    I have the same Trailer Valet XL. I got it very inexpensively second-hand. I can understand people's negative comments about it. Every time I use it I feel like I've been on a treadmill for an hour (and that's with a drill) but in some circumstances (extremely narrow driveway and street) it is actually very helpful in getting a trailer where you want it to go. I envy the guys who grew up towing trailers on the family farm who can back a 5th-wheeler through an obstacle course blindfolded, but if you are just someone who tows a couple times a year, a trailer dolly can really help you make your camping possible.

      Yup have to agree it works for some of us. It was worth the money. Let the others laugh…. It’s not for everyone. The drill attachment makes it doable and the best way for us to move the two trailers we have.

    • @hammer-r
      @hammer-r 3 года назад

      That’s why I only use the drill. It’s hard enough wrestling it even with the drill, but it works. My drill is no worse for wear so far and I’m moving a 6200 lbs RV trailer. Yea not for everyone, but it works for those who need it. I’ll never use the crank if I can help it. 😜

    Thanks for the demo. Questions on your "custom bracket" that attaches to the jack post: 1. It looks like you attach to the post and the trailer valet with chain link fence brace bands, correct? 2. have you noticed any undue wear/tear on your jack from the tension of pulling with the Trailer Valet?

    • @godfamilybikes1703
      @godfamilybikes1703  4 года назад +1

      I haven't noticed any wear on the jack. The brace only really works when you are pushing straight forward or back. Doesn't provide much support when turning. I now remove the ball from the trailer valet when attaching to the trailer. The connection is much more secure using this method.

    Looks like it's more of a PITA than it's worth, lol. My wife and I rented a storage unit for our boat- not realizing how heavy our boat is (usually move with pickup) that getting it up the incline into the storage unit is harder than we'd originally thought it would be. There's not enough room between the rows of storage buildings to properly back it in with the truck, and the door to the unit is barely wide enough for the boat. I can see that this is not what I am needing- I need to be able to get the boat out and in a LOT faster than this, haha. Thanks for sharing!

    I am so confused by so many things here. First the dolly company states not to use it up hill but hey you have to do what you have to do. Why the trailer is not backed in is beyond me. I see many wrote someone could steal it and I suppose that’s true but what are the odds a good lock and a few other gadgets don’t prevent the theft. Plus if stolen that what insurance is for. How you get this back down the driveway has to be just as entertaining as getting it up the driveway. I dam near lost it when I saw the floor attached come along being used to help assist it. Why not try an impact drill that would have to help. Honestly my hats off to you for going through this every time you camp.

    There is a front trailer hitch available for most trucks which would Do away with the need for Dolly

      You have to watch my first video. Trailer needs to have the tongue tucked under the eves to fit in the driveway. I could pull it in with a truck if I was ok with leaving it in the garage while not using the trailer.

    If I owned a trailer valet I would never use the trailer and I would throw in the trailer the day I sell the house trailer valet is free with purchase.

      Fantastic editing. Couldn't even see the sun go up and down in the 3 days of filming it took to move that trailer 20 feet.
