Thanks for the update Josh. We appreciate you going out of your way to expense a new bottle for testing. I was surprised as well thinking the Ph was high since it was removing most of my Lsp.
After Hurricane Ida my garage was our Lifeboat where we lived for 8 months while repairs were being done to the house. My white truck had to stay outdoors for 8 months and got pretty filthy and I used the Turtle Wax Max Power at the highest “supposedly highest pH” to cut all thé accumulated crud off the paint. Then used a clay bar, before moving to other detailing steps. It worked pretty good in this circumstance for me but I got it only for the one time use under these special conditions. With what I have learned here, I believe there are other products that would be superior for an aggressive cleaning. Thanks for great information.
Josh, you do well on your videos and I appreciate your fairness with all products. You highlight the positives and negatives on an objective level. Thanks!
Thank you I appreciate that!
I love the format with the results being stated at the beginning of the vid. Excellent video as always. Love you stuff. Wont be buying this.
A great choice for car owners looking for an effective and affordable cleaning solution.
I would be curious to see at what product to water ratio might still give you good foam in the foam cannon, great video Josh 👍😁
I use this soap the same way, straight into the MJJC. I reserve it for the really dirty cars to help remove/loosen up the dirt.
Man I must say. This is some great soap to use. This is what i usefor car detailing. It works very well 😊
i use this as a strip wash and it definitely works, removes the hydrophobic beading
Super funny that I just finished my bottle yesterday. Great in a bucket but I still prefer other soaps in a foam cannon
Wow! Thanks for sharing this!
This a great transformation wee worth time and money
Wow!! A nice cool day there. It’s February and current highs here in the Houston Texas area are already 85 degrees.
Yea we have a big storm coming too. Currently in a cabin with my family waiting for some snow about an hour outside of San diego
I use it when it's been a while since my last wash. Have had good results. I usually do my initial wash really lightly then come back a little more aggressively.
In my honest use, I used it a couple times on a engine bay detail, i foamed it on with foam cannon and I let it sit for about a minute and it did break down grease and thick dirt, it did work very well to break down the grease and thick dirt that was very stuck on
Yea that was my experience as well… it worked great just the ph didn’t change in that test. I actually retested in another video with a more precise ph meter the new bottle can in spot on at 10.2 ph
I use this stuff at home and I love it. I have a cheap Sun Joe foam cannon and I mix it 50/50 and have great foam.
yessss... i love it too
5050? does that mean if the bottle is 1000ml, you put in 500ml of soap and 500ml of water?
Great info and comparison, I’ve been using The last coat products but not sure they are in business still
I keep 2 bottles on hand I like it.
Great demo. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
I’ve used it and won’t waste my money on it again. 3oz per gallon for the minimum!? 15oz for one bucket is insane. It smells nice that’s it.
I would probably use this soap in my wheel and tire bucket
Terrific show.
Excellent videos THANK YOU 👍👍
I use this to strip waxes full strength in a foam cannon to get ready for ceramic coating.
Good video…some Turtle Wax are meh, but their Hybrid line is nice
Hey Josh!! Can you review Mothers Triple Action Foam Wash & Turtle Wax Slick n Slide Pure Wash? I am interested these two foam and would love your take on them!
I've been using the bottle of sticky snowball I got. I want to get a thing of the Adams mega foam when the chem guys stuff runs out.
Great video
use this product alot and my opinion its best out there
I have used just about every Turtle Wax product over the years and I can honestly say that there are some good ones and some that are not worth spending a dime on for sure. They haven't been around this long without having some good effective products in their line up however. I think that TW knows full well that some people who clean their vehicles have no clue what a mid or top of the line car care product is and will use whatever is cheapest to clean their cars. These are the ones that will do a quick contact wash, dry with a bath towel and slather some thick sticky tire shine on the tires and keep it moving. Those that truly detail their vehicles probably won't be using TW unless it's their Ice line. By the way, Chemical Guys are guilty of the same thing. Some of their products are really good but some are designed for the automatic car wash crowd that wouldn't know a good soap or wax from a can of paint.
