MAKING A FAUX BRICK WALL LOOK REAL
After being quoted $1,500 just for bricks for the accent wall in my shop… I was like.. no. BUT, luckily, my journey into DIY started as a broke college kid, and I’ve gotten pretty good at faking the expensive stuff. So, I made this brick wall not only just look realistic with MDF panels and some of my favorite DAP Products… and, I also made it happen for under $250.

WOW! I have seen other folks use those panels to make "brick" walls, but none of them even remotely looked like a real brick wall. You have worked a miracle, Congratulations!

You so nailed this wall! (in so many ways!) It looks like a real brick wall with the shmear. During the process it looked janky but with the plastering it looks amazing! Thats why we love you and your real content. Cant wait to see what else you have in store for us.

Awesome transformation!! Great job Sam!! I have a giant brick wall on my back porch. I've never been too fond of red brick and was going to paint it knowing it'd take a little away from the 132yr old charm. This plaster idea is the absolute perfect compromise!! Thank you!!
Proud of you, Girl, that brick is hard work. I did a wall, only 2 panels, then stamped and individually colored each brick. Also instead of grout, I used paint mixed with play sand.
It’s a lot, but so worth it when it works!

Sam you did great. Glad to see you wearing a respirator. I see SO many youtube woodworkers inviting lung cancer by not wearing one and then doing things like using a circular saw with no dust protection. No shame in protecting your health. Even with dust protection I still wear one. Not fun but better than the alternative. Love your channel as always!

The plaster came out nicely; we used joint compount before painting the walls, but yours always gives you the option to paint later of you don't like the limewash look.
Yess! I considered it, but I like the texture of the plaster and how easy it is to break away for more of a brick look. 😊

I think you did a great job on the brick wall. You managed to cover all of the seams very well. I guess my only thing is that it looks so white and new. I might go over it with some coffee or something to give it a little more age. Your logo looks fantastic up there too.

I love the plaster look! Those panels always read bad 1970s decor to me, and the addition of texture and weathering works to disguise that. The logo is fantastic there!!

A little! We painted his brick panels, so we used joint compound (since it has to be sealed or it will yellow). 😊
