Taylor is a gifted technician without a doubt but Scotty is a supreme musician who changed music.forever. Those amazing Sun records are nothing short of miraculous with Bill and Scotty (later DJ too) backing Elvis to perfection. Any budding guitarist could do worse than listen to his performance on I Forgot To Remember To Forgot and try to reproduce it. "Where were you in 1956 when I needed you?" Mercifully and fortunately for rock n roll - nowhere to be seen! In the end what counts and what you remember is the music - not the clever twiddling. Though some musicians have it all - Charlie Parker is one that springs to mind.
I'm ashamed I've never heard of Martin Taylor. He seems like a really nice chap, but the first part of the interview was very obvious name dropping. It just comes across really strange. It may put people off which is a shame because there were some good bits later.
