Indeed. I guess it is because it is a flat back which always has a bracing there and because the rosewood is a dark wood. All my other Brükos have the arched back and no bracing on that side. Thank you and best to you, Jan😊

Thank you very much. I sometimes leave those Pyramid strings on or keep going with those. The longnecks have them in the video (besides the low g/a strings on the mahogany). Otherwise I use Hannabach Goldin soprano strings on Brükos with pleasure. Also do I use Christopher Davis-Shannon's "The Tinman's Magic Ukulele Strings" (like on the Pineapple, but with a low g). I never understood the (let's say)"bashing" against the Pyramid flourcarbon strings anyways. I've purchased some Sets for myself for the longnecks and other models too and always keep the swapped Sets for back up. But that's just me. Thanks for asking. Best Jan

Thanks for your reply Jan! I’ve just bought a pair of Brükos recently and absolutely love them. I’m not finding the pyramids so bad but wanting to experiment a bit with other strings so was curious what you’d found with yours. I think I will try some Hannabach Goldin strings on one of my Brükos to see how they sound. So sad that these wonderful Brükos will no longer be made! Thanks again and best wishes, Sarah

Thank you very much. Somehow I very often end up with folk style music and add the one or other musical twist to it (like a jazzy or bluesy touch). You're right with that one. At least my music is influenced by lots of styles (like folk, bluegrass and similar). Best, Jan

Thanks for asking and your encouragement. To me arched back add a little depth/snap to the sound BUT I can not tell it for each model as a basic rule. I had flat models with an arched back that sounded more barky as an other one but then the material also effects everthing too. Recently I gained a cedar top/rosewood back and sides model with a dlat back and is my boomiest model. I would summarize the arched back Trends to add a small amount of bark to the instrument but I would not weicht that statement 100%. 😅 I hope that helps a bit.... Best, Jan

Hello, thank you for reaching out to me. I would summarize every Brüko sounds like a Brüko ukulele. Within that tonal "family" (due to the way of construction) are differences and even two maple S001 models do not have to Sound "The same". I think the second S001 demoed here is build with a certain chunk of wood from a tree Mr Pfeiffer calls "wild" maple. The maple longneck is built from this wood two. Lovely. Recently I found out a 1920s Oscar Schmidt Soprano - which I will demo soon - has a sound very close to what Brüko sounds like. They started building in the 1930s and I think get better and at the best point with Mrs and Mr Pfeiffer building them.
