Thank you for being honest about that exhaust break that no one else wants to really talk about it
You may want a dually if your RV 13 ft. tall or taller for the stability also. With an SRW you could find that you’re getting moved around some when semis go around you or it is fairly windy on a travel day. Your truck did a great job towing your RV Brother. Thanks for the towing reviewJB. I am going have to check my list of trailers because I don’t make either one a default trailer either.
Need to see the gasser pulling that 5th wheel. Thanks for the great videos.
Duallies are the best. I do like those trailer tire pressure sensors. That is pretty slick.
Love our channel JB
Just found your channel and loving the content. Thank you.
I am surprised that m.p.g. is all you got with that new chevy. I just got back from my camping trip and my truck computer had me at 9.2 mpg. I usually on trips like this will do my calculations and get -.5 mpg difference. So I got 8.7 mpg. 380 miles, mostly highway miles at 65 mph 1900rpm. I do realize that you were running about 5 mph faster than me which would have made a big difference in my truck. I just want to say that I am pleasantly surprised on the performance I still getting out of my older Duramax. It is still a great pulling truck.
I'll give you some statistics on my vehicle and why I'm surprised you didn't get a little bit better mileage than my pickup truck.
2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Duramax 179,000 miles, 5 speed Allison trans. (LLY) stock motor, stock exhaust diameter but straight pipe. LBZ turbo mouthpiece (2006) Ride-Rite 5K air bags. Pulling 42 ft. 2013 Raptor Toyhauler / 367SE
Scale WEIGHT @ Cat scale....
5th wheel, full of fuel & propane and ready to dry camp for 6 days. (less water) Truck (25 gal. main tank, and 50 gal. In bed fuel tank). 11,450# on truck, 14,100# 5th wheel. Total 25,550#
You can top off the DEF on these Duramax's. I've had an LML, 2018 L5P, 2020 L5P and now a 2024 L5P and I have over filled on every one of them using the boxed DEF. Wont throw a single code.
I have the same truck on order we just bought a 2024 North Point 310rlts when I took it to the scale it weighed in at 14,500lbs and although my 2023 srw 3500 long bed tow it flawlessly I'm sure that the dually would tow it a little better, thinking about getting a bigger 5th wheel in the future.
My tires on the TH travel trailer take 110 PSI but I run them at 105. When they are running down the highway they usually run 120 degrees.
I love Maverick fuel station for their RV lanes but I’m told they don’t have great fuel. I don’t know if that’s true but that’s what I hear. Apparently they bought out all the KUM n Go location across the country and they have Extreme Diesel fuel in those locations. I wonder if Maverick is going to keep that type of diesel.
I do love the look of that dually.
Thank you for the information
Boy that front end look good
A turbo will cause you problems and wear out the motor so it's just not a good vehicle choice. Mechanic is going to love you.
Streakin beacon is the worst man got to salt lake truck wash over on California and have them hand dry it
Diesel ain't worth it anymore folks. My 6.6 gas motors get that pulling just about the same wight and even more.My 21 model gasser does just as good and I paid about 45 out the door. That Duramax dually with all that electronic crap on probably was 80,000 or more.Ridiculous!!Good video.Just showed me what I already knew.
Just upgraded from a 2022 Ram 3500 6.7 Cummings HO Diesel to the 2024 Chevy Silverado LTZ 3500 6.6 Duramax. Both are standard beds, but the Chevy has a longer standard bed. I found the Chevy has a much smoother ride and the engine is not as loud as the Ram. I am curious about the tire pressure sensors you are using. Is that aftermarket or a Chevy product? I have the Lippert sensors on my GD Reflection 337RLS. It bluetooths to my phone. It would be great if the Chevy picks up the sensors. BTW, You drove through my town (Lehi) as you made your way south.
Chevrolet Silverado
I would just buy a regular commercial tractor for pulling that trailer and be more comfortable traveling or pulling it .
Do the google map directions show up on the HUD?
yes
@@perrypatterson9748 even with using Apple car play or only the native google maps app? Thank you for an answer, no one has been able to tell me. Hopefully picking up my truck soon.
I'm a little surprised with your fuel economy, I thought it would be better with the 10 speed. My 2019 Chevy 3500 dually with 370 gears pulling 16540 at 70 I'm getting 10 MPG, if I say 65 It'll get 12.
Getting better mpgs with a 10 speed is a myth. Makes it easier to get going towing is about it. I have a 2021 L5P and it gets the same mpgs as the 6 speeds in the 17-19’s.
@@shanebrown2963 not necessarily the trans but the fact it will allow you to a lower gear ratio that normally would. My 2019 with higher gears beats what he was saying.
I have an electronic Gauge on my sxs and if you over fill it at all it shows that its not full so you may have overfilled it slightly
Dually are better more stability and traction.
Hey JB
Where did you get the trailer tire sensors installed? Did you have the dealer do the install or another tire shop?
I just received my HD and it came with the sensors for my trailer.
Were did you purchase the tire pressure sensors that work with the 3500HD?
Let me help you with tires because I know the perfect one for your set up
So how do you know if the tpms is showing the inside or outside tire pressure?
Dang... I think you're being a little too picky about the trailer selection and or default trailer setting on the truck. Come on now. JB.
Just no thanks Ram 3500 for me!
You must like a 15 year old tiny cab and slow rough shifting trans
Lol good one
