Still one of the best how to cast net videos there is!

Bill miller i watched 50 videos trying to learn to throw a 12 footer i bought. I never used them with my Dad we used worms but i use bait fish now. Anyways i bought a 4 ft net and learned it good but i struggle to do a triple load. Your video you can see how you throw 1/3 over your shoulder and grab 1/3 from the outside lead line 1/3 hangs kinda open like a frisbee.
No one else mentions the part about rocking forward then back then forward i was always trying just back and forth and bitch wouldnt open. Ive been practicing all week a few hours a day. I think i have a better understanding of how to be sucessful now without a teacher with me. Best video ive seen yet.

I like a refresher from time to time because I don't throw my net on every trip and this video was great for that. Thanks! Also 86 people gave it a thumbs down and I'm guessing those are the people who rip the net in fast and don't catch bait but need someone else to blame. Again great video thanks

Thanks, great info. Need a refresher coarse every now and then. I don't get out often enough and sometimes forget how to throw.

Missed one point. Excellent presentation. I picked this video as my model for learning to throw a cast net. You forgot to mention in the video that you hold the lead line with your right index finger which is important in using this method. I caught it by looking at the three minute 48 second point in the video.

First video to mention the retrieve and the NAME of the technique. Thanks very much.

This is exactly how I learned to throw my net after trying many ways. by far the best way imo.

Tried it in the teeth, trigger finger, pinching line between fingers, nothing worked for me. Simply could not for the life of me get my 10' net to fully open. Tried this triple load method, first cast BOOM !! There it is, wide open perfect circle. Thanks a million Bill.

I say it all the time! Drives be bonkers when guys horse it in and lose tons of bait. I do slow short pumps and it definitely works. Good stuff Billy.

Been throwing a net commerciallly for over 20 years and this is the way we throw big nets. Just learn the push away in the beginning to get the weights and away from your body in a circular fashion. It will be effortless in time.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for pointing out my mistakes. I toss a nice pancake, but my 10 ft net never fully deploys, mainly because I don't have enough momentum behind my throw. This tutorial will fix my problem!

Excellent video! i have been throwing a 8ft and 10ft bait net but i bought a 12ft mullet net and have had a hard time with it. I will be trying this method tomorrow. I like that the net is split in three sections and already part open.

I tried the triple load method and I found it to be the best for me. My 12ft net has heavy brailles and netting so its tough to open.

How do you close it in deep in deep water? Doesn't the net close itself on the fall ? I live near deep mountain lakes .
