- EXTREME Basement Laundry Room Makeover | Start To Finish DIY!
After 2 years, it is finally time to renovate our creepy basement. I’m on a mission to turn this 750 square foot, unfinished basement into usable living space, starting with our laundry room! My goal is to transform this dark laundry room into a bright, functional space, one project at a time!

I love the cape cod home remodel is this the basement for that house
how about a laundry chute, from upstairs. a bit old fashioned, but it will save you a great deal of time, dragging your baskets down the stairs. just a suggestion. and your style is good enough for home design.

Two thoughts; 1) Seal the cut ends of your countertops so they are not ruined by water. 2) That dead corner can be turned into a storage space for the utility room.
A tip for the countertops. When cutting laminate I always seal the cut end with silicone to keep water out & help out last a lot longer. Particularly important in kitchens & laundries.

Sometimes when we are frustrated and in the thick of things we begin to doubt ourselves, but the key is to take a break, eat, hydrate, then hit it again. 8 and half minutes in and I have to say I liver the utility hallway. That stuff is a pain if just plastered(or drywalled) over with a small door opening to a panel. Also glad you love the ceiling, but I could not handle that... creepy basement + open slate space in the ceiling, I would be constantly feeling like something is watching me from above.
When ever the furnace or water heater have to be replaced. The will have a real fun time getting it through that door.
There are two entrances to the boiler room and they fit through both doors. I also just replaced them this year. So, hopefully we’re good for a while. ☺️
I never knew a basement could be transformed so dramatically. The ingenuity and DIY skills turned what seemed like a lost cause into a beautiful, inviting space. It's proof that with a little creativity and effort, any room can become a dream room!
I'm seriously impressed! The transformation was like something out of a home improvement show, with the dark and dingy basement turning into a cozy haven.

I need to get the same french drain waterproofing done to my own basement and was hoping you would talk about that process a bit. Did you contact multiple contractors and have them bid the job? How long did it take? What was the price-range? My basement is also ~750 sq feet and would LOVE to know all these things. 🙏

That looks fantastic! I think my favorite bit is the ceiling. It really finishes the space without closing you in, like a lot of low drywall ceilings in basements. I also think a great big sink in a basement just makes sense...there are so many things that you don't want to use the kitchen or bathroom sinks for, and a big basement sink works really nicely.
