I've had IBS for about 20 years, for me the problems surfaced after a year of extreme stress which led me to a depression and permanent sensitive stomach. For me personally I feel it's mostly a stress-related problem because I always "empty everything" if I eat too fast or is exposed to stress. I handle it by eating small portions and trying to keep my life free from stress. But it's a struggle, it's definitevly a life affecting disorder. A lot of planning before doing stuff etc, I bet most people here understand what I'm talking about.

I totally agree because I've noticed that before my symptoms started, I used to dwell on negative things that happened to me in my childhood. I think that by persisting on those thoughts, I've developed hypersensitivity in my nerves, so even a small negative thought can immediately trigger bowel flare-ups. However, when I calm down and have no racing thoughts, everything seems to be fine. I'm planning on conducting the test suggested from the Doc

Thanks for saying that. I've always had minor problems with my gut and periodically bloat up, doctors tell me I'm fat lose some weight, yet I'm not fat my body returns to normal size so I know. I worked in a physical job and eat healthy and monitor my sugar intake, I gave up drinking alcohol 20 years ago. Recently at retirement age I decided to move from my comfortable life to an asian country that I'd spent a lot of time in over the years. I was fine up until about 3 weeks out from leaving. There was massive stress getting my home ready to rent, moving out of it, renting it to an unknown stranger, selling most of my things. Then there was leaving my friends, leaving a life I loved, I was comfortable but I also loved where I was going. Then I started questioning it thinking I was making a mistake. On top of this I'd been running a stressful business I had decided to end because of stress. So I arrive in the new country and about 3 weeks in I notice blood in my stools so I went to a doctor. I had recently had a colonoscopy and an ultra scan and I was normal. The doctor said no worries its just damage to intestine lining, he gave me medication and immediately it cleared up. But then I started getting pains in my intestines which would be mild but annoying and be anywhere from my chest down to my bowels, it wasn't localised. After a few weeks it developed to a point I feel full when I eat, I feel like my bowels are still full after going to the toilet. During the day I can feel like I need to go to the toilet yet I can't then it just disappears. The doctor did a stool test and found I had no bacteria problem or blood in my stool. He said I have IBS. I have put this down to over stressing retiring and leaving my country. The doctor agreed. My condition has improved but is still there 3 months in. What this video says about the thin intestine lining makes sense with what the doctors said. Now reading about others with stress problems makes sense also. I've always worried, over think things and stress out.

I have avoided my doctor as they just proscribe me antidepressants which I personally do not believe in. I’m only 2 min into your video and I’m sitting here crying because I’ve never related to someone so much.. I’m not crazy, and I’m not alone. Thank you for your video.

My daughter has IBS, she went on a Fodmap diet and 95% of her symptoms stopped. Primary causes were consuming onions and garlic. She recently discovered She has issues with pasteurized cheeses, but not cheese that has been aged for 60 days. Most Cabot cheeses are aged and imported cheeses are aged. Most American made cheese is pasteurized and not aged, even though the cheese may appear similar to aged cheese, such as cheddar cheese.

The Fodmap diet can be found on the internet, eliminate onion and garlic from your diet. Also you should be gluten free, lactose free or dairy free, no chemicals in your diet, no artificial sugars. Clean eating should be your goal, nothing artificial, no package foods, read food labels.

The biggest hurdle which only IBS patients has to endure is that,
    1. Not many doctors would listen, nor they think with a strategy.
    2. Everytime you see a new doctor, it's like completely redoing your diagnosis from the scratch.
    3. If you stick with a single doctor you wouldn't know for sure if the treatment is working as optimal.
    4. Some doctors assume this as psychological problem.
    5. Colonoscopy is the defacto method to check for any single concern. Like sticking a rod into a rubber toy.
    6. You never know if there will be a rupture of colon during a colonoscopy.
    7. Not every doctor is as educated or experienced.
    8. Not many countries has best equipment.
    9. Some say it's caused due to historical drug reaction, hereditary, appendix surgery etc.
    10. Not many vaccine trails consider for IBS patients. Example: Covid-19 Vaccine has no drug study on this group.. and it's officially stated.
    11. At the end you end up becoming your own researcher, nurse, doctor, diet expert etc.

Any doctor that tells you this is stupid and needs to stop practicing. Odds are most doctors who say this are older as well. I'm not saying all older doctors say this, but you're more than likely going to get an older one to make this kind of comment than a younger one. There certainly are mental factors that go into how IBS affects you and when/how it is triggered, but the idea that it's all in your head is absurd. I don't care what their resume and education is, any doctor who says that is not intelligent.

