I always get sand in my pool from the sand filter even when it was new and put together correctly. So I still don’t understand.
If your getting sand in the pool its going to be from it not put together properly or the wrong size sand was put in.

Sure. Make sure things are closed off at the pool. (skimmer and jets)
I have a brand new filter but not getting any water flow coming out, also when I backwash and then rinse, the sand is coming out with the water. Do you think I have the wrong sand
Turn filter dial valve to recirc and see what that does for flow. As for sand coming out. Is that they backwash hose or the jets into the pool?
@@VIPPoolsandSpas backwash hose and a little bit coming from the jets going into the pool, but barely any water pressure
@@tysonpeter try turning the filter to recirc and see if it changes. Is there full pressure coming out of backwash hose? Are you getting water coming into the pool pump.
@@VIPPoolsandSpas jus tried it on recirculate, still nothing coming from jets. Backwash seems to work fine it lowered my pool water level

Why bother fixing or replacing a sand filter? Sand filters are inferior in every way to cartridge filters. The worst things about sand filters are they waste water and chemicals through backwashing, don't filter down as fine, have considerably less filter area, so need cleaning more frequently. I just can't see why they are so popular.
Never had a cartridge filter that worked better than sand, and you can't waste water.lol Do you even know how the water cycle works? You backwash, and the water evaporates back into the sky. If you're worried about a water bill, you probably shouldn't get a pool.
I hear your point. BUT. Not everyone can use cartridge filters as they might have more vegetation around their property and that will cause it to clog a lot faster. They are great when theres no trees or shrubs around. AND. They are the worse if your pool goes green. Will take twice the time to clean and they clog up fast. This is why I always suggest to put a skimmer filter sock around the skimmer basket. This will prolong the filters and there's less taking the filter apart and cleaning the filters. There's always PROS and CONS for anything you buy and what works for you doesn't mean it works for others. People need to get a filter that fits their property and whats around it. I would have both on my system.
