I had a ferrel cat born in our bushes when I was a teenager. I was able to rehome one, but the other was mean! I was determined to make this kitten love me, it took a couple of weeks and he turned out to be the best kitty. :) I love that you have such a heart for animals. :)
Thank you for sharing Favor! I enjoy your vlogs - home and travel! I'm 5 years older than you, but the night sweats were the worst. They don't last forever and now I seem to just freeze all the time & wish I could have a hot flash, especially when the a/c is blowing on me at work. Last summer, we had an outdoor work function & it was an extremely humid 93° - I didn't even break a sweat.

I get Rubberish. It’s like a mix between gel and acrylic. Shellac never stayed on my nails, but Rubberish does.

Oh goodness, you've just explained my life right now to a T!! Hot flashes, weight gain, dry skin,.....it's HORRIBLE!! I'm about the same age (53) and like you I'm scared of hormone therapy due to numerous family members who had cancer. I feel your pain!! 😒🥵

Yup, hot flashes and weight gain…welcome to menopause! I take HRT which completely got rid of the hot flashes. But they do have a hormone free new drug out called Veozah if you’re willing to give that a try! As far as the weight gain, I am just like you-petite, on the slim side, could quickly lose any weight. Um, not anymore! Those days are gone! VERY difficult to drop pounds now. It’s just the chemistry change in the body and boy it sucks lol! Totally different from losing a few lbs 20 years ago! You seem to take good care of yourself as far as diet and exercise go and I think that’s all we can do-just keep taking care of ourselves!! Welcome to this new chapter of life ❤

I’ve been in menopause for 3 years and I’m 49yrs old. I finally couldn’t take the horrific hot flashes- I would be drenched in so much sweat that I looked like a wet rat! It’s so embarrassing! I finally said something to my gyno and the only thing that worked was estrogen. I think I would get 20 a day. I told her I’d rather have my period back than have these hot flashes!! lol - I think they have over the counter supplements that you could try(but do your research)!
Hi. I’ve just turned 55 and my hot flashes started the year before at 54. They do only last about a minute like you said but I mainly get them at random during the day. I don’t take anything as I am not a fan of anything besides advil but I’m hoping they won’t last for more than a year 😬
Hi Favor, this is Becky J. I decided to start commenting from my other channel but I’m still here! I am about to be 62 and I had the same hot/cold craziness. The hot flashes ended around my mid-50s. Now I’m just cold all the time. The hot flashes are miserable, but they do end! Hang in there, my friend! Hugs!

Wow! Thank you so much for your vlog today. It was so nice to see a new fur baby! We lost our Rosco a month ago today to internal bleeding and yes, it has been tough without him. We are thinking about getting a miniature or toy dog for my husband. But waiting a little longer to see how he is doing. He is still in remission. NO signs of non hodgkins lymphoma! However we are trying to get him back to normal which they said will take up to a year. Keep praying . I hope that everything goes better for you. I would ask your dr about natural herbs for your hot flashes. :) You look wonderful and once again, hugs to you and yours. Stay safe. We are due to get a couple feet of snow over the next 6 days here in MN. I hope that they are wrong.
Oh no I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a fur baby is awful, no getting around the pain and how much you miss them. Sending you warm hugs. So glad he is still in remission. Yes, I was still there, listening to you chat in the car! I heard you mention that from March 13, you were going on the Vista in 37 days. Then it dawned on me that I am also booked on the Vista for the same time: the April 20th, 8-night sailing. My boyfriend and I just booked it last Friday night. It's been 5 years since my last cruise, but actually, this will be my 12th. I am so excited to be sailing again and visiting ports I've never been to before.
I'm sorry to hear you had to cancel your Europe cruise, but I'm glad you got all your money back! Now I feel like I'm rambling on... LOL.

I live in a very cold climate in the winter, and it can be hot and humid in the summer. I would hope to have a hot flash when going out during the winter months and a cold flash in summer months. You can do this‼️😊 I didn't go on any med either.

Get a thyroid check but probably normal hot flushes. I also found that I would wake up and go into a flush almost immediately, I used a chill pillow which helped a little. When you sweat like I did, certainly the cold afterwards is caused by the sweat evaporating, so keep a sport towel handy to wick sweat away quickly.
Soy does contain an estrogen type substance but it also makes you gain weight so tricky. I tried all the natural type stuff, black cohosh etc but nothing helped. You will get through it Favor, time will do it for you!

I had a full hysterectomy at 30 (because I had breast cancer at 29). The hot flashes I had were disruptive to sleep and life in general for a couple years. I hope yours don’t last as long as long as mine did!
Oh how hard to go though breast cancer, especially so young. I hope they don't last that long, I have read up to 7 years... ugh... Sending you hugs!
Welcome to the club Favor…..I am 53 and have been having hot flashes for a couple years now. It’s menopause. When it happens, I start to feel it in my head, then it’s all over. And I find it to be really miserable. In the summer, I sleep with 2 fans pointed at me, or I can’t sleep at all. I was always a really good sleeper….not anymore. I fall asleep, but don’t stay asleep. Weight gain is also awful…….I was thin all my life…..not anymore……I’m sure I’ve gained 20 pounds……never has this happened to me. I don’t feel like myself since this all started. At first I was having so many hot flashes…..like 1 per hour at work…..I still have them every day but not as many. I really feel like I’m suffering.
I use vitamin e oil on my lips especially at night when I go to bed at night and in the morning my lips feels so good and it seems like it heals them
I used to use Vit E and JoJoba oil all the time, thank you for the reminder... need to pick some up. Hugs!

