KFX 450r next maybe if thats what your hinting at with the bayou
You didnt get stuck when you have to call someone for help then your stuck lol. I've owned 3 of these they are very hard to get stuck in snow. Mud on the other hand gets a little iffy
Use the low range.
I have a 98 Kawasaki bayou 300 4x4 and it’s very hard to start after sitting over night . And I replaced the carb and it ran fine but a few days later it’s was really had to start . To you have any suggestions on how to it fix it ?
@@ameenshalash9971 cdi and a coil did the trick for my 87 bayou 300
"put the bayou back in the bayou!"
Haha quad ricers
I though that exact thing, went to the comments to see lol
WE WANNA BAYOU
Quad ricers
first thing i tought
dont forgot to SHOUT it god bayou i will never be able to read it normal without hearing they shout that phrase lol
My grandpa gave me his old bayou 4x4 and I am still fixing it, but it is a fun little machine.
As someone from Louisiana its pronounced "bye you" lol good video
Yes ssuuur!!!!! Correct
Hehe
4:45 I dont think that's engine oil smoking out the pipe. Just think its condensation because its so cold out. All my 4 stoke's do that until they warm up. Just though i would trow that out there as a thought.
My dad had the same machine. I used to hook up a trailered 20’ boat to the Bayou and move that probably 2500 pound boat and trailer with that old Kawasaki in low range. They ride rough...but tough as nails and great crawlers.
No you cannot get it stuck for long. That is a great machine for sure. You got a good buy on it too. I know you had to fix it but it was not too terrible I guess. Tire chains would make it almost unstickable. That would be the best thing to have during deer season you ride it to your deer stand or close to it and then pull the deer out with it.
great content, the quad fix-up videos are great keep em coming
I had a 95 300 4x4, best quad I’ve ever owned, went literally everywhere you could think!
And btw, they don’t have actual brake lights!
I "working" lol on a 95 honda foreman 400 really solid quad but my sister crashed it I repaired the front rack and bumper just need to fix a electric start issue and brakes! Solid quad before the crash
I have a 95 bayou 300 4x4 and it is fun to work on and ride around.
I just got one of these to plow snow this winter. Thanks.
I have a KLT160 ATC. Its basically the same as a Bayou 185! (with one less wheel!) Very hard 2 find parts for a KLT160 so I get parts for a bayou and they bolt right on! ( I am restoring the KLT!)
I love those Klts and used to ride a bayou 185 at my uncle's farm.
@@blazerwilliams2260 They are great bikes.
Do you know if the cdi off a bayou works for the klt160
@@drift_eazy3944 I am not sure....It might work if its a bayou 185...i bought an OEM cdi for my klt of ebay. I would recommend doing the same. there is a OEM cdi on ebay for 140$,not in the best shape. I can do some research for you if you want?
well thats interesting to know. wonder if i could converter my 2 wheel to 4x4
I havent watched the video yet but I have this exact one sitting in my back yard. I will be using your videos as reference for sure.
What great memories I had on a bayou as a kid 2 wheel drive
One of my best friends growing up had one in 2wd , I remember riding the cornfields on that thing.
Haha once again finished for the week it's Friday night 10:25pm and I'm on my 8th can of captian Morgan's 6,%rum all the way from Perth western Australia,2015yz250 is ready to rip tomorrow
I got a ct200u ex and modified it a ton and it goes about 45 now which is pretty fast for a little minibike.
Bay you? Have you never watched The Water Boy with Adam Sandler as Bobby? Born on a bayou
Or listened to Hank Williams?
Hehe 👌
Awesome quad with a lot of capabilities! I also heard that its headlights are matching part on the yamaha Tri-Z headlight unit.
I just got my 2001 4x4 bayou going and I've had it out in some deep snow and have yet to get her stuck. Doest handle too good on the road but I'm sure that has alot to do with air pressure nice trails your riding
Cool video, great content. I wish you the best with your RUclips channel
Wd 40 on break rotors, break pads are no good now, you never put oil in rotors or break pads, now you won’t ever stop
Thats the way Joe Rolls.... He loves making the same errors over and over
Oil sight glass is for making sure there is oil but always go by the manual when adding oil on change to ensure correct amount.
