Bro I’m watching your videos. You have all these main steam popular RUclipsrs with hundreds of thousands of subs posting tutorials which are very short ended. The quality of videos you post is outstanding. The structure of your videos, the sources you provide, and the depth you go in is unbelievable. Just thought I’d say that. @Grifflicious forreal man. Most rocket league tutorials are garbage. Not here. One thing I might recommend is when you describe a key press, don't say the button you pressed. Say the function you pressed. Instead of saying "Preas x" say "press boost" or "press jump". X is ambiguous between Playstation and Xbox, and people use different bindings.

Tips: Speedflip doesn't make you go faster than a normal flip. Speedflip are good when you need to boost WHEN dashing. If you don't need to boost when dashing then you should use a normal flip.
FYI I am really struggling getting used to zap dashing. One thing that really helps is after the flip when you are getting ready to press jump, spam the button. It helps you dial in a time to when you should be pressing it.
I use 'need boost' to encourage my teammates to rotate. It makes them think I'm bad on defence and reminds them that they need boost and what is about to happen when their 1v2 or 1v3 fails. 50% of the time, it works every time 😎

you can jump off the ceiling, then jump again with an empty jump, to reach the ground the fastest you can do the same off the ball, jump as soon as your wheels touch the ball (in the flip reset scenario) then empty jump to reach the ground almost immediately
Excellent video. I'm really gonna miss having mates that use boost to get the boost so he can boost to another boost and then burn through that boost and get scored on because boost over ball and stuff and then sneaks in that Need Boost! during the replay. Wait... who am I kidding? lmao
The speed flip is not faster than a regular front flip, you just gain the ability to boost during the all time of your flip. So if you don't boost (like you do in the video) you don't need to speed flip. Just wave dash and front flip, or double front flip.
Great vid, only 1 thing i think you got wrong. When you are on the 0 boost acceleration drills, you say to wavedash then speedflip. This isnt actually necessary, because to my knowledge, the speed flip is only faster than other flips because you boost toward the ground. Without using boost, its just a diagonal flip with more steps.
Boost is like weed, you're addicted to it so you think you need it, but you don't need it, you can have it from time to time since it might help you but you don't always need it (I do not smoke weed so this comparison might not work for you either)

Please do some advanced dribbling like 360's or evample style stuff. If your'e capable that would be amazing as i've never seen a really good instructional on it.
In theory, is it possible to use a curve dash to get a faster fast aerial, since you need less rotation to get straight upward trajectory? Say your teammate is in net defending someone going for a reset in the air and you can disrupt from behind to hit off the backboard, can you get up faster if you curve dash, double jump, then boost up since you effectively halve the amount of backwards rotation needed? This would be extremely situation and very rarely used, obviously, but I'm interested if it would even work that way.

@@IINSPIR3DD so, at a point, GC 2ish and up, that quick chat isn’t used except for kickoffs. It’s used as “intended” at lower ranks because players just aren’t aware of things like what I talk about in this video, as well as pad rotations.
i have 2 questions and cant find a clear answer, do i need press throttle while air dribbling or not, im seeing pros doing it and some dont. and do i need to press throttle when starting an air dribble from wall/ground. Because sometimes i feel i mess up specially at wall air dribbles when i start with pressing throttle.
When you are in the air the throttle doesn't do anything. Only your boost will adjust your trajectory when your wheels aren't on the ground. A lot of people just hold the gas all the time because it's more comfortable for them, and because it doesn't do anything it doesn't matter in the air. It's just what is comfortable to you. You need to press the throttle to hit the ball off the wall to get the dribble started, but there's definitely specific timing on when to use the gas because you have to get some distance from you and the ball before you hit it off the wall.
Nope. Not necessary for air dribbles at all. But, if you want to the ceiling with only 41 boost? You will need to use throttle because it helps propel you in the air. Even just slightly, it makes a difference.
@Grifflicious are you sure? I'm almost 100% positive that using throttle in the air doesn't do anything. It would if you're driving on the wall to get to the ceiling but not if you're in the air. Right?
@@christianrobinson4526 if you jump in place, add throttle then release throttle before landing youll find yourself landing more forward than you started. Throttle will propel you forwards and reverse will propel you backwords in the air, if your on PC with bakkes mod you can also make it zero gravity to test this and actually fly around (slowly) in the air with no gravity and just using throttle to propel yourself forward.
It's a nuanced topic but the idea of "playing fast" isn't just speed in movement, but speed in decisions. To that point though, if you can't move as quickly as your mind decides to do something, then neither are any good.

@@christianrobinson4526 thank you
Throttle will propel you forwards and reverse will propel you backwords in the air, if your on PC with bakkes mod you can also make it zero gravity to test this and actually fly around (slowly) in the air with no gravity and just using throttle to propel yourself forward.
bro but i dont have any boost
Idk why i'm watching this knowing damn well i'm not gonna touch the game for the next 8-9 months
Doesn't hurt to have it in mind when you do start ;)
@@Grifflicious i am a diamond 3 and ig i'll be a bronze 2 when i come back so i'll make sure to watch this vid when the time comes 😀

Considering Rocket League rank distribution... 85% of the people watching this video should learn to play slower, not faster.
It's a nuanced topic but the idea of "playing fast" isn't just speed in movement, but speed in decisions. To that point though, if you can't move as quickly as your mind decides to do something, then neither are any good.
@@Grifflicious as a 37yo I want everyone to play slower damnit!! :D
@@HrvojeMikovic I'm 34...I feel your pain but have made the conscious decision to ignore it and push through! lol
@@Grifflicious Thought I heard "a few glasses of whiskey and couple of cigarettes" in your voice lol.
Good luck to both of us ;)
