      Luddite moment. What exactly is so appealing about the basic, low rent gauges in this car. Digital, like on the i30 sedan is customisable, have them look analogue or digital and customise every aspect of them.

    • @User-cb4jm
      @User-cb4jm Год назад

      @@buncha5651 who? Car companies know how to make money and the fact a digital dash is enough to drive people to get a cost option shows there’s demand for it. There’s a reason why there’s only gauges on older low end models, like this Cerato and the cheap Tucson or Sportage variants. The expensive ones have a beautiful sweeping digital dash.
      It’s completely customisable - they can look analogue if you’re a Luddite and scared by things like these, but the rest of us can adjust the colour, design and menu options to our preference.

    Hello to my fellow Cerato GT owners. Just purchased the sedan in steel grey. I'm in Perth and paid $38,500 and I had them throw in GT mats, slimline weather shields + full tank of fuel. I probably could have pushed a little harder given that the salesperson didn't need to consult the dealer principal for approval but I'm happy nonetheless. I waited 2.5 weeks from signing contract to delivery. Lucky indeed. I also had the Kia dealership do all of the aftercare (paint protection, interior protection and window tinting). I paid $1650 for that complete package. They started at $2500. Just be firm but fair. I called my preferred dealership on the morning that I was prepared to do the deal and told them I'd be in front of them within an hr if they accepted my terms. Was told to get my backside into the dealership ASAP and they would do the deal. FYI, I test drove the GT at another Kia dealership but didn't like the attitude of the salesperson and felt as though they didn't truly want to sell me a car. I hope this helps anyone else that's in the market for the GT to negotiate themselves a decent deal. Don't fall for the sob stories. Tell them straight what you're willing to pay and what you'd like included on the basis that you're ready to sign the new car contract immediately. Good luck and safe/fun driving.

    I own the kia cerato GT (2023 model)
    a couple of pointers for those wanting to buy the car:
    this car handles insanely especially considering the rivals, sure the ride is a little on the firm side but thats for todays standard, i had a 2016 polo gti (1.6L turbo) and in my honest opinion that was way more stiffer this isn't uncomfortable its honestly fine wouldn't mind it being a little softer but then again its a sport hatch if you want a softer ride go for the sport+ but honestly this is a perfect daily and i guarantee this will be perfect for like 90% of people considering it.
    Taking materials into consideration is kind of invalid as this has a lot packaged in a relatively "cheap" price considering what its suppose to be, but even then the touch points feel good obviously there will be scratchy material near the bottom but i wouldn't say a corolla is much more 'luxury' then this (i have been in a zr corolla before 2022 model),
    this doesn't have any of the new kia and hyundai annoying active features which beep and bong at you which is really good and i would also recommend anyone getting this car to add floor matts as the actual carpeting feels thin (cost cutting in order to give you more in other areas) and lastly i would recommend to learn about breaking into a car engine (owners manual online for cerato should talk about it) the dealership told me new cars dont really require them but id rather be safe then sorry.
    some things i would want is 360 camera , heated steering wheel, digital cluster and wireless apple carplay. But seeing current kia cluster only the middle is customisable mainly so im not missing out much, 360 camera is great but by no means is the car huge so its not a big deal and the sensors and visibility is great so it doesn't bother me, and heated steering wheel is just me asking for more 😂 but having a wireless charger but no wireless apple carplay bugs me a lot but hey better then nothing.
    all around i personally think this car is just the best value in its segment its a perfect car and you wont be disappointed in getting this, if you have any questions about the car ill be happy to answer them the best i can! 😄

      @satinder4367 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@JASHVEER22 im not too sure in parts availability but knowing that this car has been out in the market for a decent amount of time i would assume the availability of parts should be fine but again im not too sure,
      however fuel economy is great depending on your driving style, i drove the cerato from canberra to gold coast and averaged around 5.6L/km - 5.8L/km on smart mode and around town i would get around 7.5L/km with normal mode, however due to the exhaust sounding very nice i drive it a little more aggressive then usual still keeping it in normal mode and i average around 9-10 L/km with aggressive-ish driving.
      im currently thinking of selling this car in the next maybe 1-2 years as im saving up money to get the bigger brother, the i30N sedan facelift, the only reason im selling it is because im very into cars and i always loved the i30n but if that car didn't exist i would definitely keep this car for at least 5 years, i would consider selling maybe after 6-7 years as thats when the warranty expires and thats also when the service cost is going to be on the expensive side, however this car is beautiful and genuinely its a solid all around performer perfect daily yet sporty car .

