U guys should watch hunger games
So 2 of you guys didn't watch it in theatres but want to monetize the reaction?
U lot should watch the maze runner trilogy
Fun fact instead of that post credit scene it was supposed to be in Latveria revealing the MCU debut of Doctor Victor Von Doom aka Doctor Doom the big bad of the Fantastic 4
@@suezcontours6653 3 didn’t watch 2 did
I CRYED for Shuri at the end when I saw this in theatres. She finally was able to say goodbye to her brother and then she suddenly got some part of him back. She let go but then wasn’t alone anymore. It was so bittersweet and I loved it.
Everybody Cried..)
Factssss
Yaa, it was like Shuri was representing us the fans during the whole movie 🥺🥺
I crode too 😭😭🙆🏾♀️
RIP Chadwick, Black Panther was a role meant for you and you will be missed
And his is a legacy that will be felt for generations to come. ❤

I loved the detail that Shuri’s suit had some gold and teeth on it to call back to Killmonger’s. Visually connecting her anger to his way of doing things.
I love how everyone knows to be silent during the marvel op. Same thing happened when I saw it in theaters
I had an upset stomach and everyone was quiet and I ripped ass because I couldn't hold it and I prayed it was a silent one but it wasn't it was loud and wet and I was so embarrassed

The way this movie portrays grief is so spot on. I lost my dad and my mom back to back in 2020 and 2021 and everything Shuri was feeling was exactly what I was feeling. Denial, regret, anger, depression, etc. I was a wreck watching this movie. And I still loved every moment.
So sorry for your loss😢

26:15 In the comics, Namor has a famous battle cry called "Imperius Rex." I've seen it used in cartoons so I'm glad they still incorporated it into the movie
Agreed. Although I'm still more used to Imperius Rex over the mayan translation. But hopefully we'll hear him yell it more in the future.
The scary thing about Talokan in this movie is that, unlike in Wakanda where only the Black Panther drinks from the heart shaped herb from Bast, the people of Talokan, *all* drank from their Blue plant that their god gave them.
There was a deleted scene where Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda did get to meet little T'Challa. Of course, for obvious reasons, the scene was deleted so that the reveal in theaters would be as it was to the fans.
Although the filmmakers and Angela believed that the Queen meeting her grandson was a beautiful and heartwarming scene, everyone agreed that it was best to take it out and show him at the end credits scene.
She meets him in the film. He's one of the three children Ramonda meets when she enters Nakia's school.
@@night.josephine yeah, but we didn't notice until the end credits if you watch it for the first time. for the second time, you will recognize him and that's what I liked.
I love the surprise. The place to put that scene was at the end when Shuri asked, “Did my mother meet him?”
It was very nice on how they paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman in this movie. RIP the king. Angela Bassett was fantastic, hope she wins an Oscar. ❤
She already did
@@Microme955
She didn't actually
@@thealjohnsonshow2188 Yes she did
She didn’t win the one for wakanda forever
But she has won an Oscar before.
This movie was super emotional and really well done. Can't imagine how hard it must have been for Ryan Coogler and the rest of the cast.
Friend group and I walked out of the theater in silence until one of us said, "I'm sad. I felt like I just went to a memorial." After some quick and quiet agreement, we got to our cars and left. Of course, we talked about the cool scenes later but no words immediately after watching.
I really like Namor's character, glad he survived at the end. It was a really emotional movie and the tribute was amazing.
My mother died from similarly to Chadwick Boseman from complications from cancer a few years ago, and like Chadwick she kept the fact that she knew she was dying from us until a couple days before she died. So it was very hard to watch this movie, not just because of my mother, but because Chadwick Boseman and the character of T’Challa are my heroes.
But it was still a beautiful and cathartic movie to watch. And coming out of the theater I met a family of 10 black people who like me were wearing all white out of respect for Chadwick and T’Challa, we talked about how much we loved the movie and afterwards they let me take a picture of them with their phone in front of the Wakanda Forever poster. One of the most beautiful and cathartic nights of my life.