Totally agree, and I’m partial to Turtle Wax products due to their lost cost. And you’re spot on (no pun intended) about Chemical Guys, they’re overpriced for the quality of their products.
There hybrid line is really good
Yes, some Chemical Guys products are overpriced. Some of their products that come in containers of 64oz and 128oz jugs are bargains. Sealants, detailers, etc. I bought that TW car wash soap at Walmart. It's OK, but there are better ones. The Meguiar's Gold Class soap is better. IMO.
@@thedude9999 I agree. I think it is very unwise for anybody looking to keep their vehicles maintained to overlook Turtle Wax these days for sure. They are making products that rival just about any other ones on the market for a fraction of the cost the other brands charge. Right now I'm using TW and Poorboys World products almost exclusively and couldn't be happier.
As someone who just spent an insane amount of money (like way more than I expected to have to shell out, and probably more than I can actually afford) on a new truck, I have to agree with this. It sucks, because I really want to take good care of my vehicle, but I have no idea what is what, and I have made some bad decisions on products like this turtle wax Max-Power car wash, just because I do not have a clue as to what I am doing. I've since watched countless youtube channels to get a grasp on this stuff including Josh and Pan, and a lot of it is contradictory and I am not quite sure I still even have a decent handle on any of it. Some of these guys contradict themselves from video to video. Who knew washing your vehicle could be so complicated. There needs to be a car detailing for dummies video. Like a list of quality easy to use products that will not break the bank, and instructions for when and how to use them. Like a baseline of good stuff for beginners. Then future videos that show a solid upgrade path. But cover everything. Like I still have no clue what towels I should use. I went to walmart and harbor freight, stared at a bunch of stuff that I know probably all sucks and just bought what looks the best to me, but probably isn't the best at all because I don't have a clue. I feel like the market for detailing products is just completely saturated that its really hard for anyone who wants to start taking care of their vehicle to even begin.
I just used this at the 9oz per gallon in 4 gallons to wash my dads truck. I honestly thought it did a fantastic job as my dads truck was very dirty and has been washed in months. The ph does matter but maybe this just has very strong detergents. Only dislike is that lubricity is decent. Great buy in my book
Yea that was my takeaway as well. It worked great even without agitation and really performed like a higher ph but it just wasn’t showing when testing
@imjoshv did you try it with the actual mixture they recommended with added water?
Nice to know this is why I subscribe to this channel
One more data point (I repeated the test with pH strips). Brand new bottle of the Turtle Wax Max Power soap purchased at an auto parts store in June 2024. Full strength, shook the bottle, the soap was pH 7-8. I also tested some Chemical Guys Strip Wash (the liquidy yellow stuff). It was pH 5-6 (so, slightly acidic). I've noticed that the Chemical Guys does an okay job of cleaning. If I let it soak on a panel and rinse with a hose with a jet spray nozzle (no power washer), a decent amount of the sticky pollen spots will rinse off (whereas with Meguiar's Hyperwash, which is sold as a gentle pH neutral soap, the pollen spots will not rinse off without agitation). I haven't tested the Turtle Wax Max Power yet. I've been trying to buy Purple Power Vehicle and Boat Wash, but can't find it in any store or Amazon. Looking for a powerful strip wash that actually does what it says and is reasonably priced... was Dawn dish soap the right choice all along?
Would love to see your thoughts and review on the turtle wax rapid decon...from what I've seen it looks like a pretty good iron decon but even if you gotta use more it it's 40 a gal vs 80 for ironx or meg's....all the reviews I've seen the products were sent to them so I'm not sure how unbiased they are
First 🎉 watch all your videos love the content!
Thanks for doing this video. The SDS for this product lists the pH as 10.25. Surprised that it’s so off.
Man, maybe my test strips are off, but from what it was showing i don’t see 10.25… it did work well though.
I just add a couple oz of Super Clean to my soap for pre wash then rinse and refoam with pure ph soap for contact wash
I used this stuff on my 94 dodge and it did nothing for the sap, however, in fairness the sap is really thick on it. I had to use a high pressure nosal on it to remove some of the sap
I’d go with Adams shampoo or car pro reset
AWESOMENESS 💯👍
This is my go to soap. I mix it with meguiars gold class for that crazy foam and lubrication.
