I've been with AMC A list for about 4 years now and love pretty much for all the reasons you listed! Premium screens included and 3 movies a week ends up being plenty. I've occasionally seen more than 3, but it's mostly been 2 or 3 a week. I love the entourage feature too! Super easy to book seats together with my partner with only one of us needing to go on the app and make the reservation!
It pretty much depends on what theaters are near you and what the quality of those theaters is that will determine what’s best for you. I had AMC A-List for a long time and it was pretty good, but then one of the AMCs near me closed down and the only other very convenient one had few screens and pretty much only showed the big, big movies, so anything vaguely indie or art-house was difficult to see. I switched to Regal Unlimited, but that has its own cons. There’s one REALLY GREAT Regal near me that has everything, IMAX, 3D, many screens, plays almost everything, even has cool one-night-only events… but that’s basically my only theater option since everything else is further away and offers less stuff.
As near as I can tell for my family at least the Regal Unlimited plan seems best. We have several regal theaters near us. The convenience fee is ONLY if you use the app. I have been a member for a year and I have no idea what the premium seating thing is. I have never encountered this and we see 2 movies per week on average.
Im loving my Regal Unlimited and i just signed up less than a month ago, watched 6 movies in 2 days already, 2 movie days of 3 movies each.. And i used to have AMC A List but the thing its Regal is the only one that have these really fun and cool formats like 4DX and ScreenX wich are both amazing !! Theres nothing like that on AMC or any other movie theater chain.. They also have RPX but that would be kinda like AMC Prime except i believe the screen on RPX its bigger, other than that its the same powerfull sound .. for me the surcharges for RPX or ScreenX its just $4 , $7 to $8 for 4DX depending if the movie its 3D or standard, but then again regular price for a 4DX ticket its like $27 !!
Love Cinemark program. Get better ticket prices and 25% off as a Platinum member. My senior ticket price is about $6.50 versus AMC senior which is twice as much. No comparison for me.
cinemark is good if you stay with them for a little while because you will upgrade to platinum 2 tickets a month 25 percent off and you can use your tickets for concessions too $11.90 off concessions even in the regular movie club
Regal unlimited all the way. 4dx, and screen x movies, and the 10$ refill yearly popcorn bucket and drink combo. Only thing I miss about amc is the reclining seats
I have Cinemark and I go on Tuesdays most of the time. It's $6 flat. I get snacks from Dollar Tree unless it's popcorn and overall it's a good value to me. The rollover credits are clutch and the points you accrue can be used for $ discounts on snacks or even a free movie ticket. When this subscription was 9.99 last year it was a no-brainer. Considering AMC stubs now but ~$20 a month toward movies automatically triggers my frugality 🤣
My wife and I have had regal unlimited for years now. There are 4 regal theathers in our city and one within 3 miles. Its such a good deal. Last month we saw 6 movies.
I feel like movie pass can definitely be a really good service in the future. It seems like right now they’re playing the ultra safe route to avoid any losses whatsoever, and so once they feel like they’re in a safe financial position I think they’re going to improve on it a bit.
I use to have amc in 2018, 2019. The problem I had was that there wasnt enough movies that I wanted to see during the month. I wish I could've had this option in the 90s.
What I don't understand is with the Cinemark one, is it really saving money. You're getting one ticket a month for $12. How much is a ticket without the club?
The cheapest you can get them is 5 - 9 on Tuesdays depending on your theater normally is 8-12 depending on the theater. IF you go to cinemark is a no brainer because of the discount and the online reservation waived fee. Then cinemark has this fun formats as screen x and dbox the more expensive ticket ive seen is 3d dbox on weekends night at 27 With your free monthly ticket it’s only 14 and if you use your reward points (200) for a dbox upgrade it’s completely free also if you get platinum (25 visits or 60 tickets) they give you two extra free tickets each year you become platinum. Cinemark is a no brainer if you go to cinemark at least 12 times in a year bc you are saving no matter what compared to a no member. But if you leave near a regal or amc and wanna go often Get those, more movies less expensive. Here where i live we only have cinemark and its great. But i wish we had closer amc or regal since i go a lot
It differs from state to state , but the problem with it being that there are other ways to get discounts, ex; in my area Tuesdays are 5 dollars but on average tickets near me are 7.50 so going once is already paying more vs people too who want to go see the movies multiple times in a week or month. It comes out cheaper but it definitely need a revamp
I had movie pass for about 1-2 years back in 2012-13… I didn’t realize how much of a good deal it was at the time, I think you could only go to one movie a day, and you could only go see a movie once. I remember going to see Argo, and then wanting to go back the next day to see it again and it wouldn’t let me select it again…. But I just selected a different movie that I had no interest in that was playing around the same time, but still getting a ticket for Argo and then using the credit/debit card to buy the ticket. I ended up canceling it for some reason even though I should have keep it. But looks like it would have ended up being cancelled anyways. I only have regal movie theaters near me so I guess I’ll do that one now.