Thank God' all of these years I thought I was all alone with this horrible disease. My ibs came along at the age of 29, and I'm now 49years old. In recent weeks I've discovered that my symptoms have decreased a whole lot, once I added green leafy lettuce , lots of ruffage ( salads ). And' most of all apples, yes just simple red apples has given me much more time to make it the restroom when I have an ibs attack. Before I've had bowel accidents in my car, even years when I had to ride the bus, I'd be late for work, because I'd have to stop by a mc donalds or any where just to use the toilet. My doctor has prescribed metamucil for me, which works great only if you cut down and or, eliminate sugar and dairy from your diet. But' most of all romaine / green leafy lettuce and apples has worked wonders for me. Good luck to everyone and god bless!!

In majority of the cases, the damage done to the intestinal villi by Celiac is reversed once the patient starts a gluten-free diet. The intestinal lining goes back to normal once there is no gluten in the system. So Celiac would be a better alternative to IBS which has absolutely no legit cure or treatment.

I have Crohns Disease. I was diagnosed 17yrs ago (teens) I fully believe that you can heal through your gut in this particular situation. I follow a very clean, plant based, organic diet, and keep a food journal of things I might be more sensitive to. I increased my exercise routine & see a complete 180 in my overall health. I shared my views with my gastroenterologist, who has prescribed me some pretty heavy meds w/very harmful side effects, in which he feels I will always have to take because I have a “disease”. I have been told by him that he also knows how “my generation is when it comes to natural healing”. I do feel very blessed when it comes to my disease as I have only had flare ups when I first diagnosed & maybe small issues towards the ends of pregnancies that went away on their own. Thank you for sharing this video & I wondered if you could dive more into Crohns aspect of it more. Would love to hear your thoughts 🙏🏽🖤

Blue and yellow bottle. 8.00 dollars. 2 hrs. Later it works. Gentle and smooth. Stay close to a restroom toilet. Oh. Heat the cup for one minute. Stir and sip and sip within 30 minutes. Slowly. Keep bottle in the fridge to get cold. Hope this helps. May god bless. Love you all. Love this dr. Also watch dr. Berg.

Doctor do you realize all that smiling was irritating to someone with IBS/IBD? My first six months of IBD at 25, I went down to 100 pounds. I "cured" myself eating marshmallows before and after every meal and at bedtime. Binding and soothing. I figured that out for myself. My doctor did nothing for me. It healed in two weeks and I was free of it for almost 15 years. It came back. Then, eight barium enemas later, and two sigmoidoscopies later, catscans, I was told I had to live with it. I did everything you said in this video on my own. I'm a bit of a nerd. Now in my late 70s I have marshmallows before and after every meal. Back where I started. No, I'm not fat. I never was. My point is check on that patient of yours and get back here 15 years from now and see how fine she is. It's chronic. God bless. I know you mean well but as you said, no two of us are alike. 🤷‍♀️

      @joekostka1298 Год назад

@@curiousbystander9193 Pretty wild that after 11 years a comment comes along. But of course that is a good thing because in my experience IBS is an insidious condition that is 100% treatable. Add to the avoid list kale, spinach and collards. The reason I haven't commented further is because my IBS is history. It's cured. No more meds or trips to the ER. An occasional bit of self inflicted indigestion still occurs but apparently my histamine levels are normal and the damage to my gut is no longer. It took several years to completely remit once I was able to kick the bad eating habits, particularly coffee. IBS sufferers must identify the foods that cause the pain, bloating and indigestion. Pills are not the answer. All other foods are okay. The important thing to remember is that pretty much any foods cause a problem when the gut is highly irritated and inflamed, when symptoms are acute. It's tough getting through that but it will happen if those foods can be identified and avoided.

My 85 y.o. mother, 113#, has been suffering with IBS and I drove 12 hours to help her get through some of her issues which have been worsening due to added stress in her life. Went for a doctor visit with her and couldn't believe it when she prescribed cimetidine for her abdominal cramping, bloating and pain. She thought it might be a "stomach ulcer!" I said "Her pain and discomfort is not in her stomach, it's in her RLQ." She has a lot of gas and the pain comes and goes. She had a bowel resection about 5 years ago and things have been getting worse only recently. Amazingly enough, I did get her to give up dairy, halelujah! She's still eating eggs and gluten tho. I'll keep trying.... will aloe vera juice help? We bought some sauerkraut today.... it's a start!