Amazing combo for contact wash and clay bar treatment.
awesome!
How much do you mix of the gold class and turtle wax
Not a big turtle wax fan but still a great video
Bro thank for the 10s does it work update man saved me time 😂
👍👍👍
Josh have you ever used carpro reset and have you done a review of it?
Well I have a jug of this Max Power that I dont use anymore since I use quality soaps now but you just convinced me to pour it straight into my foam cannon and finish it off.
What do you mean by quality soaps?
@@audieconrad8995 higher end products like chemical guys or a Mcguirers gold class. No more ultra cheap blue corals with no sickness or anything worth mentioning in the soap. I want my wash mit to glide on the panel.
I used that soap before great test josh seems like a bit of a waste putting undiluted in the foam cannon thanks I just got a mjjc cannon but have not been able to use it yet thanks
What is the recommended bar to use it in a foam cannon? I am having trouble which pressure washer to buy.
Could you review the turtle wax PURE which sells for $20 for half gallon. Available on website but not available at Walmart. How is it different and why does it cost so much more?
I would see if you can get a hold of turtle wax and ask them about that.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I always get water spots and film on the car. Even after drying. Have to polish with a microfiber after or the car looks like crap.
The ph of my tap water is 12. If you are trying to measure the ph you have to take account of what your water is. Our water is very alkaline.
Sorry ph tap water slight alkaline due to mineral content. Ph 12 is chlorine. Very caustic.
@@joseroeder5492 Chlorine is 13. I just check the water stats for my city at the pH is listed at 10.4. Maybe the difference is pipes to my home and the pH detector not being completely accurate. Nevertheless, my pH is high.
This stuff attracts flies and sometimes they even get stuck on the water when drying lol. Works decent, but something I noticed
Can you do a review on mad detailing products
I'm disappointed in TW for the false pH labeling. With that said, this product isn't bad and it smells great.
Probably the best smelling car was soap I've used.
I live on well water, my ph is already 8.5. Most City water is probably acidic, under 7.
How would you dilute this in a foam sprayer like IK? Assuming I want to use it as a pre wash?
I would be very concerned about handling the Wash Chem product if the pH is actually 13 to 14. That is the pH of bleach and oven cleaner which can cause severe burns and eye damage. Maybe the test sticks are way off? I am curious what the pH is of the deionized water. Probably less than 7.
Can you try the mothers 3x triple action foam
Wild question, but being in CO and the weather always being confused, not wanting to pull all the equipment out the clean the vehicles. What is a great pre soak you can suggest for a hand foamer sprayer to be used at a regular DIY car wash?
Thanks.
Superclean 10:1
Thank you. Too bad, I bought this to assist in stripping my paint of wax with the edition to clay and iron remover.
Great video. I’ve tried this soap. It isn’t bad but not my favorite. I am disappointed that the ph is neutral.
Thanks Josh! I wonder how many folks are buying this specifically due to the false advertisement about the pH and if they would continue buying it after testing the pH themselves?
I watched this video and will continue buying it. Works like a charm for us.
I just use this in my Wheel bucket.
7 is neutral 8+ is a base and 6- is an acid simply adding water will not make it change direction and cross over into the opposite scale... acid is acid and base is base.... i feel this video needs a scientific explanation
In my maxshine snow foam cannon it does foam up really thick. Not quite shaving cream thick but darn close. I actually use it a lot on my own cars. Still trying to track down a really good bug remover tho. Any ideas on that??
Dark fury by superior , it can be used as a wheel cleaner and bug remover , and can even dilute it stronger for the cars full of bugs. I also use it to remove any tar
Could you use this product as a clay bar lube??
Hey I ordered a foam cannon and ninja sponge… on your website and the money was taken out but I never got a verification email? Just want to know if I am going to get my order thanks love the video by the way
Send me an email to dtlrsupply@gmail.com and we can figure it out.
If it still shows pending in your account it may be removed… did you get an order number? If not send me an email with the name you used to order it and I’ll see if it came through!