As for the story itself, I loved it. People think that Namor is the villain but he’s not. The real villain is white, European imperialism. Throughout history European empires plundered other nations for either resources or for slaves. Even though it’s 2023 it’s absolutely believable that either Russia, China or the U.S. would look for any excuse to dismantle non hostile nations just to rob them of their resources. The Contessa herself is a perfect example, she’s practically salivating at the idea of America owning all the vibranium in Wakanda. Everything Namor did was because he wanted to prevent what has happened throughout human history to happen to Talocan.
And I still cry my eyes out at the end with T’Challa’s son telling Shuri his real name. Rest In Power Chadwick.
Angela Bassett performance was prime👌
Absolutely
When I watched this film I had especially enjoyed how Ryan Coogler had directed the scene of Shuri visiting the ancestral plane because it was clear that Shuri being submerged in water was symbolic of her being drowned by her sorrow and isolation due to the deaths of Ramonda and T'Challa; and when she surfaces to the throne room I imagine the display of fire was meant to be representative of the overwhelming emotions of hatred and fury that Shuri held in her heart for not only Namor but for the entire world.😔
Pat turning into a 12 yr old kid whenever he sees killer whales is my favorite part of this reaction lmao
I am proud to be born as a Mexican knowing that this movie gave my aztec ancestors tribute viva Mexico and Talokan 🇲🇽
I agree! I'm a black American and we don't get the respect of other minorities like we should! A black man put put Mexican heritage in the forefront!
Tlālōcān
Mayan
I am a black man and I have to say I don’t understand why everyone feels the need for their culture to be represented or shown in one movie or the other.
I’m not trying to hate, I’m honestly just curious.
@@Microme955 Representation allows people to build a deeper connection to characters and movies/TV shows when they are able to see themselves and their culture portrayed in mainstream media for everyone to look at and notice when in real life im pretty sure people dont know to much about African or Ancient Mayan cultures besides the people who belong to them.
This movie I feel is less of a superhero film, it is an introspective of grief and the different ways to deal with it. The grief of the characters and our grief from Chadwick passing. Truly beautiful from start to finish.
I started bawling my eyes out when the dedication to Chadwick Boseman came on at the ending of the movie. Everyone in my theatre was silent at the tribute. And Dominque Thorne will be back for her own show IronHeart sometime in late 2023. And the characters that deserve their own shows next is Okoye and M’Baku.
I’ve heard rumors that the midnight angels are getting a show or special presentation
Namor is actually Marvel’s first character they ever created. He’s more of an antihero as you can see. He’s usually on the side of the Avengers typically and he is a mutant like the X-Men. Best way to describe Namor is about every Sports team has that one cocky confident trash talking asshole that you love him if he is on your own team but you absolutely hate him if he is not, because then he’s doing it to you. That’s pretty much Namor just with powers and a ruler of an underwater nation.
Technically if you want to go by how the reader saw it, it was the Human Torch. They debut the same time, but as the reader, you're introduced to Human Torch before Namor
Pretty much lol
"Are they avatars?" that line 🤣🤣
The painful silence during the Marvel Studios logo back in the theater was heartbreaking. So painful.
Respect
I think something Namor's character failed to realize is that since he hardly visited the surface world, he's absolutely unaware of how the contributions of those heroes that are apart of the surface fought off one of the largest incursions during the events of Infinity War & Endgame ; because had groups of the surface world like the Avengers had loss to planetary threats like Thanos, Talokan would have certainly shared the same fate as the surface in due time. Also given the fact that the existence of Namor's empire of Talokan had not been explored during the events of Infinity War, I wonder how might Namor's kingdom might have been effected by the snap?🤔
Yeah that's something that's not really explored. What happened to them during the snap? How many were snapped and what was their reaction when they came back?
I didn't even think of what their reaction to snap was until I read tour comment. Now I want to see Namor and Talokan experiencing the snap.
@@justsomeintrovertedhuman5726 remember when Steve said he saw a couple whales around Hudson during endgame, maybe that’s Namor sending his warriors to check out what’s going on
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like Nakia is as much to blame as Ramonda for sparking a war between Wakanda and Talokan.
On a brighter note, I’m gonna miss Trevor Noah on the Daily Show but I’m glad he had more lines as Griot this time around.
I’m personally glad this film wasn’t too funny, but Riri and M’Baku helped to bring some lightheartedness during this hard time.
