Used Knife: Victorinox Huntsman
Every time I see your modifications for your SAK, it makes me wonder why Victorinox didn't think of that when when they designed the knife.
Thanks for this wonderful compliment!
Iirc in some locations one-handed folding knives are illegal. But I would argue most people have genuine non-murder use for swiss army knives like these and it isn't just the one-armed people who benefit.
Take a guess why Victorinox will not make a Felix Immler edition SAK.
The SAK is a lot older than one hand openers like this mod
@@QuantumPyrite_88.9 that’s a great idea they Victorinox totally should bring out a Felix mod’s SAK as I defo would buy one.
Good idea in case you really need it. Whenever I cut a bolt down, I thread the nut on first and twist it down to the head. It makes smaller bolts fit into your drill straighter, if that's necessary. But the main benefit is that when you remove the nut it cleans up your threads where you made the cut.
I think a drop of removable Loctite on the threads before final assembly might not be a bad idea.
Felix, alter Fuchs, da hast du ja wieder etwas ausgetüftelt!! KLASSE!! Danke!!
Freut mich sehr! Danke Kurt!
As a lefty I apreciate so much this Sak modification! I think it could also work in 111mm Sak with slide lock without modifying the scales. It could make my old Work Champ even better.
great video as usual, and a good modification for the SAK. I would NEVER do this to my Vic's, as this would void my warranty, even though the quality of Victorinox is so good that I don't think I would ever need to use my warranty. I can open my SAK with one hand now (without any add-ons), but it is slower and a little more complicated. I learn to open ALL my folders with one hand ever since I watched 127 Hours, because you never know when you will have only one hand that you can use to open your knife (even more times than if you have a boulder catch one hand), and I usually carry a fixed blade as my primary (almost ALL my fixed blades have a sawback, some better quality than others, but I really like my Carnivore-X), and always carry my Swiss Champ (usually anyway) as my backup, and as my primary, if I am NOT carrying my fixed blade. That said, I do have an inexpensive SAK, that I may do this to, just to see how useful it would be.
This guy read my mind. Literally. Just a few days ago I imagined a one-hand classic vic 😆
Excellent job. I don’t believe my level of craftsmanship would result in such a professional product as yours !
what a good MOD. my friend!!!!!
Thank you Ruben!
You are magic !
The reason why I use a leatherman every day instead of a sak is the one hand opening, with this tutorial I know how I can change my SAKs. So simple, so clever ! Why didn’t I think to do that before !
Thanks for this wonderful feedback!
Like the heavy rock cover track Felix!
Thank you!
Can't understand how people would think that this modification won't void the earranty. Natural selecction.
Thanks for your feedback!
Next time...how to switch all the tool in oposite direction to make it work for a right hand person ;-)
This guy is a victorinox genius. I enjoy these videos immensely.
Nice modification Felix , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Thanks my friend!! I appreciate your support very much!
wow that is a great mod! I wish the knives came like this from the factory. SAKs are great but a one-handed knife deploy would make it even better
Kreative Schweizer Handwerkskunst. Gut gemacht.
You never fail your fans...with this vid, we remain devoted!
Ah man, that’s amazing. Very skilled work Felix. I bet there’s a Victorinox engineer or designer watching and saying “why didn’t we think of that?” 😜😂
You never fail to amaze me Felix👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks a lot Michael!
Finally! A modded sak that doesn’t cost $300!!
😅😅
This looks like an interesting mod, but I’m concerned about the blade being weakened. Maybe silver soldering a piece onto the blade would work better. I have a Swiss Army knife for use while kayaking, including if I end up in the water needing to cut things (e.g. rescue) where one handed action would be useful, but I also want a UK legal carry, i.e. It must not lock. I also have a Leatherman Crunch which I’ve considered modifying the locking blade to make it non-locking. Maybe I’ll spin up the milling machine and sort it one day.
Great modification Felix !
Left handed people must be so happy rn !! LoL
The music though 😖urrrgh
Thank you!
Excellent!!!!. Un saludo desde España 🇪🇸✨
Gracias!
@@FelixImmler la casa Victorinox debería comprarte la patente /copyright. 😜😉😉😉😉😉✨🇪🇸
Danke Felix, Nice to see you! t's been a while!
Thank you Michael!
awesome modification Felix
Awesome idea! I thoghut about it a lot, how to make it easier. There are metal glues which are stronger than welding, so it's not neccessary to drill out the blade. For example Loctite's epoxy weld bonding compound. Once cured, it is resistant to heat and moisture, including water, fuel, oil, antifreeze, and shop fluids. It won’t shrink and can easily be sanded. And I'm pretty sure other companies has similar products too.
Please let me know if you was successful!!
Hello from Detroit Michigan USA Great video thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise and for what you
Thank you so much for your support!!👍
Another great modification
So you just made it illigal for use in Switzerland? That’s Gangsta 👍🇨🇭
No... even in Germany it's legal...
Nice modification Felix! Another option might be the Thumb Stud for Buck 110/112. This thumb stud requires zero modification to the blade. It fits over the spine of the blade and uses a set screw to hold it in place. It can be placed wherever it works best for the user. Ambidextrous. Can easily be removed with no marks or damage to the blade. The handle of the Buck knife does not need to be modified either, due to the height of the blade spine above the handle scales. The SAK handle might need to be modified. Also, the t.s. I am referring to only fits a certain blade thickness range. One would need to verify the thickness of the SAK blade BEFORE ordering that part. It runs around $6-$11USD depending which website it is purchased from. Thanks Felix!!