You need to try out carpro reset that thing brings up the dirty you can see it break down the bird droppings and the bee poop its by far my favorite soap & it doesnt kill waxes
Actually Reset can kill actual waxes and some sealants.
@@audieconrad8995 I’ve used Reset on vehicles with waxes & sealants and so far it hasn’t killed anything maybe the quality of the waxes you’ve used?
@Aaron Reynoso honestly, I've not used it because of hearsay. Glad it has worked for you.
@@audieconrad8995 yeah you should try it i was hesitant also but honestly it surprised me worked so good
Yooo Josh, I need some advice. I have the exact set up as you, Ryobi 1800 1.2gpm pressure washer with the MJJC foam cannon with the 1.1 mm profile. I’m getting runny down. I use chemical guys honeydew and it’s still runny. Any advice?
Try using the soap non-diluted in your cannon and if it still comes out runny then you gots some other issues. If it foams well then adjust your dilution ratio from there.
@@ShineAndPreserveDetailing Like just straight soap, no water added? What I think MAY be the problem is that I'm too close to the car and spraying it. Or could be the house water pressure too.
Disappointing, but really how much can you ask for when it's $7. But I can't say this doesn't make me skeptical of Turtle Waxes other products.
Is this okay to use on ceramic coating
Mannnnn, you let the cat out the bag! So 10oz and a mix of some cheap chemical guys dosecthe job for foam too. I did this when I first started now I'm using 3d nano pails
Easier just to add a little super clean or similar product to your favorite soap to boost cleaning power.
This stuff is top of the line. Just bought 10 gallons.
Do you put it in a foam cannon?
@@comeoncents3288 I have not tried it in the foam cannon. Tbh it's pretty not real foamy.
@@comeoncents3288 I was kidding. Turtle wax is junk
@@clintsaines9274 you had me thinking of buying this stuff.
@@comeoncents3288 I know sorry.
The Max Power wash is great for stripping old LSP, waxes, polish residue, etc. I basically would try to use this at full power as a strip wash.
Or Dawn dishwashing soap
@@bjjbrawler1 Yeah...though I'd probably get better lubrication with the Turtle Wax product. Dawn works though, especially if you use hot water (hot water will tilt it to the slightly more acidic side from alkaline). You could also just add a splash of Dawn to your favorite car soap. However if I really wanted to get aggressive, Citrol cleaner, followed by DupliColor Paint Prep. It depends on how old or fresh the paint protection is, and what I'm trying to do.
I tried this. Not a fan. Suds and slickness were low (using a bucket). Much prefer Meguiars Gold Class.
Can you try Chemical guys GLOSSWORKZ INTENSE GLOSS BOOSTER AND PAINTWORK CLEANSER
That soap works great and the paint looks fantastic afterwards. It also has awesome lubrication
Chemical guys?
Thats weird. Maybe the ingredients they use allows it to have the cleaning power of a ph 10 while still being ph neutral. I think chemical guys has a soap, clean slate thats ph neutral but it still break down old sealants and waxes.
That's what I was wondering too. I have used it and it seems to break down my LSP even if it was applied within a month or less. I didn't think it was that strong but it always did a decent job.
Have you ever tried Chem X Stars and Stripes
Funny you ask. I just placed it on order this past week. I am super excited to try Stars & stripes. Heard great things. Maybe in a couple of weeks.
Besides that. I am still looking for that good pre-wash product. Maybe I will just try the Koch-Chemi or Bilt hamber next.
Can you add a degreaser to your regular car soap for your pre wash.
I would think you can as long as you dilute it
I work at a chemical plant those ph strips suck. I have a actual ph meter and that soap I’ll try it
Yea I was just gonna order one from apera… or is there another one you would recommend? The msds for the turtles wax map power shows 10.25 ph
Put it in a spray bottle diluted and use it as an apc🤔
ive bought this a few times.... its really not good on a car... it cleaned my mobile home and was cheap... in a foam gun it really sucks
JOSH, let us know if you hear back from TURTLE WAX?
It’s ok but TW’s Hybrid Solutions line is far better
Where do you find this tw product at
30oz is Xtreme Xtreme Xtreme strength
If you use it undiluted in a foam sprayer then it's not very economical.
