14:30 Techinically Wanda's children aren't fake, they are forged through magic. They may not be born from womb but their molecular density or existence are the same with any regular human. Quote Agatha 'A being ,capable of spontaneous creation.'
31:45 there wasn't a former Scarlet Witch, if we're going to follow the writing/lore of the SW in MCU, 'she was supposed to be a myth.' However it wasn't explained in WandaVision on why Wanda was the destined Scarlet Witch, how did she get her powers. Was she neither blessed or cursed by Chthon or her mother tried to tapped into magical energies such as the Chaos Magic.
53:29 "I've had the dreams too." I believe you are right. If dreams are snippets into the multiverse then 838 Wanda experiences the horrible nightmares of Scarlet Witch from 616 and then wakes up and remembers they are only dreams and that she has a great life.
Wanda was corrupted by the darkhold. After the events of Westview she's been reading it for several months so the darkhold has severely corrupted her. Also, there was no "previous" scarlet witch, our Wanda is the only one that's ever been. The reason why there was a scarlet witch throne is because there was a prophecy in the darkhold that someone, at some time, would become the Scarlet Witch. The throne was made for a future one. So now that Wanda became the scarlet witch (as prophesized), that throne belongs to her. Oh, and to my knowledge, the other wanda variants aren't scarlet witches - they have access to magic but none of them have reached the climax of becoming The Scarlet Witch (like wanda did in wandavision) so there's only one "Scarlet Witch" but there's multiple other Wanda Maximoffs who aren't The Scarlet Witch.
Wanda was already in rough shape because of her kids. The moment she read the Darkhold, she sealed her fate. It has a will of it's own, and corrupts the reader. It drove Wanda to an even further extreme, where she genuinely thought she was in the right. But being shown how terrified her kids were of her shook her free of the control over her.
SOOO at 52:32, According to Elizabeth Olsen, when she yells STOP IT, that was a real reaction! She legit yelled at those kids to stop throwing the toys! hahahaha
I think it's important to distinguish the _TIMELINES_ that strange looked at in Infinity War with the _UNIVERSES_ here. Strange was looking at all the possibilities for the future of that universe from that point onward, but different choices will never result in a paint dimension for example

@@SethRGray pretty sure, he glanced through some of the pages trying to find the possession spell. So maybe strange must've trying new spells to prevent dormammu from returning now that he doesn't have his time stone, preparing using the darkhold spells and eventually caused the incursion. Can't wait for Dr strange 3💥
in Agents of Shield, the Dark Hold rewrote itself to provide every person that read it their greatest desire. The evil of it was that ultimately, it was warping the minds of its readers to make them fulfill the books desire. It was never really stated in the show what that was, but most things people did caused harm to another dimension that they stole energy from.
It's similar in the comics - with VERY few exceptions, it will eventually corrupt you by giving you just enough of what you want. The number of people who've safely used it can be counted one one hand
@@resurgingflame They've pretty intentionally avoided the question about what's canon, but the canon isn't really relevant here. That's how the Darkhold has worked in ALL it's appearances, whether TV or comics. It gives you what you want but it's gonna corrupt and warp you. Pretty standard Evil Item trope
@@resurgingflame Agents of Shield appears to not be canon, but there is lots to say that it may be included in the MCU in the future. The series tied in with many MCU movies.[spoilers ahead] It utilises several MCU characters during their time in the MCU not the least of which was Fury himself. Also, in season 7, they used the very same Quantum tech Endgame used for time and multiverse branch traveling. Beyond that, there were several notable Agents of Shield tie ins in WandaVision. This may also be because Agent Coulson is the one who gave the Avengers the location of Hydra's final bases, where the scepter and the twins were. He also secretly rebuilt the air carrier that save the people from Sokovia. Thus, he played a crucial role in the events that took place there, up to and including, Wanda and Vision getting together as a couple. Beyond any of that conjecture, there is one simple thing that is probably the most abundant reason the Agents of Shield will be included into the MCU, most likely as a separate multiverse, is the inhumans. Inhumans were constantly a major part of Agents of Shield from the pilot episode to the final episode. The MCU though appears to be lacking any even slight reference to inhumans. The most convincing argument for this idea is the recent Ms Marvel series. So many people keep griping about how her powers came from her being an inhuman. Clearly, so far, the character in the MCU has no connection to inhumans and doesn't show any link to them at all. This is easily explained if one simply sees that inhumans are like the Xmen. Something that doesn't exist in the MCU multiverse, but in another one. With that in mind, remember that the AoS multiverse has the tech to travel multiverses and time, so we don't even need an MCU character to initiate contact from that multiverse. They can literally show up anywhere anytime. Just something to keep in mind.

