    Have you seen that Save A Fox is looking to place 500 foxes from a fur farm into rescues? I think they have almost placed the first 100 but so many more to go and for now they stay in very crowded cages at the fur farm. If you could even take a couple it would help and these foxes have never touched the ground in their lives! Imagine how wonderful of a life they could have in that awesome 20x20 enclosure you just built?! I know you aren’t looking for animals to rescue necessarily but these guys sure could use your help and they let you choose who you want, and you can pick a family pack too.

    Skunks are such adorable animals! I saved one that was having trouble escaping from my parent's pool years ago and while I didn't touch it personally (I used a shovel to scoop it up) I felt a weird bond with it. They have a lot of personality! A shame that their defense mechanism makes so many humans treat them as a threat or annoyance. The smell is definitely bad, but it's important for wild skunks and they're peaceful animals otherwise. They'll only spray if they feel threatened, after all (and I was able to scoop one up with a shovel without it spraying, so they don't seem to be "trigger happy").

    Big things happening here. I gotta admit i was having a hard time envisioning it at first but now, now we're really able to see the scale of what yall are working on here and im blown away. The animals in your care are truly getting the care they deserve. So good to see. Too many channels on RUclips exploiting animals for views and not giving them proper space and care. This makes me very happy to see.
    Also, i have a pair of barred owls out back here, pretty sure its owlett/egg season right now.

    Watching from New Zealand. Love what you guys are doing for these animals. Your enclosures look amazing. I love seeing all the cute wee wild animals that we dont have here, which is pretty much most of what you find in other countries. We do however have some gorgeous unique native birds and a native reptile that is often called The worlds only living fossil, due to the fact that it hasn't changed from its ancestors over 200million years ago.
    Keep up the great work I always get excited when I see a new upload from you both.

    So you used coated-wire as the flooring, I really think you need to use stainless. My soil PH is 5 & my ground-contact galvanized cage-wire doesn't even last two years. You should also take note that wood-treatment was changed in 2004 from arsenic to liquid-copper so any ground-contact posts will rot in about 6 years down here in our tropical-climates. Before you fill in that trench you might also put in some underground gel CAT6 or gel CAT7 for NVR security cameras.
    Amazing setup either way, congrats on having so much to play with.
    My chicken coop is built basically the exact same way. My main issue in my coop is every year a rat-snake sneaks in at night & crushes but don't kill my hens, I always end up finding the snake within 14 days.

    • @FloridasWildest
      @FloridasWildest  9 месяцев назад +5

      14 gauge stainless would be thousands of dollars, do they even make 14 gauge stainless steel enclosure wire?! We are doing the best we can. These enclosures alone have costed us over $15,000!

    • @SlackerU
      @SlackerU 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@FloridasWildest I agree it might be expensive but two years was a waste of money in my yard. IDK what requirements you might have but maybe it would be cheaper to just do 24 inch sheets on the outer parameter of the pole-cages instead of the entire bottom. When I pulled up my rusted wire there were sharp rusted-tips of wire everywhere.

    • @FloridasWildest
      @FloridasWildest  9 месяцев назад +3

      Eveything needs to be 14 gauge minimum and hog ringed together with 14 gauge rings. This is what most people in Florida use. Ive never heard of anybody using stainless steel for any enclosures! FWC has super specific requirements.@@SlackerU
