together with a wooden cover in such a way that it also functioned as a money clip, because I screwed and glued the part of the clip into the body.

      Me too, although I kind of doubt it, most people aren’t looking for locking pliers, and the mechanism takes up space, maybe they will tho. I found mine in a small fishing store 2 months ago so there’re still a few out there!

    this is awesome! I made a set of wooden ones but didn't think about doing 2 layers and cutting them out with my laser. Do you have a good place to source thin exotic wood like that?

    • @Kayakatools
      @Kayakatools  11 дней назад

      Hey thanks, yep I got all the hardwoods from this website ocoochhardwoods.com/scroll-saw-lumber/ and the veneers I got in a pack from someone selling on Amazon

    I'm wondering if installing the thumb stud was worth doing...

    • @Kayakatools
      @Kayakatools  13 дней назад

      Not really, I like the way it looks but it doesn’t stick out enough to use one handed, and it shortens the usability of the blade. I prefer my swisstool spirit MX clip though anyways

  • @zachlyndeYT
    @zachlyndeYT 24 дня назад

    Yeah those scales are killer. Do you think if you expanded the relief around the thumb stud would help enable one-handed deployment? Either way, excellent work!

    • @Kayakatools
      @Kayakatools  23 дня назад +1

      Thanks, that might work. Another idea I had was doing a thinner scale like the Alox SAKs

    • @EdcSenor
      @EdcSenor 23 дня назад

      A thinner scale for a 4-layer SAK would be a good idea!