That looks like some fun 👍 $500
Super deal
The Guru of 4x4 or anything like off road yes way to go it's great!!!!!!
Bought a 1996 400 with the Kickstart aswell as electric start for 500 runs great!!!
The ugh ohh moments. I love it! Lol
You’d think that after all his experience with atvs he’d figure out how to tie one down properly...
Fix that Honda then talk shit lol
@@crispylama7398 lmao
That was fun seeing you getting the bayou out of the snow in the ditch.
Nice bayou good video man
I have to say I enjoy watching you fix up old quades from my youth. Nostalgia hit I suppose. 👍
Takin the bayou back to the bayou!
Bayou not so bad runs pretty strong 💪
Man i remember i bought mine used in 09 used and it still runs like a champ 🏆
I have a 97 bayou 220 2x4
@@elijahleohr8405 hell ya dude
@@elijahleohr8405 for a 220, they are a hell of a little workhorse, I hope he treats it right, I know I would.
@@codycalvert2841 yuh love the old beast
@@deborahchesser7375 hell yeah runs good love the sucker
94 yamaha big bear 350 another tank of a four wheeler.could use a few more ccs or extra gear but easy to work on and auto lockers so no high or low to mess with the ultimate all round season rig.fast enough to scare me.wish i had two.snookie pa.
Mashing that gear selector again.... break the habit, for the love of gearboxes
Hey I own a bayou but its a 2x4 and for the choke move it slow because the cable will come of the carb and wont run if needs the choke.
I'm seeing this one year later. The bayou brings back memories. Buddy of mine had one just like it(1989-90) model I think. Do you still have this 4x4 Kawasaki?
Bro, i love ur channel
Id say It was worth the $500! Nice little rig, i wouldn't mind having this for a utility atv
Love the content
you should throw a new seat cover on it , paint the rims and pipe , that was a crazy good deal for $500
No shit, around here people want $1000 for 4 flats and “well, it ran when I parked it” Idiots
@@deborahchesser7375 I'm getting mine for $100 because it doesn't run. they put a 125cc in it. one flat tire, just needs pull cord, throttle cable, and ignition coil. i think it's a damn good deal for 100.
@@fierce1894 Nice I just got a 88 bayou 300 for only 220 but the wiring system needs to be worked on
@@datwalmartkid4518 nice i didn't end up getting mine, deal fell through because the 17 year old kid i was buying it from was a pos. Said he sold it under me because they offered a few bucks more and he threw a fit because i said he was an asshole. it's ok tho, pretty sure it was stolen anyways.
@@datwalmartkid4518 How's yours?
If you like the older quads try the Suzuki King Quad
Hey Bro I have a 98 Bayou with a stock pipe and it’s the same one as yours 300 I was wondering which pipe you have on yours I noticed it was different.
I had a Bayou 300 4x4 and you would be correct indestructible. One issue I had was the CDI went through a few of them not sure why. And its "Buy You"
Would love to see More 4x4s have you seen any Polaris scramblers 4x4s I think they’re sweet looking
I have a request. Can you fix a Yamaha moto 4. I have done 2 of them in the past 2 month’s. They are very fun.
i would like to see you get a crf250r because i bought a 2004 crf250r which is the first year they were made and i bought mine blew up but completely rebuilt the whole engine and that bike is super fun powerful nimble and light but it would be cool to hear your opinions on it sence you havent had anything with a crf250r on your channel
Back in the day the tail lights were manual had zero attachment to the actual brakes. I've had it out with fish and wildlife about my trike and why it didn't have a functional brake light but has a manual tail light.
Awsome👍👍
that was the best deal ever
My grandpa gave me one of these with one big headlight but they fun tho👍
i own a kawasaki bayou, but it’s in the shop for a top end rebuild, the lever is for high and low, forward is high, back is low
Those Kawasaki Bayou's are decent my brother has a Kawasaki bayou 400 our younger brother has a polaris trail boss 325 and our dad has the Yamaha raptor 660 with a vmax 600 twin
Here in Central NY that would be listed for $1800 not running. Prices are crazy right now.
