Which is weird because it is grossly obvious that Charlize Theron knows how to do push ups. Starting to think Ridley Scott's in the same camp as George Lucas. Great at composing together stories but shit at being a director.
Ironically, she died because ran out of stamina and tripped.

IMO I wish they made these great Sci fi movies every year, i know not everyone loved it, but every time i watch it i'm blown away, fully entertained.
There were some goofy stuff but I enjoyed prometheus.

@@hanzen5174the bad film editing and some plot holes (scientists being extremely dumb for the most part) made it mediocre at best. Some cut scenes from final product were super relevant for the story, but they removed them... so yeah it's just mediocre because of this. (visuals and music are really good though, it's also entertaining to watch and some performances/characters are 10 out of 10 imo -charlize & Fassbender-)
Prometheus lowkey being a “Christmas” movie is kind of weird, but I respect that

i always enjoy these scenes from alien movies. i dont know why. the rousing from hypersleep. the automatic systems activating to bring the ship back to active status. the passengers reacting to waking up, some throwing up, some feeling like shit, some already doing push ups and pull ups (always the badass women with something to prove). the breakfast meal recovery scenes, taking in lots of calories and protein to get back to full strength, the chit chat about the mission if its just another routine survey without realizing in every movie that this will be the fight of their lives and they'll all die. why are these scenes so enjoyable??
i think the same applies to movies where you see the characters in boot camp, in training etc. i just love these scenes

In both Prometheus and Covenant I felt like the crew choice was the most unbelievable part and immediately broke all immersion.
Nobody would choose that crew. Nobody would let them past the selection process. Most aren’t even eligible for the selection process.

The future of development in space lies in automated mining of small bodies.
I feel the same money being invested in Mars should be invested in self-assembly bots and craft that can track and land on comets/asteroids.
The corporation might have chosen them for their ignorance, greed and inexperience. Maybe even as test subjects.

Alien1 was the best Alien Crew ever. Alien2 Crew was right behind it. we all wished for everyone to survive. and then came this crew when we wished they'd all die :)
Because those crews had chemistry and knew each other. Everything seemed very natural. Here, they don’t even make an attempt at these folks knowing each other. So they come off as cold, cardboard characters and David (an Android) is the most likable character because he seems to be the only one making an effort at acting natural.
This is so true apart from I'd have the Aliens crew ahead of the Alien crew. It's amazing how they got everything so wrong with this crew, they almost couldn't have done worse with the casting & dialogue. There just wasn't anyone to root for at all. Right from this scene I couldn't care less about any of them apart from Shaw, maybe.

I absolutely LOVE this movie! Despite the "plot holes" that some talk about, I think this is a really bad ass movie! Great story. Fantastic acting. Brilliant music! Awesome FX!
Technically, a plot hole is something that completely contradicts the whole narrative, not something stupid that happens.
PROMETHEUS is a fun movie to watch. I go back to it all the time.

Worst scientists ever in this crew. You don't take off your helmets - you don't touch oozing alien black goop - and you don't baby talk - then try to pet some alien serpent that looks like a mutant cobra.
Otherwise - its a great film.

That redhead being snarky with the biologist was played by the same guy who played Solomon Lane in Rogue Nation and Fallout of the MI movies. Sean Harris.

In all the ALIEN movies that has the cryo-sleep scenes, the OG one the crew of the Nostromo awaken slowly, and rather quite elegantly. Whereas in Prometheus, the protagonist awakens puking out gloopy goop... if I were to choose which I’d like to be coming out of a 1-2 year sleep in, it would be the Nostromo. 😎
The S.S. Minnow had a smarter crew.
Its was explained in an earlier script that the crew were all hired by weylands daughter. She purposely hired mostly idiots because she wanted the mission to fail because her father did not accept her. A good explanation? Not really, but it's an explanation.

As much as people rag on Prometheus I LOVE IT, and I am a lover of the Aliens series as a whole (especially the first two films of course), and I feel like this one def has some errors with the overall timeline but it's still such an interesting film to watch, Scott makes good movies, nuff said!!!...

When I was 15 I used to be huge fan of this film. Now I'm in my 20's and I realize that this film sucks. Sucks big time.
The film itself is not that terrible. Not great but not terrible.
What sucks is that it is Ridley Scott coming back to a franchise he had forsaken and borking up two decades of stories from people that actually cared about that franchise. The Engineers' "black goo" and David creating the Xenomorphs is just crap. I'll take the Jockey Race and the Xenomorphs being an ancient biological weapon anyday over Prometheus/Alien Covenant. Hell. I'll even take the cheese factory known as AvP over them.
Visually it's pretty, like most modern films, but lacks believably.

Talk about great cast great budget and the worst writing imaginable....such an effort wasted.
The punk rocker geologist with a heavy Irish accent was a miscast. Wong was added because he's Asian, while the captain was cast as Black to give the movie an overall sense of diversity.
I'm surprised they didn't add an LGBT crew in the mix.
