Hi Gabe.........I started drumming at the age of 56. I always focused on drummers anytime there was live music in spite of the fact I was classically trained on the piano. I spent a lot of time trying to find drummers that I could trust to teach the right things on RUclips. The masters are the masters but a teacher who can drum and teach at the same time.......is rare. I love both you and Adam..........you guys are excellent teachers, and I have learned much from you both!! Keep up the great work........you guys have a special talent don’t ever forget that!!

I can't tell you how much each of your video motivates me to get behind the kit, get better.... In last 3 years I've been following you I've seen you break through the roof with all the lessons and tours , vlogs, endorsement s I turned 26 today, just started getting professional lessons 6 months back, have invested almost 250k(INR ~ 3500 USD) in gear and lessons and am continuing to push my selves through all of it... And probably will find good musicians to work with and start "touring" locally... Wow this video really resonated with me! I've been playing drums since 2yrs old. Grew up playing in churches all over California then when I hit high school I stopped playing took a very long break all throughout highschool to focus on sports && just having fun lol then after high school tried taking gaming seriously I was a no life gamer then one day I just got sick of just being inside all the time then ending up trading my ps3 for a PDP cx kit with hardware && 5 or 6 zildjian zxt crashes then after a few weeks of readjusting behind the kit a took a leap out on faith && searched craigslist for bands. Joined my first at 19 just a gospel drummer with gospel chops joining a djent/hardcore band lol. Didnt even own double pedals at the time but they still let me try out && i got the gig!! Lol been with them for a year or so but the band broke up due to the vocalist liking one of the guitarists GF pics on Instagram smh hahaha. So after that band I came across a deathcore band called proclamation of the damned that was being scouted by metal blade at the time still didnt own double pedals but still got that gig too!! The guitarist of that band was friends with the drummer of alien ant farm so I got to meet him, record our first EP on his personal DW kit, && he recorded us for free. It was an eye opening experience for me that's when i kew drumming is what I wanted my career to be lol. Then finally got my first set of double pedals ever it was axis longboards that my guitarist traded an amp for so I got them for free!! (Didnt know how popular that brand was at the time lol) but to fast forward I joined band after band played for a few churches as well, got a stick endorsement with collision drumsticks, only played meinl cymbals hoping one day I would be endorsed, then soon after that I got a surprise! My daughter came into the world!! I was soooo shocked but sooo happy lol. I was 27 at the time && so I took a break from music to focus on her sold my kit all my meinl cymbals hardware etc after completing my dream setup sadly. Then poof almost 3years go by I start building gaming PCs for a living I'm 30 now my daughter will be 3 this month on the 21st, now I'm getting that itch again to get back behind kit lol. I just bought myself a tama SLP big black steel snare for Christmas now all I need is hardware, cymbals, && double pedals. My kit is not even complete yet but I'm getting offers from bands once they found out I'm back in the music scene lol. I say all this to say THANK YOU!!!! Your channel && many others has helped rekindle that spark I havent felt in a lonnnggggg time. I'm beyond blessed to have discovered your channel you motivate me to improve, learn, && expand my knowledge behind the kit. I NEVER took lessons I dont know how to read drum tabs dont know many rudiments I've just been surviving off pure raw talent && passion alone && I've gotten soooo many gigs so I know if I really try to learn the kit I can become so much more && hopefully make it to where you are now!! Thank you for all you do. If it wasnt for your videos idk where I would be right now!!

Iam also a drummer , played many shows endorsed by ocdp for many years, had 6 record deals go down the drain, started a company building swimming pools, and i hussle daily for my family I do make plenty of money But i feel i mised the boat. I stuided with top notch people and know i sound like a old rusty can. The light at the end of thr tunnel for me is my 12 year old son is playing drums well. He doesnt know but for Xmas hes Getting a satain black dw kit. Watching him play gives me inspiration to play again, seeing ur video Adds to my fire. Thanks

Snare: Remo p77 coated
Toms: Remo emperor (clear or coated)
Kick: evans Emad clear