I'm getting water in my rear diff constantly, I can't find the vent tube, concerned it's actually missing, do you know where it is?
Just picked up a Bayou 300. It will not start and run unless I cover the intake with my hand. Replaced carb. and it does the same thing. Can you give me any advice on what might be causing this?
I have a 2000 Bayou that has not run denver the 4th. Of July and it's a bit of a smoker denver I got it . David Tripp from central Wisconsin Adams county
Do some research into the secondary clutch. Operates off the gear lever.
i have the two wheel drive, haven't farted around in snow but, i have a VERY aggressive back tread, i didn't see a whole lot skipping through the video that i can't do, in theory you have more performance on the table with aggressive tread tires. for actual 4 wheeling
where can you get parts for these i have one with piston slap and cant find parts anywhere for it
Love your channel, I literally do the same thing, love to fix quads
The engine on those things are tanks I mean you can’t really kill them. I’ve seen people run them for months with no oil why I don’t understand but yes
Hey Bud whats your opinion of Polaris quads ? I had an Xplorer and didn't really care for it. Your videos are awesome!!
Their junk
I got a 94 400 bayou and cannot find the decompression lever like I've seen on 300s
Do I have to have a CDI box for my Cobra mini bike just like the one you had
How many you gonna buy lol great video as always
Purchased one last summer for $200 no running. Put a battery and Cdi hasn't stopped sense. I do have a problem maybe you could help with. It starts right up but takes forever to warm up like 15 minutes. As soon as you give it gas it bogs and dies. Any Ideas????
How about a Bayou 400? I would be interested in any videos of the 400s. I have two of them and they are good quads.
Lol, thanks for sharing..was that a field mouse? Maybe the hawk was looking for it. 😆
Next to honda cr250 test ride
Cool Deal . Literally 😨
I sure could use a little Kaw like that. Be easy on her, they do a lot for what they are.
pronounced Bye- You
So did you do a rebuild on it?
You should find a 2016 yz 250
Just bought one for $650.00 . NEED TO GO THROUGH IT,HASN'T BEEN USED IN ABOUT 10 YEARS. ANY SUGGESTIONZ ON WHERE TO START?
The smaller machines are more fun. I had a 500 Sportsman and a 300 Hawkeye, Both Polaris. The 300 was more fun.
If you ever sold it how much would ya sell it for?
Love the vids keep up the good work and do you remember me
Itp mud lights and bayous go together it will go anywhere
What year is this exact atv In the video , I have the exact same one but with no owner ship anyone help me
Nice
Was this electric start or pull start
but some better mud boggers on there it would a monster
You cleaned BRAKE roters with wd40?!? Man that must brake like a beast
My grand dad gave me this quad for free I love it so much it’s not fast but it get me places
I have the same quad
Put bear claws on it best kawasaki bayou tire
Gotta put the BAYOU back in the BAYOU
How many quads do you have? ;)
Not enough
ikr
42
What year model is that bayou
I want one so bad and theres one with a mint everything but motor for 500$ near me and im too broke for it
Should have used low when you were stuck you probably would have been able to drive up and out.
Its having the same issue as my grizzly 600. The lights should come on at the same time when you put on lowbeam or highbeam the one light goes on which means something wrong with the wiring. I had to fix the wires on mine.
I'd change lightbulbs first, then check wires though. The filaments usually break and do the same thing
@@M.TTT. the bulbs work since they did go on just not together
@@countryboy7643 unless these bulbs are different, theres separate filaments for the high and low, usually one can break and not the other.
@@M.TTT. true but thats not typically what happens on a lot of quads or bikes
@@countryboy7643 mmmmmmmmm, perhaps, perhaps. OR, perhaps not my good fellow
I also paid $500 for mine there really fun to ride
I kinda want that
Pronounced "By-you". Come on UWP.
lolol
Nice bike for a turn bet you could get $1,000 + for it
I got one of these that has been sitting outside for 2 decades but it looks like it was barley used
You're missing a bolt on your pullstart cover.
