I prefer Regal theaters and my unlimited pass has been a terrific value. My wife and daughter have one as well but we don't have ones on our two sons. With 2 movies a month these pay for themselves plus the 10% concessions thing is a deal.
Yes, they definitely pay for themselves, especially if you go to the theater 2 or 3 times per month. I think that Regal has better concession prices than AMC too.
I just got the regal unlimited due to their 4DX theatre, I love it and I have to drive 35 min to get to it bypassing an amc imax I've been going to for years 5 mins away.
@@djdomxx sorry, we don’t have any 4DX in my area, I think they’re only in L.A. We have RPX at Regal and it’s similar to AMC Dolby Theatres. I know for RPX they charge a $2.00 surcharge + .50 to use the app, so I’m sure 4DX is at least $2-$5 more to maintain that equipment.
AMC A-List was perfectly worth it for Avatar 2 premium showings! Watched it in Dolby Cinemas twice already both in 2D and 3D and had the center seats to myself thanks to being able to book them ahead of time! Will watch it in IMAX 3D this Friday in the largest screen in the U.S. with a seat close to the center when the ticket could easily cost over 24 bucks thanks to the A-List!
Good content. I’ve had AMC A list for a few months now. I usually like to watch movies in Dolby so having the membership pays itself back after one Dolby film. It’s well worth itb
Final Verdict: If you like Dolby Cinema (seats rattling) and IMAX choose AMC. Otherwise, Regal is a great value with lower concession prices and nicer looking auditoriums and better reclining seats.
I just made my amc sub and I’m totally not disappointed. Free reservation, any format you can watch it in, no long lines with a list. It’s super worth it if you love going to the movies.👍👍👍 If I’m not mistaken, regal unlimited only allows you to reserve only the same day which is really bad when big movies are coming out.
I like AMC A-List a lot, but I like the locations and auditoriums for Regal around Indianapolis more. You can reserve your seats the same day with Regal, but it costs you a $1.50 fee. Regal reservations are free if you buy at the box office/concession stand. With AMC A-List reservations are always free, though.
I enjoyed the video! I had A List since 2019 and agree for movie lovers it is well worth the subscription price. The dedicated concession line (and dedicated box office line if you need it although I don’t use it since it’s free to book online and in app) are nice. I can’t tell how many times I’ve saved time when the normal concession lines were packed but because I have A List I get to walk up and get helped immediately. Also love that with A List if you buy a medium popcorn or drink they automatically upgrade you to a large for the same price.
I don’t believe so, but when you first start I think you’re required to keep it for 90 days. That may have changed since I started in 2020. I believe it’s similar to a streaming service, where you can add or drop it at anytime.
I had only been creating videos for about a month when I put this one up. I’m still learning the basic, but I would love to learn how to put up graphics and give a detailed analysis. AMC A-List will cost you $19.99/Month in most markets, I know it’s $24.99/Month in L.A. and probably New York and maybe in Chicago. It looks like Monthly is their only payment option. I know that Regal has had 1, 3, 6 and Annual options and they’re $18/Month in most markets and you can see Unlimited movies.
Well, it's not really that simple. The plans are pretty evenly matched .. it mainly depends on what you have in your area. I think the commentary more or less sums that up.
With AMC, I pay monthly; from what I read on their site I believe monthly is your only choice. I believe Regal does 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. I know that I paid Regal for an annual account, but I’ve seen them promote 3 and 6 months lately as well.
You’re welcome. I only have one true IMAX screen in Indianapolis, the rest of the AMC locations just have normal auditoriums that they call IMAX. The Dolby theaters are really great, though. AMC is a great choice, enjoy.

I love those 4DX theaters too. I like Regal’s reclining seats a little more as well, great choice. Enjoy the movies!
They’re both good though.
@@excelsiormoviereviews What its the surcharge for a 4dx movie ?? I been trying to find that out..

Literally only upto date review on these 2 passes. I really liked the video. Keep it up man
I appreciate it. Thank you for watching.

Yes, everyone should get AMC A-List if they go to the movies a lot, it will save them so much money.

I Absolutely agree, you can see Dolby and IMAX for no extra charge.
Correction: I meant that Cruella has '60s-'80s music, not '90s music.
I’ve been thinking about getting the AMC pass. After watching this, I will. Thanks for the honest review!! 🙌🏽
That’s awesome! If you love to see more than one movie a month it’s worth it.

What do you mean the seats rattle? Is it like the 4DX at regal where the chair moves?
@@trauma50disaster1 Yes, they’re similar.

Thank you for the review im definitely going to look into amc subscription when my son home for the summer
Yes, It’s worth the monthly subscription for frequent movie goers for sure. Ticket prices are pretty high now and IMAX and Dolby are great. Enjoy.
Great video, thanks for sharing! Appreciate a review of each from such a passionate movie goer!
You’re welcome. Thanks for supporting for supporting movie theaters, they’re worth keeping alive.
i just got the A List. Looking forward to taking advantage of this.

Thanks. I should do an update on this topic. Yes, I try to sell people on AMC A- List and Regal Unlimited all of the time.
@@excelsiormoviereviews you’re welcome! Yeah, it’s a great idea to make an update.
@@jordan23ww thanks, I’ve been thinking about doing that for a while, because now I can use graphics that I didn’t know how to use back then.
Is a-list avail in canada?
Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s available in Canada yet. I think that Moviepass is what you guys have.
If you wanted pause or get rid of AMC stubs, do they make it difficult?
I don’t believe so, but when you first start I think you’re required to keep it for 90 days. That may have changed since I started in 2020. I believe it’s similar to a streaming service, where you can add or drop it at anytime.
This was very confusing and all over the place!… There was no itemized comparison and you didn’t say which was better in the end!
Sorry, really AMC A-List is the better deal, but it may depend on whether you have an AMC near you or a Regal.
