My favorite singer by far! If we could give to someone the title "Dio's successor" that would be Sir Russell Allen. Incredible performance indeed although he messed up a little the second chorus of "Triumpant!! Champion of Ithaca!" 🙂
They're still so good. I can't believe how amazing Russell's vocals still are. I saw them play in a small Phoenix club back in 2003 and they surprised EVERYONE with this as the encore. Was at the front of the stage since a friend's band opened and I was there early. Being a mere few feet away from these gods as they played this song will be a memory I'll never forget. That and taking LePond to Jack in the Box afterwards in the bed of said friend's truck.
The guy can do literally any genre you throw at him and do it damn well... I heard him do a James Brown tune for karaoke the night before the start of one of the progpowers and he slayed it!

I saw the last show in the US at the Wellmont Theater in NJ. I was blown away literally. The volume was unbelievable and was sitting in Loge seats. Russell had his kids on the stage at the end of the show.
This song is an absolute masterpiece. Every time I hear it I hear something new and it just gets better and better. The fact that they can pull this off live is a credit to the incredible musicianship on display. This if you who got to see this live are lucky, indeed!!! Russell Allen is an absolute rock star with the best vocal chops in the business. This band should be at the top, selling out arenas and living in mansions in the hills of Hollywood like the big rap and pop stars of our age. They’re objectively better on every level…but that’s not how art, music, and commerce work, unfortunately. Hope I get to see them live again one day. 🤘🤘

BTBAM preformed the entirety of Colors live which is even more crazy than this. also with these long songs it helps if you wrote them because you'll naturally remember everything. they're also my favorite band so im biased but they're just dream theater if their music had balls
