Bill miller i watched 50 videos trying to learn to throw a 12 footer i bought. I never used them with my Dad we used worms but i use bait fish now. Anyways i bought a 4 ft net and learned it good but i struggle to do a triple load. Your video you can see how you throw 1/3 over your shoulder and grab 1/3 from the outside lead line 1/3 hangs kinda open like a frisbee. No one else mentions the part about rocking forward then back then forward i was always trying just back and forth and bitch wouldnt open. Ive been practicing all week a few hours a day. I think i have a better understanding of how to be sucessful now without a teacher with me. Best video ive seen yet.
I like a refresher from time to time because I don't throw my net on every trip and this video was great for that. Thanks! Also 86 people gave it a thumbs down and I'm guessing those are the people who rip the net in fast and don't catch bait but need someone else to blame. Again great video thanks
Missed one point. Excellent presentation. I picked this video as my model for learning to throw a cast net. You forgot to mention in the video that you hold the lead line with your right index finger which is important in using this method. I caught it by looking at the three minute 48 second point in the video.
Tried it in the teeth, trigger finger, pinching line between fingers, nothing worked for me. Simply could not for the life of me get my 10' net to fully open. Tried this triple load method, first cast BOOM !! There it is, wide open perfect circle. Thanks a million Bill.
Been throwing a net commerciallly for over 20 years and this is the way we throw big nets. Just learn the push away in the beginning to get the weights and away from your body in a circular fashion. It will be effortless in time.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for pointing out my mistakes. I toss a nice pancake, but my 10 ft net never fully deploys, mainly because I don't have enough momentum behind my throw. This tutorial will fix my problem!
Excellent video! i have been throwing a 8ft and 10ft bait net but i bought a 12ft mullet net and have had a hard time with it. I will be trying this method tomorrow. I like that the net is split in three sections and already part open.
Let us know how it worked for you. If you had problems check out part 2 Capt. Billy shows some ways to correct it. Cast netting Part 2 - Casting correction.mov
Very nice -reduced power, avoid shoulder and back pain. But your take care your shirt or other shoulder covered clothes. (In case Fishing areas under water status dirty )
This is a really great video and super technique. If you want to see how to stay dry check out my netting vid "the dry no mouth method" part 2 of 2. I throw a heavy 10 footer this way at the end of the video. Thanks Capt.Bill!
Still one of the best how to cast net videos there is!

Thanks, great info. Need a refresher coarse every now and then. I don't get out often enough and sometimes forget how to throw.

First video to mention the retrieve and the NAME of the technique. Thanks very much.
This is exactly how I learned to throw my net after trying many ways. by far the best way imo.

Definitely one of the best cast net throwing video out there. Miller guys are Awesome!!
nice talk on the close. playing right field and fishing is my two favorite things to do. You're the man!
First freaking time I've ever heard anyone talk about the close. Thank you.
I say it all the time! Drives be bonkers when guys horse it in and lose tons of bait. I do slow short pumps and it definitely works. Good stuff Billy.

I tried the triple load method and I found it to be the best for me. My 12ft net has heavy brailles and netting so its tough to open.
Great video. I now use this to throw a 8 footer and it works so much easier.
I'm loving ur Short pant Buddy,, nice keep it up ,
Excelente muy bien explicado yo también soy apasionado de las atarrayas

How do you close it in deep in deep water? Doesn't the net close itself on the fall ? I live near deep mountain lakes .
Camera was too close and showing your head and shoulders instead of the net many times. Good thing you did a great job of explaining.
What brand is your net? I am interested to buy it
Great job on demonstrating the little things.
Subbed you but noticed you haven't posted in a while.

Like you would with the double load teeth method. Thanks.