Yea I agree. 30oz comes to just over $2 and some of the Koch chemie products you can get the same results with 1/3 to 1/2 an ounce which is much cheaper per use… But the turtle wax stuff works good and if your in a pinch for something like that you can pick it up easily!
Mjjc 😎👍
PH strips that max out at 7 will not read a higher ph. There is another level of strips for higher ph’s.
I did an update video with an actual ph meter and it does come up to about a 10 at full strength
What’s the best soap then if it’s junk ??
This isn’t junk, I think it actually worked really well! It just did t change the ph the way I was expecting. Gyeon bathe is a fantastic ph neutral soap and gyeon foam is great for a pre wash. I also love Koch chemie active foam. You only need to use about a 3rd to a half ounce for great results
Foamed up well but took 10x the product vs a “pro” soap
Could you do a review on superior products
Do you think this is not superior?
Yes, I'd love to see a review on Superior Products. They have such an array of products but almost no reviews.
🤦♂️bro it was only 6 bucks why are you complaining
Like most Turtle Wax products, it’s not that good and actually more expensive than products that are far superior. TW spent a lot of money on RUclips retailers to push their products the last few years. Josh is not one of them just to be clear. Bottom line, avoid TW. There are always better, more cost effective options. For you DIY guys who seem to only want to buy stuff from Walmart, just get Meguiars Gold Class.
I seen people talking about good turtle wax is now by some people online and they bash chemicals guys. From the products Ive used turtle wax, mother's and meguires are not cheap in prices but are junk
The newer turtle wax products they released have been solid imo. Some of their older products like max power soap isn’t worth buying
I avoid anything Turtle Wax that's gram green 🤣 if it's not a part of the ICE or Hybrid line, I avoid it.
Live in harsh Carribean climate and switched to Turtle Wax Ice line for durability. When Seal n Shine came out and proved itself it sent manufacturers back to the drawing board. They changed the game which is why the diyer is now spoilt for choice. Currently use the Hybrid Solutions line and it held up under heavy volcanic ash fall for weeks. No doubt they produce duds like everybody so you avoid what doesnt work. Slick n Slide replaces Max Power to me just pure soap but Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wash and Wax works great for contact wash to add protectionboost. I do use a slicker soap first if the car is filthy. Tell me what you can get at the price of Seal N shine that is superior. To each his own but in my neck of the woods it is cheaper than Meguiars, Mothers, Griots and the products work. Duds aplenty like their green bottles....rubbing compound....TRASH!! But plenty to like in the ICE/ Hybrid solutions line.
Actually Turtle wax hybrid solutions pure wash is absolutely EXCELLENT. 64OZ for 19$. Does a great job in cleaning and providing excellent lubrication even as a clay lubricant. This particular product in this video does a good job as an every day car wash and lasts me about a year using it once a week all year with a good amount of product. So in my experience the bang for the buck factor is extremely high. It foams really well in a bucket wash which is how I use it primarily.
Pathetic marketing to say that its PH increases due to concentration. That is really bad form by TW.
Yeah...this guy is no Chemist. Chemistry is a complex art, and PH doesn't necessarily work the way you think. There are reactions that take place when yoh combine with water, or use on a surface that can drastically change the PH. Obsessed Garage had the same problem measuring PH with a much more accurate measuring tool when trying out Koch Chemie GSF...the PH would actually increase everytime he would add it to water. Rather than being "diluted" from it's base PH level.
I think this dude talks to much and confusing people even more by doing all that crazy test, ain’t no body be doing all that, people just wanna see results and a real review of product. But I gotta admit! Never liked that brand and you just confirmed why I don’t like it. To me it doesn’t work. I’ve used and seen other products that gives you better results. Thanks for your video though! 🤷🏻♂️
That’s soap sucks , for that just use super clean diluted
I've found it to work as advertised as a pure cleaner. Especially at the price as a Saturday morning grab & go.
@@audieconrad8995 super clean works just the same or better
it is garbage, if anything it is a waste of your time to use it, & a bigger waste of your money.
Awesome @imjoshv
Why not just use multiple wash mitts?
