Bill was really the unsung hero of that outfit, especially when it was just a trio. Not only did he fill out the bottom end, but he was also slapping out a rhythm, and... possibly most important of all... he was an absolute ham on stage. When they first went out on the road, Elvis was kind of introverted on stage, but Bill would egg him on, and he himself would whoop and holler, slap and ride his bass, and be a general cut up to loosen Elvis AND the crowd up. You can see this during a performance of Blue Suede Shoes on an episode of the Milton Berle Show (the one where they're performing on the deck of the USS Hancock).
Bill black was a hell of a bass player no doubt about it. He started with Scotty and Elvis and for three guys to sound like that that bass player must have added so many things and have to fill the whole entire room so the idea or the commentators question it's just trying to start trouble. I'm glad Scotty in Fontana didn't go along with it you cleared the question or any doubt on Bill Black.
Спасибо, очень интересно слушать воспоминания людей, которые были рядом с Элвисом и могут рассказать как было! И вдвойне приятно, что есть титры на русском.
