Yes, the screen on the blade looks dingy. I've found that the Dolby audio feature really increased the volume of my phone. I'm on my second ZTE Max Pro Android phone. I love my phone.
Same here.. the Blade Z Max has an uglier LCD screen that looks yellowish. The camera quality was also reduced.. it looks worse, especially in low light conditions. The battery on the Zmax Pro is still big and lasts long.. the Blade Z Max uses a SLOWER and LAGGY Snapdragon 435 CPU... worst than the ZTE Zmax Pro's Snapdragon 617, which still today BEATS prepaid phones that are out today. Kind of a shame ZTE dropped the quality and there was never a true successor to the Zmax Pro.

The Blade charges faster, has a better design, better cameras and a much bigger battery. I don't really care if the Zmax Pro is half a second faster when the Blade wins in every other category.

I have both phone. ZTE Blade Z Max. Has better color better camera better batter better processer. Better battery.Zte blade Z Max blows the Pro out the water!
Is a launcher worth installing? Is it necessary, a must have? I bought the Blade over the J7. It has good audio, hella memory, and a large screen, not cheap feeling at all. Definitely lives up to the hype. I bought an Otter case and it feels nice in my hand. Again, I installed hella apps and ain't even used half my memory yet. Pandora, Napster, FIFA Soccer, Lumosity, a flashlight, Bible, plus a few others... large apps that would've have never fit in my old phone, a Galaxy On5 which while a serviceable phone was boring.
Is it worth the upgrade? had people at my metro store its gonna cost around $170-180 how much did you pay for it?

Is just me or does the zmax pro heat very fast after this recent update. For me when i use for 2 minutes it gets hot on the top part.

For any ZTE Zmax Pro owners, does anyone have problems with the headset jack?, whenever I use It I have to tinker with the 3.55 mm headset jack of my headphones to get it to work.

Nope. It most definitely depends on what headphones you buy. DO NOT buy dollar store headphones! Get skullcandy or the more expensive ones. They work better with the phone.

My friend had the blade and I have the pro. They're nice phones.
i really wished you would have shown more demanding games being played and show the fps difference since the blade does have a better GPU this time around.

If you like expandable storage and lots of photos, go with the zmax pro.
The blade zmax improves camera and battery life at the expense of storage!
Zmax pro=256 gigs of expandable storage.
Blade zmax= 128 gigs of expandable storage.
Another down note to the blade zmax is that the cooling plate around the processor has a higher risk of wearing out faster than the zmax pro. Again to cut corners and give you the better cameras and battery ZTE cut corners on the cooling plate.

Such a lovely phone. It's a pity the pro suffers from hardcore lag even with minimal apps enabled and this new one is nearly identical surprised they didn't go to 3 or 4 ram to offset that.
I just got the blade zmax on cricket .. I like the phone... I dnt like the slow data on cricket. Might got unlimited and att data is twice as fast... I tested it myself... . I upgraded from the blade spark with att.. Going to unlock this for att.. Cricket data is slow

The ZTE blade zmax's display has a noticeable yellow tone may you explain why
it's just on RUclips. Mine has zero yellow tint.
Saul Martinez I have the blade zmax. No yellow tone what so ever... It's a really nice phone. I've had in 4 months the j7 prime new one, Stylo 3 plus, now the blade zmax I love it! And I had the zte zmax pro. Didn't like it. I was hesitant about buying the blade zmax. But im glad I bought it. No disappointments at all.

Saul Martinez, if you look at other reviews, the screen looked much richer and color. It was probably just the phone he had or the setting they used for Torrid Google other reviews and you will see the color looks richer.
It appears the zmax pro has a brighter more vibrant display even though the blade zmax has a better GPU
These 2 phones are almost no different from each other and the older software will last a while. But I've had the pro since release and didn't feel the need to get the blade

I feel like you couldn't make this review without WiFi I wish it had at least the performance of a 5se or a Galaxy S5 terrible phone carrier but it has potential also that dual camera isn't fooling anyone with the camera position on the back it resembles 5T IP7 and IP8 Note 8 has uniqueness look at the size of the camera layout

I am a avid cell phone user!! and I do not care so much about speed but performance and the Blade Zmax is better in every way and it has Nougat 7.1.1.
This phone is the same phone just a faster fingerprint scanner and dual camera setup Androids update if it gets the next update then in impressed anyone agree
I'm impressed actually for the fact that these type of phones offer so much bang for the buck. And that these phones are free right now with a port over to Metro pcs. It's definitely a win for the average consumer on a budget. Or anyone really that just needs a good phone with some nice features and performs very well and that won't break the bank.

