If you learn anything from this video its that Persona 3* is an emotional rollercoaster Also sorry for being gone I was playing the entire Trails series lol
@@kellyforgey5737 I just beat Cold Steel IV like 3 days ago, don’t worry I 100% will be making something on Trails, already started writing a whole video on why it’s underrated and why just about every Persona fan should give it a try
@@Caidren facts, Trails is the first thing I’ve played since Persona that really scratched that same itch. I love it as much if not more, Reverie can’t come soon enough
@@ricardomiles2957 The anime makes his backstory hurt more. Long story short: emotionally numb, suicidal, fights cos he feels alive for the first time, dies in the end because he finally found something worth living for and, thus, worth being killed to protect. In the game, you could just think he dies as a side effect of the seal, but in the anime he's fully aware he's going to die but does it anyway.
@@WolfyFancyLads I think it’s revealed in The Answer that he could tell he likely wasn’t gonna survive but chose not to turn back. So it’s game canon too.
@@WolfyFancyLads holy shit I never watched the anime, I'm shocked how on the money I was on his backstory and I mostly tried piecing it together from the lyrics of burn my dread
@@tronmerncutsman Oh yeah, Asia is very literal with its lyrics in things like this. I think they do it with all vocal songs in Persona games, they just love telling a story with the song.
That ending... Its one of the few acceptable ending in my opinion. It feels so sad, but at the same time, so fitting with hiw the game set you up with the relationship, story and gameplay. It's just... GOD! I actually cried to a game ending bruh. That's just... I'm the type of person that feels numb almost the entire time I interacted with anyone. I just feel like the game was made spesifically to stab me right in my cold, dead heart. Especially the Sun social link... It DID however made me treat some people better. So to people that say "Video game don't teach you anything", this game made me more humane than being apart of a society for 20+ years.
To be entirely honest, I wasn't surprised by the fact that Mitsuru's family was behind the incident because reading through Old Documents made me realise that, and it still wasn't as surprising. On the other note, I cried when Shinji died, and I was speechless at the end. None game has done this to me in a really long time,
He gets even more uncanny once you play The Answer: >MC never told anyone about his impending death >Aigis was left traumatized >MC's soul is eternally cursed to be a door between Nyx and humanity's desire for destruction(Erebus), singlehandedly saving the world from its inevitable doom >Elizabeth left The Velvet Room to find a way to free MC from his fate >The whole epilogue is literally about dealing with the grief of a loved one's death
Love that the only part of this that is not a part of the main story was the sun social link. Honestly, the social links were very bare-bones in Persona 3. It was the first time the mechanic was introduced as far as I'm aware, and while it was a cool addition, it wasn't really fleshed out nearly enough. But the one social link tho, it hits different. Akinari is so great.
This is accurate. I remember for some reason I cried at the end of my first playthrough as the credit rolls and the music kicks in trying to think what just happened.
It was kinda the opposite for me. I cried a fair amount at the end of P4 and P5, not because it was sad, just cause it was over. After P3 I only cried a bit, and was mostly just in chock, kinda. Maybe a month later though, I was doing some homework, listening to some persona music, and then soul phrase came on. I stopped to listen to it and just think about it for a bit, and then I stared crying fairly uncontrollably. To this day, if I think about P3’s ending (and it in general), and my thoughts spiral far enough, I can make myself cry
The final blow for me was that i played P3 Portable as my first Persona game and I romanced Ryoji... Yeah the final boss was very weird lovers to enemies for me (and i cried a lot too lmao)
Shoutouts to persona 3 for making me bawl like a baby a total of 3 times once at shinji's death, another time after the sun arcana was maxed, and the end of the game To this day whenever I listen to Memories of the School I just break down crying man
Recently just played and beat this game for the 1st time and it was one of the greatest games I’ve played regardless of it being older, and seeing this makes me happy because I understand it all and sad because I know the inevitable end
No I feel like in the end yes it was sad but at the same time It shows how far Makota and everybody else came I felt like the last scene with Aigis was beautiful and in the end It leaves you with a bitter happy feeling Leaving you broken but happy too and it teaches you that Life is something that should be enjoyed thats my 2 cents on all of this
"Only Ms Kashiwagi likes you" lmao "Aigis, Ken, Koromaru and Shinji join" His reaction is accurate tbh. With that said though, welcome back, I've missed you!
Getting 4 people in the span of like a month was so hype, especially since you’re like drip fed a new character once each month in the 4 and 5, and thanks ❤️❤️
Is like... you know what the truth is, but you're still in denial. >P3MC/FeMC dies -No, actually... he/she fell asleep, and then woke up, so the rest of the SEES members are not utterly traumatized... +Dude, there's The Answer, he's a giant seal door and not coming back -...as I said, that's the FES addition and it's fine but it's optional... +He's fricking dead as stated in P4A -True, you're right, but these are spin off, not necessarily canon... +All of them are canon, just get over the fact alread... -I WON'T.
You forgot the moment that you realize that death is destined to everyone, but with that life itself still being beautiful enough and you don't need an specifical objective to being alive, just having someone to want to help
Very accurate. The only big event this is missing is Chidori and Junpei's moment. Second only to the ending of the game for me in terms of being an emotional trainwreck afterward.
If you playing as Femc (persona 3 PSP), shinji is still alive but unplayable.... He is wholesome and warm heart. Well, I don't regret choosing shinji till the end. Best couple
The only thing I would add: • You gain the power of the Universe and avert the Fall with the Great Seal! • The Great Seal costs all of your HP to cast.
seriously, I had so many links I wanted to finish and then Aigis shows up and is like “you won’t finish my link if you don’t hang out with me everyday”, I ended up having to look up hers so I could finish the people I had at like 8 or 9
You want to know how more heartbreaking the ending gets if you saw Aigis' hidden recording, you found out that she was able to see a person's vital signs. Aigis knew that Makoto vitals were starting to decrease and that when he closed his eyes, he passed away.
Too bad this VR mission, I mean, Hot Springs execution is canon. Definitely "Impressive, Snake, I mean, Minato!" vibe in AU where guys are good at stealth.

How emotional it gets is the best part 😢
