  • Some more jamming with the MMB 14 fret model. Those days I retourned from vacances and I had to jam a little on the guitar. It was off for two weeks, so ...
The camera lense is dirty somehow. Sorry for that.

Never heard of this brand. Sounds great.

Yes, definitely. I never had a real original National or modern NRP guitar. But compared to all other (budget and mostly China produced guitars) I owned over the years those beat them in any aspect. Plus they are professionally set up before the delivery. Great sound.

    Hey
Yes i used to have a metal bodied honey dipper for a very short time. It sounded like the Gretsch Alligator but just more metal like, more like duolian or smth (but not close to real duolian). In my opinion the gretsch models can sound pretty good if you adjust them the right way (what most models needed i could try). My way is the Michael Messer route... best quality and sound and pre delivering adjustments on budget resonators i know.

Sounds awesome, and am seriously considering one of these. What strings are you using there, Jan?

      Hello there Andrew,
I play 016 to 056 nickel or phosphor bronzed strings. If possible the ones by new tone/Michael Messer (these have lower tension but the right thickness, last long and di not brake in case if switching tunings often like i do).
The thicket strings drive the cone better and the thick melody string makes it easier to play nice sustaining slide tones...

What is the action like, especially at the first five frets?

Have you ever played a brass-bodied Gretsch Honeydipper? If you hve, how do they compare?
