- I love to grill fish on the grill. For anyone just starting to think about grilling seafood, look no further than planked salmon. The magic of the grill coupled with the ease of cooking on a cedar plank makes for a fantastic meal.

I have cedar on my property and grill fresh caught salmon on planks all the time. I do not use salt and pepper, just dill and lemon. Add some wood chips to the grill for extra smoke, and have a spray bottle handy for the planks when the edges catch on fire. You can re use some of the planks if you like.
That beautiful Jeff Bezos hair
Turned out great on my master touch. Thanks and appreciate the quick recipe
So happy to hear it!
thats my first time seeing salmon cooked this way i bet it tasted gorges and smelled beautiful
Gorgeous and smells beautiful
“The salmon is done when the skin easily flakes… 2:36
I’m pretty sure you meant to say when the flesh easily flakes
Hello Mike, I envy your backyard. It looks like that grill belongs on the deck.
Thanks! It is actually on a lower part of the deck, but as spring arrives, I have a feeling it may be moving "up top!"
I'll have to try this next time I cook salmon. I did it on the Genesis last time, but I'll have to try it on my One Touch next time.
So much good information!!!! Thank you!
You're very welcome! Happy Grilling!
Shouldn't the plank be placed on direct heat? Or at least pre-heated on direct heat?
I think more videos should be like this. Thanks
Jessika Lopez straight to the point yet easy to follow
Looks overcooked to me. 25min at over 350 degrees?
You nailed it!!!!! Oh wow
Nice recipe thanks... short and quick going to try it tomorrow for mothers day thanks for sharing 👍👍
For those of us grilling on the genesis grill...
What's the best way to setup the burners for this dish? What's a good target temperature?
losart3d I like ythis one - you partly burn 1 side of the cedar plank.

Yum!
My planks are with so many splinters, should the planks be sanded down? Or they are that way for a particular reason?
Can you use other types of fish??
Love the video 👍🏾🙏🏾
I did it with halibut last week that I caught off s.f Bay and it was really good. Perfect amount of smoke flavor but not too much.
great video
Thank you!
0:44 me watching the video right before cooking the fish T_T
Where to gt the plank
great fuckin video! starting to want to use panks more often, now because, Aldi's comes with one when you buy their salmon lol
Nice!
been cooking salmon this way for decades and have made many of my own recipes, DONT use sockeye salmon this way there's not enough fat content in the salmon
Calm down who made you the salmon police? 👮♀️
I have been putting sockeye on cedar planks for years and I love it. So does my family.
What were the vents set at?
And super expensive I saw 2weber planks and cost £10! Get real its a tiny plank of wood for sure not worth more than 50p let alone a tenner
Luke Free fall check it out Cedar Grilling Planks - 12 Pack www.amazon.com/dp/B009BFBNWO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7piHBbJTN442A
$15 per plank I agree seems very expensive to the say they least, I predicate this on the assumption that because of the extensive soaking, the fact that theyv must loose their smoke quickly as it infuses into the food and that they can catch fire and burn (hence the water spray) all must mean these planks are single use and can't be washed and used again. In which case will defo check the cheaper non OEM version because if only single use, the cost per pertion along with the ingredients would be very dear.
If they are reusabale even if just for 5 plus cooks then I would consider the OEM.
Does it work with chicken, pork or beef too?
It sure does. I've had some great planked chicken, and even beef fillets!
Are planks reusable or only useable once?
Are these planks single use ???
Use st least 20 times...just clean a few times
Good vido
Is this plank a one time use only?
its intended for it but ive fired two salmons with one plank the second use taste better lol
the flesh is not skin
Lol wait can I use this on a propane bbq
I think, if you don't show the cook, and you don't taste it, you're doing your videos wrong. Cut into it, show us, and taste it for crying out loud.
Can I put tinfoil under the wood to keep it from burning.?
If I wanted to taste wood, I’d eat wood. I actually like fish to taste like fish. I know, missing the whole point right…
I mean the charcoal is going to add a lot more to the flavor than the plank anyways. I take it you just don’t like things grilled or smoked, or do you like eating charcoal too?
@@tweezybbaby886 sushi…
15 minutes per pound why bother hmm
Hey Guys! You should consider checking our videos out! We cook our planks similar to this but with flavors baked into the wood!
