I showed your channel to a mechanical engineer friend of mine and his first words were, "this man is a genius." "He not only thinks of incredible things to do but he carries them out." I'm spreading the word Felix. Respect from Florida USA and Beyond
Another great thing about a Felix Immler video: The ingenuity of his ideas and add-ons can be applied to other applications such as adding this LED setup to almost anything.
Felix, I've watched several of your videos. There seems to be a common thread between them. Whenever you learn something from someone else, you cite them, acknowledge the idea and the name of the person you've learned from. I find this so admirable. This is the behavior of an honorable man. And I think people should recognize this about you. Thank you for setting a good example.
i met a young felix fan in london the kid was maltese, he was already carving stuff from wood. it was great to see how the spirit is alive and kicking spurned by people like felix and this kid. bravo sir
👍🥸 I made those flashlights from Soviet Union batteries in 80-s, but than I was using the "native" knives, but since I was 8, I don't remember myself without no knife in my pocket! See you, Felix! Have a great weekend, thank you for doing my day now! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇨🇭
Absolutely superb modification...to be able to add a light source within a SAK would enhance the sole need to only ever have your SAK as your most essential EDC for everyday survival. Pure genius again from you Felix. Thank you sir 🙏
Thank you for posting this in the SAKs Exclusively group - we really appreciate all you do for the SAK world my friend. Blessing and peace to you and your family my friend, Simon Jones 🇬🇧👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Es lässt mich jedes Mal mit offenem Mund und großen Augen Erstaunen, was Du aus dem Teil noch alles rauskitzelst...😮 Mega!! Dir und deinen Lieben ein frohes Osterfest!
That's a really cool application! What an amazing way to be able to add a 100-hour light to an already useful tool! Thanks so much my friend for this ingenious idea!
thanks Felix for this video ! you're going to make victorinox jealous! it's crazy that they never thought of marketing a knife scale with a LED ! I would have liked to have had a test of the lighting of the LED in the dark to really realize its effectiveness!
What a great idea! Thank you for sharing. I often make such little lights for the children to play with so that I'm not as bothered when they get lost. I usually carry at least two lights with me other than my phone (and it's saved my hide more than once) but I'll probably order a new set of scales just for the fun of building it. One thing I've found with making them as "keyring lights" is that it matters a great deal what electrical tape you use, my preference is 3M Super 33+ and at 5-10× the cost it's still worth it. I can also imagine that with an angled slider and a slot cut into the scale it could be switched-on but that would significant increase the risk of it being drained in your pockets.
Buddy says he doesn't get the ohms and whatnot. But he engineered a light from parts and bucket of elbow grease. As an Electrician and electronics tech, I'll say you're gonna be just fine without that knowledge, my impressive friend!!! Thank you for the incredible idea! You're videos are very enjoyable and you clearly love Swiss army knives as much as we do. Thank you, Felix Bench Engineering God!
@@FelixImmler You're welcome! You've been an even brighter light for many during the pandemic. You're reminding them, they can survive and especially with Your imaginative tips and tricks. Thank you again! Happy Easter from the US!
Absolutely taking it to the next level Mr.Felix! It's always a pleasure seeing your smiling face! Your ideas are fan-frickin-tastic as always and that 100 hour light that can help you in a literal "Pinch" I love this one Mr.Felix! Thanks for sharing your tricks! Stay awesome, safe and blessed my friend and so we will see you next week! Cheers, Kimmers and Jerbs 🇨🇭🔥🔪🔥🇨🇦👍🏼
Awesome idea! If you have an old TV or similar remote that's not working anymore, you could cut out the rubber dome membrane from one of the buttons and place it directly on the battery with the LED contact poked through the side of the dome. I tried to fix an old Roku remote a few weeks ago, and seeing it this video now I can understand how ingenious the rubber dome membrane is in cheap remotes.
WOW this is going to be very handy when I want a quick light, and I have a Hunter as it's so useful as it can be squirreled away into my op's jacket pocket. Many thanks Felix, and happy Easter! Much love in friendship, Wendi 🌻
Thank you Felix for an excellent video! I've been carrying a small button-led on the key-chain rf my 91 mm. Compact, but this is a much more elegant solution. Can't wait to start modding!
Hallo Felix, ich bin immer wieder begeistert, auf was du alles kommst. Echt super gemacht!👍👍👍 Vielen Dank für's Zeigen und LG aus Wels nach St. Gallen!
What an awesome idea! With a rubber band you don't have to push the scale, so I think it could be a kind of an "on" switch. The disadvantage of the rubber band around a Swiss Army Knife is that it's make time consuming to open the tools. So I'm still thinking about a micro on/off switch. As soon as I'll find the solution I'll let you know!
Du hast dich wieder einmal selbst übertroffen🏆👍!!! Das wird natürlich umgesetzt und nachgebastelt. Genügend Griffschalen habe ich vorrätig😉 Frohe Ostern und Grüße Arno
O that's great! Although the simplicity of the switch is to be admired,,,, at risk of over complicating a brilliant idea, it could be enhanced with it repeating mode, which could have some life saving features on a dark mountain incident,,, maybe,, anyway loving your creative mod
Hi Felix!!! Long time no see!!! My fault I guess… I was sitting here and thinking, I haven’t seen Felix upload any new videos in over a month! I wonder what's going on… so, I went To my subscriptions tab and scrolled down… YOUR CHANNEL WAS NOT THERE!!!!! So, I went to your channel and looked… sure enough, I had been unsubscribed from your channel… this has been happening to me more and more here in the past couple of months… well, I resubscribed and went to check to see what I had missed… I’m all caught up now!!!!! This was such a great idea to add a little LED light to our SAKs!!!! I may have to make this litt adjustment!!! Thanks for the great idea!!!
Ahhhh, if you do both the toothpick and rear opening for the flashlight, regardless of which "side" tools you use (big knife or small knife side), you will always have an in-line light for close up work or for working inside something (like a computer). 👍
HEY! Now that's an idea I never would have thought of on my own - BRILLIANT! And it only took a tiny minimum of alteration of the scale... if I was only told about the idea, I would have imagined it to be far more complicated, but seeing it in video, it proves to be much simpler a task! (Oh, and would you forgive me, for a little kind-hearted constructive criticism? "Series" only exists in a plural form - there is no singular form, so 'serie' never existed as a real word... a single entry in a series is an 'episode' ❤ ) Another thought I never realized, is the ability to directly shape the LED itself with a file - that never would have occurred to me! Of course, I'm not very smart ahahaha THANK YOU for this video! I definitely want to try this!