Hi Favor, I use Nivea lip balm and it work decently well for me. I have very dry hands in colder weather when heat is on, most lotions do not help. Vitamin E oil helps, or gold bond. The Bride of Atilla says Estrovent or Ambergen is good if you can take it and are not allergic. It’s over the counter at Costco or Amazon.
When my hands get really dry in the winter and the corners by my nails crack, I started using a hot wax machine with a Citrus based wax. I'll dip my hands in it up to my wrist, when I pull my hands out I spread my fingers and let excess wax drip from my finger tips. I will literally let that stay on for 5 minutes minimum. It helps SO much in a few days. I've honestly even used it on my face when I was dealing with hot flashes peri through after menapause because of how dry my face would get. I swear if I could dunk my body in one I would lol. I bought the machine YEARS ago at Meijer and the wax recently on Amazon because I couldn't find it in stores anymore. Just a suggestion for your dry hands when it's cold.

Hi Favor! My husband (a pharmacist) recommended I try Soy Milk when I was going thru menopause. I really didn't have problems with hot flashes, maybe the soy, but probably just lucky. It's worth a try if it's something you can drink. As far as the chapped lips goes I read a study once that said petroleum based lip products actually make your lips drier. Beeswax (like Burts Bees) balms are supposed to be better.

Ok I had a full hysterectomy 6 years ago and I’m now 59. I haven’t experienced the menopause symptoms . Can you have them if you’ve had a full hysterectomy?
I got out into medically induced menopause at 30 and had a full hysterectomy at 36. My Dr out me in estrogen for my hot flashes. Now I am almost 60. Dr finally made me stop taking estrogen because it does more harm then good. I sleep with a fan pointed directly at me and have the ac high in the car. I didn't sweat before menopause. So yes keep a fan handy at all times, they do lessen.
If you are into homeopathic meds you can see a pharmacist that compounds meds for that.
For chapped lips, lipmedix by blistex. I have them by the bed, by the couch, everywhere and at least 3 in my purse!!! It is the only thing that helps. Walgreens seems to always carry it.

Jealous your hair grows fast, mine never did. Worse now after "menopause" Same with my nails, they just don't grow fast then they split. Nothing seems to work. 😪 Love your babies.

Fun side not, our youngest went to her past co-workers house who turns out is actually her 2nd cousin (I have an extremely large extended family) and there was a cat who hung at their house. She TRIED to bring her in but her dog was NOT having any of that. So she had a shelter for him, fed and gave him water etc. Anyway, when her and her boyfriend went over the cat LITERALLY ran up to Alex and leapt in his arms. SO. . . . . . my daughter is now the proud owner of a beautiful black short hair kitty and I said yes that she could keep her here but she has to stay in her room because I'm allergic to cats. Really bad for long hair cats. I am a TOTAL sucker for black furry babies (IDK why but I am) So now I am inheriting a kitty for like 6 months (at least) but her boyfriend too because the kitty chose him and he was told flat out NO from his folks. Got her to the vet, no chip got her shots, got checked for fleas and preventative given. Thought I'd share that since I KNOW you would appreciate the story.
When I put the shellac or gel on my nails from the salon they seem to grow and double the pace. My nail tech says it is because they are strong and don't get bent or snagged. I ask for a light coat and not to damage my nails.. that way when they all get the same length I can have the gel removed. Dip destroyed my nails before so I will never do that again.

So, I had a total hysterectomy early 40's (my mom had at 28) and because I was so young Dr put me on HRT. I gained 60 pounds (over time) but I quit the hormones after a couple years which meant the hot flashes came back. At first they were awful but they did slowly go away as much as they go away - older women have told me they never really go away. I'm 66 now and probably have one a day and mostly as I lay down to go to sleep. I also think I may have more but I'm just so used to them now and when I lay down and am still I just notice them. The wors part about postmenopausal to me. is one of those subjects I wouldn't post about publicly:)

I had a full hysterectomy. But I also couldn’t use hormones. A few years ago I found out some of my issues were thyroid problems.

I'm going through same thing. Hot then cold. My weight I gained 8 lbs last 3 weeks... so frustrated our cruise is in 38 days. I'm 48 and I think it is premenopause I don't know really so frustrated...

Hi! I drink green tea, my electrolytes and coffee and no grains and no sugar at all. I personally can’t have almonds and peanuts. So basically I eat the fage 5% and equip prime protein along with a mostly carnivorous diet. Only for a few weeks then I go back to my normal no grain gluten free diet. Hugs!

Hi, favor my problem is finding a lipstick. I have very full lips and I like bronze colors. I don't like Matt lipstick because I feel it makes my lips bigger. I don't wear eyeshadow. I don't wear mascara. Don't wear blush.I just use a shiny lip gloss.
I used to have full lips so I understand. Flower Beauty has some terrific lipsticks ( on Amazon and Ulta) I have found they have a great formula with a satin finish. Hugs!

Is your thyroid working right?
I need to get it checked for sure. So far I am the only female in my family not on medication for my thyroid. Both my parents and grandparents had them removed. Last year, however, my numbers were fine ( well, on the low side of normal). Hugs!