If AMC hadn't closed down all of their best theaters where I live I'd have an AMC sub. If regal theaters upgraded their chairs from stadium to lounge reclining I'd have a regal sub. My cinemark theaters are not only cheaper but closer than other said theaters to where I live and they have luxury recliners on top of in theater ordering, full bars and special events every week. I therefore have a cinemark subscription. Just now finishing the video and kind of upset you didn't mention platinum at all. Also it's weird you say 11.99 when I only pay $10.81 including taxes every month
I figured it was normal to have surcharge for upgrade formats like Imax. Im surprised with AMC you can go to IMAX under the subscription with no extra charge actually. I live in a state where regal is about the only theater and like it for what it is. The discounts are great and I can pretty much see any movie I want under, but yeah surcharge for upgraded formats sucks. Also the convenience fee.... Like are they actually making any money on that 50 cents?
If Regal got rid of thier surcharge, I'd sign up for Unlimited in addition to A list because I'd like to see more movies in 4dx and ScreenX. The Regal by me is a really nice theater with a lounge and really cool decor. My AMC theater is more basic but has tons of screens and premium formats like Dolby and IMAX which is all that matters.
I don't recommend the Alamo Drafthouse one. There are many blackout times & screenings, and you still wind up paying a convenience charge on each "free" ticket. I really liked AMC A-List & would echo everything in this video. For me, the only issue is that, even though my metro area has many AMC theaters, they are not the best theaters.
For me the regal is by far the best not because of the features or perks simply because the regal is close to me in the nearest AMC as many miles away and it's a very old and not as nice of a theater
Can you go to the theater and check the seats and then purchase the tickets, then you won't lose your ticket for the movie pass. I wanted to do it for my mom but she is really late for movies so I don't know, but I like the idea of her being able to save money. There are some packaged deals, but I am confused on the monthly credits. They said for a year at 240 you only get 2 credits a month for NY and S CA, but you can pay monthly and get 4 so I am confused 😮
In the UK we have something called odeon limitless You pay a monthly £14.99 And you get any movie you want for free pick whatever seat you want for free 10% cimima snacks Premium stuff is payed yes but if you use it for a 3D movie £16.00 limitless cuts it to £2.00 but of course depends on what Odeon Here's my favourite thing tho I have a cimima what has screens what has only recliners now before I had to pay but then odeon desided to have 2 rows recliner plus (nothing special it's just the most picked ones) but with all the other recliners it's comes apart of imitless
A "real" RUclipsr would've traveled across the USA and tried the small theaters too..... Lol jk. Cool video. I've been considering getting one of these.
dude this video is great and super informative and you're pretty entertaining but the ai generated art makes it actually unbearable like its sucks so bad its almost unwatchable
The one question I can’t find an answer to for MoviePass is, say I have a friend or two, can I buy a ticket for one or both of them as long as I have enough credits for the tickets?
I have moviepass. Somehow Amstar knows how to running my card for multiple tickets. The other theaters I go to can only use my card to purchase 1 ticket
Can you please stop using those ugly AI pictures in the background I don't know why you use it since you could easily find stock images And it's not even that the AI pictures look good most if not all of them are heavily distorted and downright gross looking and that sucks because the rest of the video is perfectly fine
The thing is, you rack up so many reward points extremely fast. So it offsets the only one movie ticket at the start. When you go enough times throughout a year and get upgraded to platinum it's even better with two free tickets and 25% off all concessions all the time.
Screw movie pass it’s crap. Don’t listen to this side hustle, people are getting paid to sell you this pass. Amc is best . There is usually 2 movies released a week normally. Go any state and see it in any formate chose any seat on any day of the week for - 1 price
Did you actually watch the video? He states he doesn't like it because the only good thing is you can go to any theater you want. Everything else was a complaint on how bad it is right now.
i'd love to fully watch this video but the ai visuals in the background are genuinely like, disgusting and distracting. i'm just going to have to listen to it
I feel so attacked when he said😂😂😂. “Most people have a life and will not be doing that”
Yes I find myself not having enough 😂
Me too lol

AMC A list for the win.
Cinemarks the better theater tho

Can you get multiple free tickets out of the membership or if you go with your family does one person get the free visit and the rest pay?
@Ronok205 you can only get one discount ticket but they do a family plan option but I never used it so I can't go in depth on it.

Dolby Cinema format at AMC has reclining seats!

AMC is best for movies but regal unlimited has a superior rewards/discount system which is ideal for concession
Right I think Regal is the best, it just does not have many theaters. Movie pass seems so complicated

For me,
AMC for Dolby
Regal for the biggest IMAX screen around.
Cinemark for early morning shows on the weekend
The "Convenience Fee" also applies to any ticket purchased on the app. Even if you do not have the Unlimited Pass.

The .50 - .75¢ charge is only charged if you get a ticket on the app , If You Go Inside In Person ( there’s no charge , it’s free )
very informative ,thank you
The theater in my town closed. So moviepass works better in being able to attend any other theaters at nearby cities.
I have to do regal unlimited we dont have any amc theaters with premium formats in our area.
I would chose Amc A List
