Thank you sir ! Tried all kinds of ways to throw a 10ft net. Almost gave up then you were the only one that explained it and made since. I finally got it thanks to you !!!
I have learned how to throw the net since I was very young. It's the only way that get you going while fishing and I love it. Thank you so much for adding a pitch on my learning. You are a real fisherman.
I don’t know how to swim and I master with castanets includin building and selling them. If you’re that clumsy then throwing net next to the edge of water shouldn’t be your thing
With a smaller net sure. The triple throw is very easy and takes almost no effort. The setup is longer but with a net this big I haven't found another way to throw it and not be tired after a while.
Nice, here in Hawaii we do it similarly by soliting it into 3rds as well with the same yield, but the mullet here are three times the size! But thank you for the tutorial, nice to see others getting it done like ya’ll are
Just started throwing a 10’ on Wednesday and it going pretty good because of your three piece method. Just posted a video on my page if you want to see and give me any pointers.
You can tell he's from the south because he says 10 foot net. I'm used to hearing 10 feet net. Nice throw and nice catch though. Always love a good cast net video.
This guy was taught by a Hawaiian fisherman. That style of throwing net is how people in Hawaii use. It was taught by the Japanese plantation workers in Hawaii.
This is a good method but you better be one and done because you going to get soaked. Summer time no problem but the mullet run in the winter not fun. But each its own.
Never ,ever, ever secure the Nets Main line around your wrist, secure it around your palm so that you can let it go should you throw the net over a big Manta Ray or Bull shark. 50 yrs ago I watch a friend drown in S.C. while we were casting for shrimp to sell on the side of the road. We always had the line tight around our wrists, he threw it over a big Ray, was jerked off the pair and drowned.
Thank you for that bit of information Nick. I will take that to heart. I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your friend and I am glad that you cared enough to share it with the fishing community for our safety and well-being. God bless.
Can’t believe you showed that if you can’t open the net throw one you can like a 7’ and I can’t believe how many people in the comments kiss your ass ! Anyone that really knows how to throw a net is ashamed of you
One guy said he didnt like the cacoon way you throw the net. Who cares? He needs to make his own video. Everybody else likes your style. If somebody cant say something positive, they should zip their lip in my opinion.
Everyone has their own method for casting their net. I personally don't like your cocoon method. By the second attempt you're completely soaked in sea water.
"professional castnet user here" first off. Don't use the 15% rule if your not gonna flick it open at the end. it left it bunched up on the video and a bad example of a pancake. Just one pull of lead over the shoulder if perfect.
No offense intended, but I guess you guys only throw is areas with clean sandy bottoms. You'd ruin ALL of your clothes throwing the net like that in nasty water with a muddy bottom. Capt. Jeff aka Lunkerdog as the right technique for throwing the net. Ya won't get nasty and wet while throwing the net the way Capt Jeff does it. Not to mention you can prep and throw the net much quicker, and get nice pancakes on the water.

Throwing a casting net is pretty much an art. Thanks for sharing your way
You're welcome John.
Super sir
great video captain @reelreports! Question, is a 10ft casting net the same as a 20ft radius casting net?
Great, it wl help to throw big and heavier one. I use similar method but this one is better ❤ from India
You two are the best! Always making it look easy....Mastery!!! Just like your book!
What does the “peace sign” do for the easy of throwing. Just curious. great video!
I've watched SO many videos on this. I'm going to tangle myself up and fall in the water with this thing!

What does throwing the net “Islamorada Style” mean? Throwing it straight up off the stern for deep bait?
Captain Tim is the man!
Very different way but there is much easier ways that seams very complicated thanks for the unique way of teaching
I appreciate anyone dropping knowledge on here, but there are way easier ways.
Can you post a video

Got it after 3 throws. First a dud, second a banana with a few fish, Third wide open and full.
Thank you.

Indeed. Much of the time we will bring a fresh shirt to change into after "making bait".
When did fishing become a fashion statement and the need to stay fresh? RUclips and Instagram I guess? 🤣

The music and editing was a little over the top. I mean we’re throwing a net, not watching an Avengers movie.
When it's make bait or go home, bait sessions get pretty intense :)
Why you gota hate. You probably don't have a boat and cast

I get it, bait makes or breaks your charter. The intro was just a little . . Much.

I’m sorry but there’s just way to many damn steps all these RUclipsrs make it a lot more complicated than what it needs to be
Just throw it? :)
