  • Our boy Oscar is getting some fresh cold a/c installed! This was a pretty fun little project and relatively easy to do.

    Nothing else to say my friend. Job well done! I just did a recharge on mine in my 1984 caprice. My windows never go down! I just eat a lot of gas! But that's a great investment you made there sir! The fact that you have it on low speaks enough! Great job!!

    I installed a Vintage Air system in my 71 C10 a few years ago. It works great. My truck was also had factory air but it cost about the same to repair the old system as it was to install the Vintage kit. I also use my A/C year round in Tucson.

      I was really impressed with the whole kit. Honestly, way better than the factory system.

    Hoping to add AC to my 67 Mustang. Looking at Vintage Air possibly. Thanks for sharing.

    Nive job, dude! I bet the dust unside that old unit and ducts was toxic. Good save for your lungs at the very least. We had record highs in Oklahoma this past summer, Nearly a month of 100+ degree days. I had a recalled defective switch on my little Spark that caused my AC to go out, still cost me nearly 200 bucks to replace. I was avoiding going anywhare in that car ,but it works now. Life saver. Love your channel!

      Haha, I can't even imagine how hot that was. You guys get pretty humid there, right?

    My stock system can't keep up anymore on my 87 K5. And parts are getting harder to find. I'm doing this! Thanks.

    Always look forward to your videos, keep it up. My daily is an 81 GMC C15 no air and heater bypassed. My weekend driver is a 64 F100. Both need this. I'm Yuma. This summer was brutal!

    Like you knew what I was researching this week at work, instead of working. What kit number did you use ?

    • @VeteranRevivals
      @VeteranRevivals  7 месяцев назад

      To be honest, I'm not sure, Marcus put it together for this truck and engine specifically. You might be able to give him a call at Vintage and let him know you saw it on the channel. In the meantime I'll see if I can track down a kit number if it has one.

    I installed vintage air in my 66 and the kit isn’t as great as you think it would be , but it’s nice to have ac

      To be fair the kit was relatively easy to put together, the real struggle was trying to avoid breathing all the dust from under the dash 😂

      I have no idea, just some old clip on mirror. Looks like from a truck stop or something.

    I didn’t see you put the system in a vacuum. Did I miss that, or did you not do that? I’m no AC guy, but its my understanding you need to put a system that has been opened to the atmosphere into a vacuum for a period of time to remove all moisture (water) from the system. Curious if the VintageAir instructions advise to do that, or not. Anyway, thats going to be a good, reliable and comfortable work truck!

    • @VeteranRevivals
      @VeteranRevivals  7 месяцев назад +2

      Correct, I did not. I put a can in it to test the pressure switch, leaks, and function. It's headed to get purged and filled soon!

      @@VeteranRevivals Got it. Curious, I know it gets pretty darn hot where you are at… how much does an A/C unit drop the temperature. Example, if it’s 110-degrees outside, what might it get inside a vehicle with A/C? I imagine even just getting in the 80’s would feel “cool” if it’s 110 outside? Keep up the good vids!

    • @VeteranRevivals
      @VeteranRevivals  7 месяцев назад +1

      They actually work really well here, I assume it's likely due to the very dry climate. This unit should maintain 70* in the truck without issue.
