    The Bargman door handle is the most valuable part on that trailer LOL... The first thing I always do before I even leave the property with a trailer is put new tires on it. You're going to do it anyhow. So just do it now.

      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  Год назад

      Yeah I'm pretty stoked that the door is in as nice of shape as it is, and the handle seems to be working reasonably well also! If I would've been going any further I certainly would've brought wheels, and a flatbed, lol.

    Hey Conan! Best of luck with your new Mobile Scout! I'm the guy who is doing a frame up on a '69 Play-Mor just like yours. Mine is just a frame (repaired, POR coated, wheelwells fabbed and new jack installed) with the exterior walls saved as a pattern. Due to health issues and life getting in the way, haven't done anything to it since last summer, but your journey with campers is an inspiration for me to get busy on mine, which will be a mobile studio/inventory storage for my wife's business (custom aprons and sewing). THANK you for posting!

      Me too! 69 playmor, right now its just the frame with the walls saved for a pattern. Working on getting the rust off and painting the frame right now! I will be fixing mine up to travel! Best of luck to you!

    • @txoilfield
      @txoilfield Год назад +1

      @@auddie_equinox I highly recommend using POR-15 to paint your frame, as it converts existing rust into an impermeable surface, and keeps moisture away from the steel, preventing any new rusting.

      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  Год назад

      Thanks! The Mobile Scout is built a bit more like the Play-Mor, so it should be familiar to work on. I might be switching back and forth between it and the Aljo that I've got to get rebuilt ASAP!

      @@TrailerTrashtoTreasure I've got a question about Sketchup. Do I need to purchase Sketchup and then use the model of your Play-Mor?? I have zero experience with 3D modeling.

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  Год назад

      You can use their free browser based version of sketchup. They don't put it front and center on their website but go to app.sketchup.com/app?hl=en and that ought to get you started. Then you'll need to load my model into the app.

    Great project! Wondering where you are getting your new skins from? I just bought some from Atomic Trailer for my 71 Serro Scotty. Great people to work with and very reasonable prices! Can’t wait to see you put those new skins on! Thanks for all your hard work and posting’s 👍

      I think it's going to be a pretty simple build, and basically a copy of our Aljo photo booth camper on the inside. I'm kinda just trying to decide if I want to build them up alongside each other at the same time. It might be quicker that way, but they're constructed a bit differently so maybe not?

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  Год назад

      Well, you buy them like this for three things, a few reusable parts, the "plans" to rebuild it, and the potential to title it as an original camper (and that's probably the most valuable part).

    Where do you get your replacement jalousie windows?? I can't find them to save my life

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  Год назад +1

      I usually won't consider buying a camper if most of the windows aren't there. It's just nearly impossible to find the right size and style of window to fit, so you've just got to try and buy anything and everything that's close and try to make it work. You can buy some parts and try making your own from vintagetrailersupply.com, but you're pretty limited by what they stock. Good luck!

    • @TrailerTrashtoTreasure
      @TrailerTrashtoTreasure  Год назад

      I don't actually. I've always (to this point anyway) been able to reuse the original skins, but this is going to be the year of newly skinned campers (and I've got three of them in the works now!). If you want to see me put the old skins back on the Play-Mor you can watch it here:
      ruclips.net/video/6DYHKFKnQEg/видео.html
      I'll preface this video by saying that it was an old video so things weren't quite as...polished(?) as they are now!
