    Man, the thought of landing on a planet while knowing you are one of the only human that ever travelled furthest in space, and upon landing on said planet, you found an artificial structure/objects, that you 100% sure aren't human-made, because again, you're among the 1st human to have travelled there, is so staggering.

      Exciting and terrifying because you don't know if that civilization that built them are benevolent or hostile and if they are the latter what do you do if they come after you? Even worse if they seek to obliterate your homeworld (Earth)....which is actually what happens in this case. But ya I'd be freaking out if I was on that ship and saw those weird buildings. It'd be fascinating to explore at the same time.
      Another part of me would be like we better gtfo. Actually a situation like that would be ideal for drones/robots to explore first in case there is something dangerous there. Who knows if it's carrying deadly pathogens or creatures. It's insane to send in humans first. I think one day this will happen, maybe hundreds or thousands of years from now when our descendants travel to other star systems.

But as far as scientistst and explorers go they would have still been amazed that they found anything at all. Traces of a civilisation, technology from alien beings. It doesn't matter in the end. Because it would still be the most important braketrough in human history if they found even just traces of intelligent life. Leave alone any technology.

    brilliant scifi project linked up with a horrible disaster one. prometheus was a good start to explain engineer's universe but they screwed up in covenant and we are back to the style of full arcade xenamorphs hunt.

    oh yeah, this is when a ship full of "scientists" decide to immediately land, no probe, not even a single orbit. they magically immediately find the structure they need to, then get into a race to be the most unscientific person in human history. From removing our helmets immediately to sticking unknown substances and lifeforms right into our faces. Lets not forget the angry geologist, who has never seen anything interesting in his life, except rocks.

    This just made zero sense to me. In NO WAY would you EVER land the primary mothership on an alien world. You leave the primary ship in orbit and go down in a dropship. Also as the ship enters the atmosphere all the shields are lowered with all that fragile glass. No one's belted in, the captain standing like an EDM DJ holding that handlebar. They could have tried for some science accuracy on the atmospheric entry. Movie has too many stupid flaws but can't list them all but this scene really bugged me.

    This movie had so much potential. It is frustrating it is so poorly written. I didn’t give a F about the characters. I couldn’t invest in them at all. I just don’t understand why the characters had such dumb lines. Why was Vickers such a B? Why have her do push-ups after hyper sleep? Why was Charlie such an asshole to David? Why keep Weyland being on board a secret? Why was the geologist guy such a dick? Everyone was soooo unlikeable with maybe the exception of Dr Shaw. At least I was rooting for her. There are a few movies that while watching I find myself wondering “WHY?!?!?” And this is one of the movies. It had so much potential!!!!!!!!!

    IMO:- a well put together film but IMO the landing scene in alien had more tension and better music. here the (excellent) pilot made it look too easy and laid back, therefore taking out a lot of the suspense. Of course not the very talented Mr Elba's fault. its the way the film was written.

    • @melancholic6619
      @melancholic6619 2 года назад +1

      Well, mother ship were never landed bec it is too massive and would require too much escape velocity to lunch into space. Also their structure were never designed for landing or lunching. The Prometheus is not that massive and structural design is favorable for landing and lunching in a planet.

    • @ChellyBean
      @ChellyBean 2 года назад +1

      Because they'd done multiple scans on the planet before leaving and knew that the surface was, at the very least solid and stable
      Plus the Prometheus was *designed* to land on a planet/moon