One particular thing that I like about this movie was that we got not one but TWO indigenous actresses from Guatemala. María Mercedes Coroy (Namor’s mom) and Doña María Telón (the elder Nakia spoke to) are both from Santa María de Jesús in the Sacatepéquez Deparment. My parents are from Quetzaltenango.
The film’s score includes edited versions for some of the soundtracks’ songs, but they didn’t add the film’s version of Alone by Burna Boy which includes an excerpt of Stormzy’s Interlude at the start of the song. In the soundtrack, both songs are separate.
Senegalese musician Baaba Maal who provided vocals for some of the background music in Black Panther 1 and 2 got to a cameo singing at T’Challa’s funeral.
Tenoch Huerta got to reprise his role for the Latin Spanish dub.
I will always remember the funeral scene, I am a huge fan of all of Chadwick's work in all of his acting roles. It was such an amazing tribute to a great actor and a phenomenal human being
When Shuri chose to spare Namor, I REALLY was hoping they’d use the voiceover of T’Challa from Civil War: “Vengeance has consumed you. It’s consuming them. I’m done letting it consume me.” Just to mirror the journeys that Shuri and T’Challa took in seeking retribution for their parent’s death
Actors like: Tenoch, Angela, Lupita, Letitia, Winston, Mabel, Alex and Dominique have been the best. They all gave their great performance for the movie. But on the other hand, this is more than just a superhero movie. Since this made a significant blow to everything that chadwick represents for the universe of Marvel and Black Panther. And we know that his legacy will always and forever live on. WAKANDA FOREVER I MISS YOU BROTHER CHADWICK🖤🤍🤎💜
Danai gurira too, don't leave her out
"Imperius Rex" is something Namor regularly shouts in the comics.
The lil kid is sooooooo cute omg especially when he said i guess my heart melted in the end 😭😭😭
I adore this film because it so clearly describes grief. I was 10 when I lost my first sibling- when Shuri said she wanted to burn the world and everyone in it, I completely felt that line and just sobbed in the theater. That was exactly how I felt when I lost my brother.
The very first silent opening title card for marvel with T'Challa's scenes was such a rollercoaster of emotions. Rest in glory Chadwick 🕊
I think there needs to be an oscar for Angela Basset's arms, because god DAMN. But really, everyone in this movie brought their A Game.
And I love that the Talokanil only have blue skin when they're out of the water, probably because they get air from the water through their skin, so they're no longer getting as much as when they're submerged.
Namor is the first mutant. Not chronologically of the lore (many are older, like Selene, Apocalypse, and any other mutant that could be retconned/created. But Namor is the first character in the Marvel publication history known as a mutant (he was retconned as a mutant in history, but as the second Marvel character, he's the first mutant published)
He’s the first marvel character not the second
Ms. Marvel first in series/movies
@@personanonomys6546 Human Torch (the android, not Johnny Storm) is the first Marvel character. They paid homage to him in Captain America (he's in a display case at the World Fair)
Chris' comment on Black anger resonated with me. Thanks to everyone for your reactions.
I'm truely very impressed about this film. Ryan Coogler is like the only person who has the ability to continue Chad's legacy. Also, there's a chance that Angela Bassett will win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress which I think will most likely will happen because I felt her pain while watching this. 😭😭😭
The opening scene when the Dora Milaje stepped out of the shadows and the Talokan boat attack scene that followed...sheeeeeesh. They knew what they were doing.
… really liked Namor, hope we get to see more of him in the future
I hope we see Namor again either Avengers Kang Dynasty and Avengers Secret Wars or Fantastic Four.
I think they teased that in the movie at the end, by Namor himself.
Ppl complain Shuri had a quick change of heart, but, she also finally realized that Killmonger appeared to her as a warning..she needed to make the connection to him as his rage and vengeance was a destructive example. The clincher was the Queen appearing to her.. The angel outfit looks a bit like Predator to me.. I thought Ironheart was well introduced..what better way than her being a genius that invented a vibranium detecting machine..I didn’t think it was contrived at all..
True... And they don't realize that she hasn't fully grown out of it yet... It is just a start... It wasn't an instantaneous boom!!! I am goid and healed... I am better now...