The thin blade on SAK's will be a problem for this style of thumb stud.
@@blueeyeswhitedragon9839 I've used a set screw on thumb stud on a Merkur Kat knife without a problem. I will have to check the thickness. I never even considered modifying the SAK handle--great idea if the screw on stud fits. I just hate weakening the knife blade.
Just discovered your channel. Your videos are GOLD!
woww, thank you very much!
effin awesome,thanks felix
Thank you Christopher!
Nice job Felix. If you thread a nut onto the bolt past the cut you are going to make the nut will clean the thread when you remove it after the cut.
now you have the fastest Swiss army knife in the land
Nice mod for left-handed people and I like that you done it so precisely. If you are right-handed then I don’t see the point in having a one-hand-opening knife that is designed for left-opening.
As a left handed person this is great . Thinking of taking the knife apart to move blade to be right hand open
Super idea!!
MORE THIS BRO, EPIC!
Cool music man
Now, do all those modifications
Using only a Swiss Army knife
😉🤣👍🏻
neat modification !
Thanks a lot!
I will certainly try this. I have other pocket folder knives I want to do this . Recently I shined up the scales with some used Swiss army knifes and giving them as gifts thank you
Felix, it is time for you start learning Swiss watch making 😊
I think one of the reasons I like Swiss Army Knives, without ever having thought much about it is that it favors left-handers without explicitly saying so. Few products or companies, and probably NONE of this number of sales can say the same.
🤣🤣
Brilliant.Wish I could put a dozen likes. Cheers
You are amazing!
Thank you!
Super clever. Love the use of drill & grinder together. But a serious Mod.
Thanks a lot!!
Great practice for left handedness!
Thanks you!
You’re an original, Felix. I love it.
Really useful modification. I think this will make a Forester (any knife with a locking blade) illegal to carry in Germany though.
That's true...
Superb idea 👍, custom made for people like me who bite their finger nails down to the knuckles.
All of your ideas I have seen before are outstanding and inspiring, but not this one, this will reduce the strength of the blade drastically
Dr. SAK is operating again, flawlessly. Nice mod for the Vic.Thanks for sharing.
(The first music track of the 70s detective shows was a real bonus)
Thank you my friend!!
Awesome idea! Although I do have to say I much prefer the videos where you talk us through it instead of having music in the background. Keep up the great work!
Good jod but I feel the best way to do it is how it is done by victorinox them selves on the Swiss tool MX. Felix please think on the lines on Swiss tool MX one handed opening most of the people would love it
Thanks for your feedback!
Brillante conception et réalisation impeccable !
Thank you!
Very impressive modification, thank you so much. 👌🤠👍
Wow! Amazing.
Thank you Andrej!
Amazing modification, congrats, you have the skills!! ❤❤
I would like to give you a tip: "We" (restoration channels watchers) prefer videos without noises and/or blah-blah-blah, except the noises of the tools that are being used during the restoration (modification in this case), well, anyways, I just muted my device's sound, but I really would have liked your video much more if I could have listened to the tools sounds!!! Please think about that 😊😊
Damn. Something I feel like I could actually do! Shame I'm not left handed tho
Felix does it again to bad I didn't have this know how about swiss army knifes when I was a kid fast forward 40 years later. Good music
Thank for this kind words...
Like the idea, takes a lot of work to do. 🙂
This is genius 😎
A compelling idea given the only thing keeping me from buying an outrider is the lack of one-handed knife
Thank you!
hey this should be default! :D great build and great end product sir!
Thank you very much!
Very cool! I just recently thought of doing that with my Opinel.
Go for it!
Awesome, great job, Felix!!!!!! Congratulations. Thanks!
Thanks a lot!
Awesome. Nice modification. I like they way you use what is commonly available to make what you want.
I enjoyed the first song too 😉
Great Job!
Thanks a lot!
Another well done video brother!
Grande Felix, come sempre 👍
Gazie!
good work, mr felix thank you and may God continue to bless you
Thank you very much!!
Incredible!!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Sweet modification !
Thank you Robert!
Great idea! very nice! ATB Sam Adler from Vietnam
Thank you Margaret...
Cool idea!
Thank you!
That is awesome...
Now we need a flipper Vic for us right handed XD...
True!
The Tony Stark of SAKs right here folks. Brilliant
😂😂😂 Thank you
Nice!
Thank you.
Thanks for another great idea.
Thanks for watching my video!
I think Victorinox will consider your (great) idea to release a new 91mm model in the future!
Hey Felix, hope you are doing well my friend. Good to see new videos of yours, thank you for your work. Regards from the US
Wow....cool hack. But I couldn't do that to 'em....not just for the convenience of flipping the blade out. I never considered SAK's to be 'that kinda knife'...lol!
Thanks a lot for your comment!
Great mod Felix, especially for the lefties 😉
Very nice modification Felix, hand made makes it unique 👍👍👍
Danke mein lieber Freund!
Nice job Felix.
JT
Thank you so much!!
Awesome idea 👍
Now that was some quality work in making a one armed bandit knife! If I did this modification on one of my Swiss Army knives, I would remove one of the nipples from my vast collection of knives!
Thanks for your comment dear Jack!
Excelente modificación, quedo muy práctica y bonita, buen trabajo.
Gracias!
Good idea, good job, like it!✌
Well done!
Great video, as usual
This man is just a genious…
Danke Simon!!!
Love all your videos. But this one would be better without music!
Thanks for your comment!
left to put the lock on the blade :)
