  • Some of the best moments in DCI in my opinion. Yes it says 202 and it’s supposed to say 2021.

I don't think these are classified as rips. More like Runs or Licks

If the trumpets of heaven don't sound like 2013 crown I will be severely disappointed

Why do the 2013 mellos sound so much more powerful, is it because they truly are or is it the flomarching mics?

12 and 13 are two of the loudest b flat hornlines ever. They aren't close to what they used to be volume wise. Just another side effect of mics...

@@as_sv9788 yeah I noticed that crown 2023 had loud moments but it seems older crown shows were much more powerful, I would assume this is also because the brass writing has changed

@@Siick_GradySHORTS they were louder this year than last, but still not comparable to what it was before 17.

Crown 2011 opener was probably their loudest moment

@@CrownFan not as much as you'd think. The contrast from basically silence to fff is what makes that sound so loud. When you go through 12 there are a couple moments that blow that out of the water. In the first movement they play a ff sustain for two measures into ffff for two more that is absolutely insane. As well as the balled. Accented quarters into the full spread ffff sustain which is probably up there with the loudest b flat moments in dci if not the loudest. Then of course the the hit at beginning of the closer. The context in which loud is played has a great effect on how loud we hear it to be. It's the same way that drill looks faster when two lines are moving across each other in oppositing directions. Our brains can be tricked very easily.