She literally just started to accept the deaths at the end of the movie...
This movie was the PERFECT way to act as a tribute for Chadwick but also still move the black panther story line forward. Seeing this in theaters was so surreal. Pure silence and only the sound of tears and sniffles. It was such a perfect sequel ❤
The Talokans would have definitely won. I'd like to see how they handle them in the MCU in the next few movies. Will they become a bigger threat or a friend?
Hopefully they still do them justice... This is a good premise for a new start in the MCU...
RIP King Chadwick, you’re legacy continues but your impact on this world will never be forgotten 👑
i really love the after credit scene
When the 1st time I watch Shuri shaking her head in the end credit when she know about Prince T'Challa, my mind start dialogue "Oh shit! Now my title will be given to him." 😂
A cool What If episode would be What If Shuri decided to kill Namor, a full all out war between Tlalocan and Wakanda and Tlalocan potentially taking over the world would be really interesting.
That is very much like a possibility... Seeing that Tlalocan has a very definite advantage over Wakanda in terms of tech...
A very scary possibility...
I love your reaction to this movie, it was definitely very emotional and heartbreaking to watch, and it was the best choice to close out Phase 4 of the MCU given how it was a period of grief, loss, and legacy, rebuilding the world and the universe after Endgame. I love this movie so much, and they handled Chadwick's passing very tastefully and respectfully. Angela Bassett was absolutely phenomenal, a true Queen in every sense of the world. RIP to both King T'Challa and Queen Ramonda. Namor and Talokan were a great addition, and I can't wait to see more of their culture in the MCU'S future.
The opening is vary emotional it’s hard not to cry
As a Mayan descendant, I am slightly disappointed that in the reaction video there was no footage of you guys to the origin of Namor, the origin of his name, nor the beautiful moment when Talokan is shown, I was looking forward to see the reaction to those scenes :(
I agree. As someone who loves underwater related things
Someone gets a spear through a bunch of major organs…
Pat: Nah that’s in her midsection she can survive that
I love the optimism Pat
Have i not given everything - the best line !
this multicultural couch!! The comraderie, the realness!! OUTSTANDING!! This film was epic!! Angela Bassett..deserves everything!! The entire cast brought it..WAKANDA FOREVER..well done!!
Toussaint was conceived before the Snap. That's part of why Nakia left after T'Challa got dusted. Couldn't deal with that.
The original pitch for this movie was T'Challa coming back after being missing for 5 years and rebuilding his life and getting to know his son.
I am glad they at least confirmed he spent time with them before he passed.
My biggest gripe of the movie:
Wakanda has a mountain of the rarest metal (vibranium) and its the strongest substances on earth. However, M’Baku went into battle wearing armor made of coconut shells🤨
What’s up with that?! lol
For those that don't know, "Imperius Rex" is like namors battle cry. He says it in the comics a lot when he's fighting someone.
This movie is an emotion for black panther fans ❤️
Not sure if you guys noticed but after Shuri becomes Black Panther, and she puts on the suit, her hair is styled almost the exact same as Killmongers when he wore his suit in the first Black Panther. Not sure if it was intentional or not, but yeah noticed it while I was watching the first time and thought it was cool
I just happen to live in Chadwick’s hometown of Anderson, South Carolina. this man has done soo much for the local communities & kids down here. Wakanda Forever, My King 🤴🏿🙅🏼♂️🍻
Yes..both the heart shaped herb and the underwater plant growing out of the rock both got their powers from Vibranium..a large chunk split from the meteorite that hit Wakanda..that’s why Shuri could use the dried fibers in the bracelet for the missing DNA sequences she needed to restore the heart shaped herb to grow..
Falcon and Winter Soldier we got introduced to Val and also saw her in the in credit of Black Widow.
21:32 notice, she doesn’t do the 3 point hero landing. Just a crouched cat-like predator landing.
I just watched this 3 days ago for the 1st time. I felt Letitia's pain. What a great tribute to Chadwick. Namor/ great villain performance. Look forward to seeing more. Him in those green shorts those shorts. Always love seeing The Dora Milaje, AYO is my favorite and she is TERRIFYING! Also, Angela Bassett!! 64, !! Amazing!!!! Great Reaction.