I just had an IBS attack after being on Metamucil, Miralax, and Senna. (My PCP's idea.) It might have bee triggered by the July 4th holiday when I ate too much of foods I don't normally eat, including wine cooler. Extra hydration didn't fool my gut one bit. The attack came on suddenly as I was meeting up with a frien the other day. Needless to say, I am in pain, fatigued, occasionally gassy and nauseated. It isn't helping that we've been in a heatwave here in the Pacific Northwest for 2 weeks. My head aches and one nostril is always blocked by a deviated septum. Living the dream!

I’ve been an IBS sufferer since the age of 14. I’m 40 now. To be honest I did a lot of research and several things but I could never cured it. However I made it much more manageable. Few steps include A strong 50 billion probiotic with Lactobacillus and bifidobacteria strains that surely helps in bloating and digestion . The next one is to avoid large meals and if you need then include a digestive enzyme tablet. Take a digestive enzyme that can digest all sorts of FODMAP, protein, lactose to reduce the bloating. Chew your food properly. Eat fruits like apple, oranges and whole vegetables that promote probiotics in the colon. Cut down on meat as that increases meat eating bacterias that can inflame the gut like H-pylori and Pivotella. Do exercise, meditation to calm down stress. A very important thing is to keep your vitamin-d levels optimised, magensium and zinc too. They help as well as apple cider vinegar and pomegranate juice. I also avoid wheat that’s high in FODMAP cause bloating. So eat FODMAP diet moderately.

Actually what causes ibs is low bile flow. Which is caused due to less good fat. Fat produces bile. Bile produces enzymes.
      Which clear your intestine.
My recommendation will be start consuming fat with cooked warm foods and take bile salts.

Hi Doc! I was diagnosed with IBS since 2015 from drinking coffee..Before I was diagnosed with it, the symptoms showed up..While some of the comments say a lot about cramping and pain in the gut area, mine is different. My balance is affected and I can't focus on a single thing whenever I tried to look at it..and the back of my head has a mild discomfort (it feels like someone is holding you firmly)..on the front part of my head especially my eyes, it feels like my eyes are about to pop out of the feeling that someone is pushing it on the back of my head..At the same time during that time, I've developed cold sweats on my head, my neck and my hands and feet are sweaty. I'm not sure if this is called hyperhidrosis. I've also had a hard time sleeping because i have episodes of apnea related to GERD. and I can't breathe well ( a feeling that something is disrupting my lungs). Fast forward 2019, and I'm here now. The previous symptoms have diminished but my condition came back because there was a time where I had to fast but it wasn't at home and I almost felt like I was about to faint. Since then, the cold sweaty forehead, both my palms and feet are there. One time I had to go to an interview a week ago and I tried fasting but it made it worse. I feel a lightheaded sensation over my head accompanied by cold sweats on my forehead and the feeling that both my eyes are being pulled at the top of my forehead as if I was about to faint. Is this related to IBS still? or does this condition seem like another symptom of it specifically dysautonomia? I'm really scared until now to go by myself, for long walks or drive long distances because I don't know what's going to happen if that feeling that my eyes is being pulled back can cause me to faint and affect how my brain works. What are your thoughts on this matter doc?

I have been suffering with intestinal problems for years now. Actually the symptoms seemed to have occurred after we move from GA to TN. I always had sinus issues and infections for most of my adult life. When we moved to TN they got worse in 2016 from August until about November I had around 8 to 10 sinus infections, my doctor finally referred to to a EN&T specialist.I has surgery to clear out my sinus canal and rhinoplasty surgery. Then they tested me for allergies which I do have but I was not tested for food allergies so I do not know if I am allergic to any type of foods. I was diagnosed with IBS C. I have bad bloating, gas that smells ungodly, and constipation. I have been on several medications I am taking Linzess now 290 mg. When I first started taking it I had chronic diarrhea so I had to stop taking it every day and gas and bloating was so severe it kept me and still keeps me from socializing. I am doing abdominal massage which helps with the gas and bloating, but I still have severe constipation. I have cut out the bloating foods, watch my sugar intake and do the Gluten Free and organic when I can afford to buy it. I have cut out diary and eating and drinking fermented foods. The only time I don't have gas, bloating and constipation is when I have a sinus infections and in bed and can not eat anything but soup and crackers. Would I need to go to a Gerontologists or maybe try some magnesium, fish oil and maybe a probitic?