    I owned one of the first 2019 Cerato GT sedans in the country and, ironically, am about to sell it tomorrow. It's been a fantastic car but has some quirks. Paul's review is just about spot on. It's not a car that will satisfy everyone, so you need to know what you want before purchasing one.
    It's VERY firm, and on the day to day run, it CAN become a little jarring. As a 'family car', there are better options plain and simple. However, if you want a car that you can have fun with, this is a brilliant package. It's seriously quick when you get up and going and the handling is GREAT. The space on offer is actually pretty good too (sedan).
    The ride noise could be better. Not a deal breaker for me, but it's noticeable if you're more familiar with a quieter cabin. The other downside is definitely the DCT - at low speeds, particularly when you first get going, it's annoying/grabby. This and the firm handling are really the only two negatives, but again, not deal breakers. If Kia can at least improve the DCT, the car will be better for it.
    It's pretty efficient (averaging around 6.5), fun, handles well and has good tech and safety equip. I'll miss it when I sell it, but I need a bigger sedan for a growing family.

    I've owned my pre-facelift GT hatch since 2019 and it's great - if you can deal with the ride. Fuel economy on the highway is around 5.5l/100km, nothing has broken or fallen off, no rattles or creaks, probably the easiest FWD car to drive in the wet that I've ever driven. Having driven manuals all my life I don't mind the DCT as I simply treat it as a manual with a computer-controlled clutch and not as a traditional automatic. It's an absolute riot on twisty roads, but as Paul said you pay for it with the ride - which to be fair it does soften noticeably after the first 5,000km (the car on test here looks to have less than 2,000km) - but even at 35,000km it's still very much on the firm side of the equation.

    • @joytech23
      @joytech23 Год назад

      Funny you mention the driving in the wet bit, i noticed that too. It honestly has so much stability and grip in the wet, and if you push too hard it communicates what it's doing well and doesn't overreact with stability control so you can easily predict what the car is going to do.

    One major thing everyone here forgets to recognise - INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION (IRS). This Cerato GT and I30 N Line still come with the IRS, whereas pretty looking Mazda 3 downgraded it to torsion beam rear suspension. Did Mazda drop the price accordingly? Nope of course not, in fact they upped the price. That is what you should look at folks, not the pretty exterior design or nice colour.

    • @jeremybean-hodges6397

      It’s not so much what config it has that matters as it is how it actually drives.
      I drove both the Cerato GT and the Mazda 3, and simply put, I could live with the firm ride on the 3 but not the Cerato, which was incredibly crashy.
      So yes, I would prefer to have IRS on the 3, but overall it is still a better suspension setup for me.

    I'm not a sedan guy, but I bought the MY22 GT over the Mazda 3 Astina back in '21. It was just simply a more fun car to drive, it had more power, had ventilated seats, had a wireless charger, had a touchscreen instead of the ridiculous rotary dial, AND was the cheaper option by about 6 k AUD
    Granted, the Kia didn't have the 360 cameras, or the beautiful interior, which the Mazda had. But I absolutely enjoyed every minute of driving the Kia over the past year and a half. It was incredible value for money and 15/10 would recommend.

    Test drove one recently… what an engine, good value, but the ride was just far too much hard work for a day to day drive, and the steering a bit leaden. The ride's not just firm; it's genuinely crashy, and feels like it's got next to no travel.
    Disagree with you about the transmission; the DCT really suits the engine with its snap-snap changes. A conventional torque converter would blunt its power; it makes sense for an SUV like the Seltos, but not a performance car like the Cerato GT.

The DCT is something you need to get used to; it could be more refined, but for a sub-$40k car, it's good enough. It's not an Audi or a Merc. The grip on the Michelins is insane. You'd nearly get over-confident, the car is absolutely glued to the road.
    The "faux-leather" seats wear fairly quickly, which is a downside. The wired Android Auto is prehistoric, really... I bought a wireless adapter for it that just sits in the car. Works fine. The JBL system is not the best in High Fidelity audio, but it makes enough noise to be happy about. The 2 Subs are pretty good!
    Servicing every 10k kms is a bummer, and the capped price is not capped very cheaply, either. "Oh well".
    All in all, for a car that cost me a touch under $40k (with everything I wanted -interior & exterior protection, front & rear Blackvue cameras and dark tinting), I am a very happy boy.

    Got the previous 2019 model and it's great value for money and bang for buck. The ride does get annoying around town sometimes but throwing it into corners or going for a country drive makes you forget about the ride and remind you why you bought it in the first place. When I drive other cars now the suspension feels too soft and sloppy in comparison.

I will be picking it up in about a week and I am very excited. I must say I am VERY impressed with the car. It has many features that a middle aged woman probably wont make fall use of but it will be nice to drive my short commute to work and home each day.
    I pushed the dealer and he came down on a few occasion with the price and I got an extremely good trade in deal for my 2009 Cerato which is a sedan, I must say I am looking forward to ditching the sedan and going back to a hatch.
