On my second ZTE Max Pro phone. I dropped my first ZTE Max Pro over a few hundred times. The Google Assistant feature is cool. I've noticed that it can be so sensitive that it will pick up people talking thinking I am searching for something. Fantastic phone. Best phone I've ever had. No other phone comes close. Great video as always.

I found one of these in the trash mint condition. Turned out a cable inside of it was disconnected so I reconnected it and now I have a perfectly working Zte Zmax pro. Great phone

Still using the ZMAX PRO. Recently ran update(s) which solved occasional screen flicker issues. Great phone for $100 on MetroPCS.

I just brought this for my son, his stlyo stopped working after 2 years. I definitely got my money out of that phone. I'm sure he'll be happy with it
Bought mine when it came out at Metro PCS for $99 and still have it 3 years later with no problems to mention since buying it. To me it's a poor man's inexpensive big phone without spending the $$$ of an expensive Samsung or iPhone. I do have the $$$ for a top of the line phone but can't bring myself to part with something that works and works well. It still charges to 100% and gives me a full day of use. I learned years ago if it ain't broken don't fix it.

Had my zmax pro since 1 Feb 17. Great! Would like a NFC chip . . but that is all that's missing. Why no Android 7?

I had a zte I liked the large screen but I had to update... I have a iPhone 7 now and I’m really loving it although I still do have my zte but it is now my WiFi phone.

zmax pro is boss i own a zmax pro and it never gives me any problems no issues just that it lacks software updates and android 7.0
It's still a Beast of a phone I use mines as a gaming phone,and I have a text & calling app on it also its just needs that 7.1.1 update

I am on my second like it so much. First one went bad and now this one is having an issue and I doubt T-mobile will replace it if I try. It won't download apps off of Play store. Any ideas what I might do?
Can a 256gb SD card work on the Pro? I'm about to get one, but have read conflicting info between 128gb and 256gb. What's the max?
I've had the ZMAX Pro for nearly a year now. And I have to say, it's still working great just like the day I bought it. Doesn't give me any problems at all. I find it kinda funny when my wife asks to use my phone and she tells me how she likes how it feels and moves. Note she is a iPhone 7+ user lol. What game was that, the one you were playing?

Yeah my wife has the iPhone 6+ and same thing she will use my phone and be like wow how do customize your phone like that and I can't..lol.. Also The game I was playing was Asphalt 8 off the Google play store.

Now in 2018 , you should not buy it if you want an up to date software , it is running Android 6.1.0 and is not updating
@American Freedom World Peace Well, it's not the performance but the features. I've since then updated to the Note 10 Plus and the difference is abysmal
I've had mine a little over a month, I also had the warp 7 and Max xl. Cracked screen on both,so I went to metro pcs
P47 Thunderbolt Warp 7 is a great phone.Less glitch than the bigger zte phones if you ask me

Can you replace the battery on these phones.
I love the specs and the speed for the price, but the batch of Zmax Pros at my local MetroPCS dealer is full of drained batteries. I have to return my phone because it keeps dying fast, and also is dying at random times. It especially dies while I'm recording long audio lectures in class, which has corrupted a few of my audio files.
I have a very limited budget and MetroPCS. This is the best option I can find, and I respect your review style. Do you feel it is still the best under 100$ option in 2018?

I've been using mine for a good 10 months now and, despite a couple bugs and a slight charging issue a few months ago, it has worked like a dream and I love the phone. Oh by the way, how did you get it to where you just swipe up and now you're at the apps section?

He mentioned using Nova Launcher - I've used it for years. Allows you to customize with gestures for actions and to open apps with taps or swipes.
Mine started to go down the drain after a couple months. Within the first few weeks it started to restart itself on its own and I was barely using it. Even now it barely holds a charge and I have barely any apps on it. Its not a bad phone, especially since I got it for like $100. But I wouldn't say its a great phone either.

I just bought mine upgraded from the ALCATEL fierce 4 but the new ZTE blade z Max is coming out at the end of month lol

Best phone under $100
Bought this phone a year ago in December 2016. Was doing well for 8 months. Hit November, it could barely a charge. By December I would have to leave it off and let it charge for 10+ hrs to only get 50% battery. At the time of writing this, mid-January it is essentially dead. It shows that it "charges", blinking light, but after checking overnight. It says 0% battery. Warranty expired... time to go a cheaper phone to not worry about paying $100+ for a phone.

I'm watching the on my zmax but when I play games it's pretty laggy
My ZMAX Pro started have major screen glitches within the first 2 months of using it. Now, a little over a year in, I can barley scroll through instagram or twitter for 30 seconds before it closes the app. It will also reboot at random times even when no apps are open and the phone is at rest. It takes me 4-5 clicks on the power button to turn it on. I slapped a screen protector and a sturdy case on this phone the MOMENT I got it and I have been very delicate with it. everyone in the comments loves it though? I am left wondering if i am cursed. Is it just me?
I've had this phone for a while and the front facing camera make my pictures look so ugly and gray. It's still worth the price but if your looking to get nice selfie pics and good videos on this phone it's not going to look all that great especially in dark areas.

Mine has this glitch or virus where the volume lowers on its own, I'm not saying it's the ZTE phone but I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I'll be honest, My experience with this phone has been terrible, When I bought the phone from T-Mobile and started using it, I realized my calls were getting dropped and no one could hear my on my end, Then I got a replacement but then that one had a messed up screen that barely even responded to anything, Then I got ANOTHER replacement and it was in bad condition, I really like this phone but the ones I'm receiving always have a defect or they're in bad condition

Who's looking at buying one in 2019? I used to own one, broke it, but it still seems like it's the best smart phone for $100 two years later. Does anyone recommend any other smart phones that are less than $100?
@Benjamin Personally i say the ZMax Pro IS STILL a Great phone in 2019...It's the best budget phone Metropcs ever sold, i got mine in Dec, 2016 and it still blows away $200 phones...my screen has a crack but still works great, however, i don't want to risk it getting anymore damaged so i got the Moto E5 plus for FREE at Metro. Thats a nice replacement.

Man... I HATE mine!! While I agree the camera is very good. AND this phone was free.
I don't like that I have to add a operate app to give me notification bubbles for my mail etc... the bluetooth connecting is TERRIBLE!
Apps continually crash while I'm using them or they won't work properly or run AMAZING slow. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to it. I have to reboot a lot.
I don't like Instagram won't stay linked to my business Facebook page. Pandora closes or stops working. The weather app just is terrible and won't update on the notification page. Not a huge fan of Sheets, or Docs, or Calendar, they just seem limited to me. The email app that comes with it is frustrating to use.
The auto correct drives me nuts. I'm glad it was free phone or I'd REALLY be bummed.
Rex Landings I would suggest an iPhone I had this phone, went to a 5s then a 6s plus then gave the 6s plus to my lil sister and went back to this one. I loved the 6s plus no lags, very fast, battery life depends on how much you use it and how long you charge it, I loved it but I'm not into phones like I used to be and it waspre important to her than me so I gave it away but would recommend it for anyone. It lives up to the hype and you wouldn't run into any of those issues at all

I finally upgraded from this horrible phone after 3 years, it was extremely slow and it overheats. Just got a new LG Stylo 5 and it's so much better.
