Just started watching competitive 64, its so god damn fun to watch. It feels so different from any other game in the series at this level. Its kind of more calculated and a bit slower paced like brawl, but it has even better combo execution potential then melee or Project M. I feel like so few hits are stray hits and they almost always lead into a full on combo.
Michael Young I would put Wario 4th right now because we hardly see him, but looking at his record, he did amazing. He isn't as well, but still great. I think they are experimenting with the four stock rule because this was implemented at smash con, which was not that long ago . So we will see what happens in the future.
This set wasn't as hype as winners finals, but it was still good. Wizz adapted to Alvin, while Alvin was struggling to adapt until the end. It happens, but I hope to see more 64 tournaments.
This is an honest question for the 64 community why is Luigi ranked lower in tier than Samus she seems worse from what I have seen, and from what I have seen Luigi's quirks/up B kill power makes him better. I don't know much 64 I'm just observing and questioning. Please be nice (also I know this was a completely random place to ask this lol)
Alright thanks for responding. Maybe Samus just has higher kill power or something lol. Or this game is just to well "balanced" ... cough Pikachu cough cough ...
I can answer this. While Samus is the only member of the cast without options to 0-death, she has powerful tools in Charge Shot, get-off-me Up-B, quick and strong aerials, and okay survivability. Luigi, while having the 0-death ability, has no possible way to approach, or have a neutral game. When it comes to a game where anybody can 0-death anybody, you need to be able to either get in or keep people out. Luigi has neither, due to a bad short-hop, a bad projectile, and ineffective get-off-me moves. Samus can outcamp an opponent, rack up damage, has several kill moves, and has Up-B to end either your or their combos and get out safely, back into neutral. That's why Luigi is last place.
Thanks a lot that is really interesting actually! I was wondering because I see so much Luigi from random players/ Isai it just makes him seem better than he is when it is actually the players not the character. Samus just isn't common so I had no real data to go off of. Thank you again Zoruastriansism
Me parece que fue falta de contumbre al match up, no hay muchos Yoshis como hay Pikas o Falcons, puede ser que no haya estado cómodo. Igual, Pika es mucho mejor match up que Falcon contra un Yoshi
In a game that tests the physical and mental skill between two players, why should the players be able to be given advice from others? To me, it becomes a 2v2 after that, not a 1v1, which completely ruins the point.
Wow this is the first time I hear from a competitive game where the fans are AGAINST coaching. Almost seems like the community is uneducated about competitive games/sports or something. And yes, Chess do have coaching.
Man, 64 players must hear the Dreamland theme in their sleep
It's called dreamland for a reason

Just your average, every-day, really fucking high class match. Great games to watch. Go 64!
The match just finished, this is dam fast
This was recorded underwater, very cool, love that sound
Since when 64 started using 4 stocks instead of 5?
Why wasn't anyone coaching Alvin?
maybe his options for coaches weren't very good
he has poor English iirc, mariguas I think tried because he speaks Spanish
Wizzy's a BEAST!
Love the camera angle at 16:46
So who are considered top 5 in Smash 64?? 1. Wario 2. Superboomfan 3. Isaiah 4. Alvin 5. Wizzrobe?
Fan is considered number 1 while Isai becomes 1 when he actually tries, would put Wizzy either 3 because we hardly see Alvin.
Zero_OR 5 Where would you put Wario then? Also why did they switch from 5 stocks to 4?
Michael Young I would put Wario 4th right now because we hardly see him, but looking at his record, he did amazing.

alvin and wizzy way better than isai, its just that isai is a legend, so he got most fans/respect, wario still the best 2020
You forgot me
Wizzy is a FUCKING GOD
This set wasn't as hype as winners finals, but it was still good.
Wizz adapted to Alvin, while Alvin was struggling to adapt until the end. It happens, but I hope to see more 64 tournaments.
Yo Wizzy popping off game 3 set 2
Lets fucking go Wizzy! 👍👐
lol 13:25 "alright buddy stream sees you"

I love yoshi

The general consensus is that Luigi is ranked poorly because his short-hop is garbage. But Samus's short-hop is pretty bad too so I don't know.

Luigi's Down + B, Up + B, and Up Smash are pretty good get-off-me moves :)

Christ, Wizzy went to town on Alvin.
Wizzy is the Hbox of Smash 64
"64 is boring"
I don't like 64, but *what a set!*
Love wizzy but coaching is bullshit

MissingName - Lyrec & Krinh that is completely false, imagine coaching in games like chess
Chess has coaching you absolute moron.

Smash 64 = Chess
Melee = Connect Four
Brawl = Checkers
Sm4sh = Chinese Checkers
Wizzrobe's playstyle is so pathetic
3 years ago but why ?