Love Rana’s reactions ❤
You could tell the actors put Chadwick's loss into their performance.
Angela Basset really killed it and I really love the Storyline 💖💖💖
What I love about the ending, with Toussaint and the point of him being raised in Haiti, is the fact that Toussaint is actually the name of our freedom fighters of Haiti which soon became the first successful slave revolt EVER. So, Toussaint being raised in Haiti means he gets to understand what his name means and the weight it carries (which is great foreshadowing).
RIP King Boseman. 🥺🕊🖤
All the actors killed it this movie it was an amazing respectful tribute to Chadwick & they showed us Atlantis pretty much & Namor was great I’m glad he didn’t die I’d love to see more of his world
3:31 This moment...reminding the world about how badass are the Dora Milaje!!
Namor is a mutant because he is half human and half Talokan but he’s not the first mutant. Apocalypse, Exodus and Selena the vampire are also older
For me Logan is the most serious marvel movie they've ever done and one of their best
Pretty sure he meant "MCU MARVEL MOVIE" by his statement, not just movies of a Marvel character.
Yeah well Fox was bound to do something right despite how much they mess up on Xmen.
@@alexanderthegreat5649 I know, but I was just saying for me

Facts
Shuri proved that there is a difference between good and bad people and your background doesn't excuse your actions. She had every motive to go full heel, to go full antagonist and feed off revenge but in the end she took the righteous way out because deep down she was a good person. Everyone has a backstory, how you chose to respond is solely on you.
"Backstory" in real life influences the probabilities of certain outcomes for individuals.
A fictional character does not prove that we can neatly divide people into bad by nature and good by nature. Nurture is a significant part of the equation. Take professor James Fallon. He discovered that his brain scans had more in common with people in jail than people outside of jail. By nature he should have been a psychopath. By nurture, he is a father and productive member of society.
People get stuck in patterns that they repeat over and over again because they require outside intervention like therapy and medication to meaningfully change the electrical pathways seared into their brains by their genetics and experiences.
You and I, we are not intrinsically good (nor are we intrinsically bad). Believing you're one of the "good" ones can set you on the path to justifying everything you do as good. Sephiroth was the good guy in his version of events. Stay humble.
Angela Bassett needs to win an Oscar for this & R.I.P to Chadwick 💜🖤
lmao marvel simps need to grow up
This was a beautiful film!
Apparently Thunderbolt Ross from Incredible Hulk & Civil War has been recast after William Hurt’s passing. They got Harrison Ford now so I’m predicting he & Val are gonna have pivotal roles in Captain America: New World Order & the Thunderbolts.
I think we’re headed towards Dark Reign with the government taking over & replacing the Avengers with the Thunderbolts. Ross will probably become Red Hulk & fill the Norman Osborn role of becoming U.S. President (there’s a different Secretary of State in this).
In the comics, it takes place after Secret Invasion which is an upcoming Disney+ show so it all adds up. They’re probably gonna come for Wakanda which forces Talokan & the Avengers to come to their defense.
This will be our Civil War-like conflict before the multiversal shit hits the fan in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty & Secret Wars. Those films will force everyone to get back on the same page against the much larger threat-Kang the Conqueror (& possibly Doctor Doom if they follow the comic storyline).
Yeah Ross is one of the antagonists in Cap 4 and will allegedly become Red Hulk.
Holy shit Angela Bassett KILLED IT.
I haven't re-watched Black Panther since Chadwick passed, but I suspect that movie will hit a lot harder, knowing dude was battling cancer.
Walking out the theatre I thought this movie was a masterpiece. Watching it again it’s still just literally as good a movie it could be
10:11 Namora tells him to "stop playing games." Fun fact. That move with the water grenade is from an actual mesoamerican type of game.
Reminded me of Road To El Dorado
Also "Toussaint" refers to the first of November where traditionally people mourn and remember their loss and brings flowers to the cemetery. I don't know if They picked that name on purpose or not but I found it interesting :)
It was the first black person that started the slave revolution in Haiti, that was his name
@@Iletyoulive yeah, Toussaint Louverture
Man no Marvel movie made me cry like this one. It just really hit on such a personal level. As much as I love ALL the heroes, as much as iron man’s death hit me…. There was nothing like this. It destroyed me to see in theaters.