I like the Zmax Pro better. The Blade I have the screen looks washed out, all blacks look gray and the speaker is horrible sounds like it's blown. Very disappointed

Hello everyone! WARNING! This will be long but I am in great need of feedback and help! I separated different topics into their own paragraphs so it would hopefully be easier to read!
I am currently on the MetroPCS network and I am looking for the best phone to upgrade to. As of right now, I am using a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, it runs Lollipop 5.1.1, has a 2600 mAh battery, 1.5 gb of ram (memory), 8 gb of rom (storage), a rear camera - 8 mp, a front camera - 5mp, and a 1.2 ghz processor. I would like a phone from MetroPCS that has better cameras, more storage, a better battery, expandable storage, more ram, upgraded android software, and a bigger screen.
I'm looking at and comparing the ZTE Zmax Pro and the ZTE Blade Z Max because they have each of things I listed and/or better. I would like to have some feedback, recommendations, and/or help on which phone I should upgrade to, if I should upgrade or just wait, or if I should upgrade to another MetroPCS phone!
Both of these phones are in my price range of under $200 and I am currently going through the following situations with my current phone: Losing storage space and have less than 1gb left of space on my phone, some apps that I update do not come with some of the updated features, my battery drains quickly (even on low brightness, light usage, and a minimal amount of apps running in the background, etc.), my phone does not manage ram that well as I am always switching between apps because I'm a multitasker so it freezes frequently, when pressing the power button, it takes about 5 seconds just to show me the display and lock screen, it cannot play full HD videos on RUclips, and other things that I won't mention.
These are the things that I am comparing between the Pro and the Blade, and some things are better on one phone and some things are better on the other, which makes me furious, because ZTE thinks that the Blade is a considerable upgrade from the Pro but I've noticed some things that aren't exactly an "upgrade." For example, the storage. Both come with "32 GBs" of rom but the user available memory is actually 21 GBs on the Blade and 24 GBs on the Pro. So the Pro actually comes out of the box with more storage. The Pro has a faster processor than the Blade with a 1.5ghz Octa-core 64-Bit processor. The Pro has a stronger glass screen with Gorilla glass compared to the Dragontail glass on the Blade. Also, the Pro's camera has both autofocus and digital image stabilization, which the Blade doesn't.
I really need help as to which of these is the better buy and it's scary for me because what if another MetroPCS phone comes out from ZTE that is another "upgrade"? Or, what if one phone receives an update that makes it the better buy automatically, for instance, if I waited for another month and the Pro possibly receives Android Nougat? See! I really need feedback and help on this because I'm planning on upgrading soon and I want to make a decision that I won't completely regret and one that will benefit me in the long run!

I've been using Samsung phones ever since my first phone and I believe it'd be best to keep it that way as I keep finding major complaints on each of these phones. Thanks again!
Blade 1.4 octa core and pro 1.5 octa core , other than battery,camera and newer andriod version its basically same,if you have zmax pro save your money don't buy blade.

It's called ZTE blade Z max not ZTE blade zmax, they have made many names and mixed it around a lot to get us confused.

2:02 look at how washed out the LCD looks on the Blade Z Max... ZTE used CHEAP parts on the Blade Z Max and think people won't notice.. they used a SLOWER and LAGGY Snapdragon 435 which was a downgrade.. also they used Asahi Dragontail Glass which is cheap and scratches easily compared to the ZTE Zmax Pro's Gorilla Glass 3. Also, the microphone recording sounds MUCH BETTER on the Zmax Pro... the Blade Z Max uses an absolutely horrible mic that sounds terrible. Shame on ZTE by being cheap and using cheaper parts.. the ZTE Zmax Pro was one of their best prepaid phones they ever created. Don't be fooled by the 600 mAh bigger battery, newer Android OS, and 2nd (fake) bokeh lens which looks stupid and ugly.
Both phones suck. Just get the lg stylo 3, or upgrade from budget phones because they all suck. They get sluggish is their storage is even half full, the cameras suck. Game Performance is sad. And worst of all they are glitchy. Unlocking the phone after 4 months of usage is a mission. And it take a while to load the home screen depending on how much you have. The lg stylo has a good camera, nice screen, less bezel and very well optimized so nonperformance issues. And the battery last longer than the set because of the optimization. Right now I’m using a iPhone X, but I came from using a lg stylo 2, and a Zte after the stylo fell and cracked. I had a iPhone 7 as my main phone through both usage cycles.

Sorry but I'm not buying any budget device that doesn't come with 8.0 Oreo. These phones are already behind and won't be updated I'm sure. Zmax Pro still on 6.0 Marshmallow.

I see your one of the few smart ones around here...ZTE DOES NOT UPDATED THIER Phones....if they would of updated the zmax pro few would buy the zmax blade...think about this ...ZTE is about making $$$...they build a good phone in the zmax pro...dispite not being fully optimized and running a dated OS ...it's still faster the the UPGRADED zmax blade...even though it's processor is a downgrade and they are visually the same phone with some tuning and a upgraded OS....the UPGRADE for the zmax blade will probably run the snapdragon 210 running Android 8.0 and these reviewers will probably call that phone an upgrade...it's a game being played on consumers who are not tech savvy....if you want the best phone for the $$ from metro get the lg stylo 3 plus...hands down the best phone which will be updated to Android 8.0 and is feature rich and little money .....
