  • How do you wash you microfiber towels? Is a question I get asker all the time. In all honesty, I keep my microfiber cleaning very simple and I didn't think it would be worth making a video about. However, because I get asked so often, I started walking through my process in my head and found that I do follow a pretty clear method that I thing is worth sharing. This process will help to clean your microfiber towels and help with longevity in both performance and quality.... ENJOY!!!

Been a long time fan of Pan, and Larry at Ammo, and recently found your channel. I have to say that you have a very welcoming demeanor, and Im really enjoying all your videos. Super informative and thorough. You're extremely passionate about your job, and passionate about passing on your knowledge to others. You're definitely going to be one of the biggest detailing RUclipsrs in the future. And FINALLY someone did a piece on Costco microfibers. Yeesh. Everyone and their mother uses it but no one ever really goes into details about it.

Same except with a quarter cup of white vinegar for extra cleaning power and when using spray sealants, waxes, ceramic detailers, etc..i soak in bucket with koch chemie gs (apc) then after a few hrs wash normal. Had issues with drying towels pushing water/ceramic detailers and not absorbing so hopefully this does the trick, felt much softer after drying. If not, will try rags to riches.

So if i only have my personal washer dryer and i want to start washing separate loads of microfiber towels in between my regular scheduled clothes washing, is this going to create a problem? Will the chemicals linger after a wash of towels, and then i wash clothes, will this create a issue? I don't really use hard chemicals (so far). Just "light stuff" like waterless car wash spray, or sometimes dash/window cleaner, that's literally it. I i would say the strongest checmical i've used on my microfiber towels is Invisible Glass for my windows, i don't know if that' considered heavy soiled.

I have a problem with dropping towels. Should you throw away towels you drop by accident and get little leaf’s stuck in the microfibers?

Throw the towels in a washer and add half a cup of distilled white vinegar and wash them on normal cycle, warm water.

Do you wash your brand new towels to get the lint and factory film out of them before you use them?

Not usually actually, although its not a bad idea!

There are several reasons not to wash your towels in the same machine you use at home. I washed a load of microfibers at the house years ago. The very next day the washer was broke. Not a coincidence. After looking into it, I found out it wasn't worth the cost to fix. So, I bought a new washer. I firmly believe that polish, waxes and maybe some solvents damaged the pump. Since, I just go to the laundromat. Had to share

😂😂 pumps pump they don’t know what they’re pumping, waxes and car cleaning products will definitely have no impact on your machine. yours was pure coincidence.

I just want to ask about drying towels. Do they have to be machine washed after every car dry? Or can they be washed with water and left to dry for the next use?

I will air dry mine for the next wash. Ill wash them if they get soiled or start leaving a residue behind

Have you ever used Vinegar, and what are your thoughts?

Hey Nick, I dont personally. A product like rags to riches will replace any need for anything else. When i use a basic free and clear detergent its usually with my window and drying towels that only ever touch water

I have 1 drying towel form chemical guys, I use 1 microfiber for washing the outside of my car, and then I have 2 towels for waxing and wiping the car, that's 4 towels total. Are you telling me i gotta do 3 seperate loads even if it's just 1-2 towels per division?

Which microfibers do u recommend for exterior washing ?

    • @imjoshv
      @imjoshv  2 года назад +1

I typically use a 80/20 or 70/30 blend 300gsm towel. As far as color goes, you can choose whatever youd like. Just dedicate a color to it so you can keep them seperate

Well, what I do with my ‘too dirty of a towel’ is I throw those ones in another pile and use them for anything else, like general automotive work, household jobs, or any place you just need a towel to clean up with. I get all I can get out of them!

There are literally hundreds of actual studies that show warm vs cold washes are exactly the same and that water temp has zero bearing on the cleaning effect in a washer. Otherwise great video