Watch it 4 times during opening weekend and I cried everytime at the opening intro. Such a beautiful movie
Watching this movie, I never felt like it was a superhero vs. supervillain like some Marvel movies. It honestly felt like how two nations would resolve problems in the real world, just with comic book abilities.
The Atlanteans and Atlantis are in the comics, and Namor is considered the first mutant in Marvel. He is the son of an Atlantean princess and human sailor, making him a 'half-breed'. He is a child of both worlds, hence why he can breathe on land and underwater, and doesn't turn blue when deprived of oxygen. They utilized mesoamerican culture and mythology for the Atlanteans, including their capital city of Talokan (Tlālōcān, protected by the Aztec rain deity Tlāloc, paradise for all who died through drowning or lightning, or as a consequence of diseases associated with the rain deity), they spoke yucatan mayan, and referred to Namor as k'uk'ulkan (yucatan mayan deity known as the feather serpent god). Namor is best described as an anti-hero, as his moral alignment has shifted for decades from being a hero to a villain, usually due to his disdain of air breathers.
The talokanil with feathers in her hair is Namora, Namor's cousin, who is also canon. The larger warrior with the hammerhead shark skull is Attuma, who is considered a villain in the comics. They may play it out that Attuma separates himself from Namor and becomes the bad guy post-Wakanda Forever, but his involvement is sorf of vague. The wings on Namor's ankles are canon and considered part of his mutation. Namor calling himself a mutant confirms the X-Men in the MCU, which Namor is sometimes affiliated with in the comics. I love what they did with Namor, giving that culture preresentation for a character who has so much potential. I am really happy how they did the Atlanteans/Talokanil justice!
4:31 Fun fact: That UN spokesman who was asking Wakanda about not sharing its resources also played Odin in God of War Ragnarok.
I knew he looked familiar
19:38 - This is the reason why you never watch with people who have already seen a movie you're reacting to. Shit like this where they drop hints. Like let them enjoy and be surprise/confuse when a huge reveal arrive.
27:30 flashback to the comics where Shuri responded to Namor's peace offer by nuking his city, perpetuating generational war
Navi's hair is on point
Rip our King 🖤
You guys are my favorite reactors and I've had a horrible day but you all never fail to help my mood out. 🖤
In the comics, Attuma is actually a villain of Namor and they will explore it in his stand-alone movie
Saw this opening night in 3d at the theater and boy was it good a full house so many cheer's and crying 😭 it was the best 🥰
"THEY GOT A KILLER WHALE?!"
This is where the fun begins 🙏🏽
Fighting the Talokoans on their home turf(the ocean) was...an idea...
When you recognize the beginning isn’t Shuri trying to save T’Challa…. But Letitia trying to save Chadwick
I 100% agree with Chris in that this movie is an emotional journey and that's what makes it so special and so fantastic. I've now seen it 3 times and I still cry every time. Angela Bassett ate every scene she was in and looked flawless doing it! Leticia Wright was also phenomenal as she portrayed Shuri's journey through grief. thanks for another amazing reaction guys! ❤
I’m glad that the five of you liked how they honored Chad as much as I did. I cried when they mentioned him
Rip chadwick and Angela deserves all the awards she killed it and it good seeing shuri kill her role as well taking on a very heavy mantle. That scene where she cries when toussaint tells her his wakandan name gets me
The midnight angel outfit is comic accurate… I dont see how iron heart was thrown in when she was in the middle of the conflict from the beginning to end. Did you want more Okoye comic relief? Definitely wanted a recast but the tributes were poignant yet delivered with grace… Shuri is US in thus film, over the time when this was started and finished we all lost alot, but in the end i hope we learned how ,much we actually had and do our best to take advantage if it moving forward….
I surprisingly enjoyed this movie more than the first BP, although I did miss Chadwick’s presence in the movie. Still the best Marvel thing from last year compared to everything else we got from them.
I didn't like the final battle but that movie made me cry way more than the others!
Give Angela Bassett her long overdue Oscar NOWWWW!!
