Drove post facelift. Really enjoyed it but ride killed it for me. Spent a little more on a Civic RS which is much more liveable day to day. Yes CVT but it’s really not that bad in the Honda’s. Got 7 years warranty too.
I recently test drove a 2022 Hyundai i30 N-Line and then a 2022 Cerato GT Sedan back to back on the same day (the local dealerships are right next door to each other). I drove them over the same, familiar country road route near where I live. The Cerato GT has a firm, yet smoother (more comfortable) ride on those (real world) back roads. The noise level was better (quieter) in the Cerato which may be about tyres or something else. The acceleration pick-up was more pronounced in the Cerato GT - it's quicker - even though both vehicles are using the exact same power unit and drive train. So that was surprising. Both cars have a lot of kit. They are well presented vehicles with obvious cabin equipment similarities, although styling finishes are different. I think the driver's seat in the Hyundai might have better bolstering (is more comfortable) than the Cerato, but the driving position is good in both vehicles. They are both very good cars. The Cerato GT Sedan has the sweeping lines of the Hyundai i30 N Fastback, which I find visually appealing. I found the Cerato GT to be the better package compared to the new i30 sedan N-Line, even though it's about $5k cheaper - another surprise. Kia's 7 yr warranty is an added benefit but didn't influence my experience. So, I've bought one.
The more I analyse it that's quite a bit of styling and tech for what isn't an awful lot of money in todays expensive world. Kia and Hyundai are well on track to be the next vehicle superpowers.

I have the 2019 Cerato GT - it's a multitool. It has a 7year warranty, amazingly economical if you don't nail it everywhere (i regularly see mid-5L/100km on the hwy), seats four tall adults easily, has a large boot (the hatch is good, the sedans is huge), it handles fantastically, it's quick without being stupidly fast, yet docile enough to go to the supermarket in. If you're someone looking for a sporty multi-role vehicle it is great value for money. 5 years ago I wouldn't have given a second thought to owning a Kia, but I really can't fault it (other than the firm ride, but I see that as a characteristic).
I Love the Red color and the new Look of the front of the car. Kia finally added everything In the back seat area that should be there. I must save some money to put a down payment on one.
It's a shame I love the idea of the Cerato gt much more than the n-line. But I had to get rid of my Skoda RS because of the unforgiving suspension. Give me the GT with adaptive suspension.
put things like adaptive suspension in it and you'll change a $34k car to $45k. If they had that, buyers would also expect more niceties like increased sound deadening, laminated windows, HUD etc. Maybe if they had a model above GT, but this is at a good pricepoint as is
Their prices are going up steadily, soon KIA won’t be the “ deal “ they were before .Plus, I personally think red stitching is stressful. Red is a stressful colour to look at when used in interiors , white or light grey stitching would be much better and look more elegant while still sporty. Finally it’s too expensive , if it were like 3 k more than the Sport + and under 35 k maybe, but at that price I would rather go for the Sport +.Being 6.1 with a big build, after reading the comments below about the tight sports seats ; those might also not work for me, but I have not tried them yet. The Sport and Sport + are still pretty good value though, and I bet most people would go for one of those, although KIA needs a new and updated engine on those soon as the 2.0 litre although not bad is a bit outdated .
Stressful? Really? Red and grey go well. Who looks inside their interior and sees red stitching and then is put into a state of stress and anxiety? What's happened to people today? If stitching stresses you how on earth do you cope with life? Or driving or a job? And If you're stressed why buy a sports hatch with a turbocharged engine and dual clutch gearbox? Bizarre..

Picking up the new GT in 3 weeks. Would have been a touch nicer if KIA had included 'voice activation' with the new infotainment system, especially with all the mobile phone detection cameras going on in NSW (which I think are a good thing, not so with removing speed camera warning signs).
@@AllFunAndJames For a June delivery date it was Steel Grey, for mid July it was Snow White Peral or White with the dealer I end up going with so I chose Snow White Pearl. I would have gone with the new Horizon Blue if it was on the menu but the dealer who had that colour in stock wouldn't even come near, let alone match, the trade-in price I was able to achieve with the first mentioned dealer. I considered the pre-facelift Cerato GT in 2018. However, when I test drove it, the suspension was very unforgiving around town. In 2018 it would have been different but unfortunately in 2021, the lack of wireless CarPlay and a digital instrument cluster rules this car out for me.
Bizarre..

Wireless smartphone charging but wired Apple CarPlay / Android Auto? Crazy!
Android auto is wireless
2020 car $30k this one $37k with same 150kw engine small update and a sunroof, not even a full panaramic one at that. Not worth the extra money even in the new economy
Nice budget car. The fuel consumption could be better though.
I love like new car 2022 Kia cerato gt hachback auto 4 cylinder twin turbo charged. Very good looking car 👍👍👍👍👍
Twin turbo?
Picking up the new GT in 3 weeks. Would have been a touch nicer if KIA had included 'voice activation' with the new infotainment system, especially with all the mobile phone detection cameras going on in NSW (which I think are a good thing, not so with removing speed camera warning signs).
Picking mine up mid July also Mate (In runway red) - What colour you getting?
@@AllFunAndJames For a June delivery date it was Steel Grey, for mid July it was Snow White Peral or White with the dealer I end up going with so I chose Snow White Pearl. I would have gone with the new Horizon Blue if it was on the menu but the dealer who had that colour in stock wouldn't even come near, let alone match, the trade-in price I was able to achieve with the first mentioned dealer. Enjoy the Red, my 2015 Cerato S is that colour and its a nice colour which has not faded at all since new. I just wanted a different colour this time around, but not Steel Grey or Black.
@@nevillegreg1 good choice, I don’t like cars that are the same colour as the road as they appear camouflaged and harder to see especially on a wet winters evening…I near got run over by a camouflaged electric suv…colour blended in and silent, a deadly combination imho. Enjoy your new car, cheers
Amazing value at 37k. Now, can someone lend 37k? Thank you.
That car looks better than a Hyundai. I would buy a car on looks. Forget about this 'how it drives' thing.
I considered the pre-facelift Cerato GT in 2018. However, when I test drove it, the suspension was very unforgiving around town. In 2018 it would have been different but unfortunately in 2021, the lack of wireless CarPlay and a digital instrument cluster rules this car out for me. But this car has aged better than the i30 in my opinion.
This KN brand makes good looking cars
why doesn't the US get these cool cars?????
I literally own a 2021 Kia Forte GT manual. This car will replace the current Forte, but it's a mid cycle refresh, so nothing too crazy has changed from what you could buy right now.
Hatchbacks don't sell well in North America. You guys can wait.
I do prefer the look of the previous model. The front of this car is to sharp and edgey.
Thankyou
It’s now a mini-K5!
very nice car
Looks odd from front
Alacrity!
I just don’t like the frumpy styling. Especially the rear.
Fair enough. The shape of the hatch is something of an acquired taste.
Wow....just was commenting in the Aussie car spotter faceboook group now, someone spotted a gorgeous little red Kia Cerato Coupe!
This Cerato GT, well it looks rubbish, terrible grille, though I'm sure its a far nicer driver than the old Cerato Coupe...
2 subs!
Not for 36K USD.!
It is 36k AUD - less if you shop around a bit
💗
excuse me, but the front is very ugly, the old version 2018 is simple and much better
God that KN I mean Kia logo is a train wreck.