I loved how when Charles Xavier came in a snippet of the 90's animated series theme played in the background. Also Strange didn't say there was only one universe where they defeated Thanos; he wasn't checking universes, he was checking timelines. It's like what's the outcome if we do this...no? Then what's the outcome if we do that, etc. There was only one timeline where they won.
31:57 The Normies questioning and theorizing what they don't understand while the very scene they're talking over is answering those questions. Yup. Classic Normies. 1:04:49 These guys don't even get the Inhumans reference and still put the disrespect on Black Bolt. My dude got improved and done dirty in this movie.
My favorite part of the movie is when Strange trapped Wanda in the mirror dimension. Strange thought he can contain Wanda but she quickly understand the situation. Just like mirror, water also reflects and that's the reason why she escaped the mirror dimension. Ancient One said no one can get away in the mirror dimension without the sling ring but Wanda just escaped.
Black Bolt, one of the most powerful, as well as King, of the Inhumans; who has gone 1-on-1 with comic book Hulk (not the MCU powered down Hulk) and at its loudest his voice can literally shatter a planet. "And Swatto. I refuse to learn his name."
Chris saying “I can see why some people wouldn’t like this… I LOOOVE THIS” at 50:12 is exactly how I feel! It’s everything I could’ve personally wanted out of a SAM RAIMI Doctor Strange movie, cheese included!
When undead Dr. Strange formed his cape of demonic souls and fought for a few fleeting moments in that form, the first thought in my head was "This is a better live action Spawn than the actual Spawn we got in the 90's with Michael Jai White!". My second thought was "THIS is how you do PG-13 horror/violence. THIS is what Moboius should have been since the studio insisted on doing a non-R vampire movie." Basically, Hollywood at large could learn A LOT from the way Multiverse of Madness was made.
11:03 Yeah the PARTY was wiped from his memory not the existence of Kamar-Taj itself just the memory of the full moon party that they kept there. 16:08 She would have beaten Thanos on her own if Thanos hadn't called for his Airship to "rain fire". Even Monica said it in WandaVision that Wanda could have defeated Thanos on her own. Wanda is OP man. I love it 😻 24:00 No guys. There was no other choice in the 616 universe. Timelines and universes are different. Timelines exist WITHIN universes. So in the main marvel universe the BLIP was the only way. But in the 838 universe there would have been different timelines so a different outcome would be possible there. 30:54 Lol y'all were talking when Wong was explaining. Chthon the first demon carved the spells in Wundagore which were later transcribed into the Darkhold.
24:00 in Infinity War Dr Strange goes through every TIMELINE (not universe) within his universe to see possible outcomes. at that point he knew almost nothing of the multiverse.
That is Clea. The neice of Dormamau and the sorcerer Supreme in the dark dimension. I believe they even got married in the comics. Since they bringing up incursions, this might be setting up Avengers 5 Secret Wars.
Love that Danny Elfman did the score, and it was integral to the movie. Also, they used the same actor to play Black Bolt as was on the horrid Inhumans show. I'm really hoping Kamala Khan is still Inhuman, despite the subtle power changes.
Charlize Theron is playing Clea. There's a whole history there - in the comics, she is the niece of Dormammu and the daughter of Umar (who has not yet appeared in the MCU). She is also the great love of Strange's life - they end up married, though she later loses that memory. In the current comics, Strange is dead and Clea has taken his place as the Earth's Sorcerer Supreme.
Funny enough with Clea showing up it makes one page from the original Illuminati series tie in really well with this. For one a version of the Illuminati are in the movie, a reality warper who can do whatever they want is the main threat (the Beyonder), Dr Strange is shown waking up shirtless in bed and the two naked women at his side in this perfect world are Clea (female lead of the next movie) and Wanda (female lead of this one). Both of whom had studied under Strange and done some other stuff under him.
To be fair, it isn't a bad thing that he noticed the change in her outfit. There's a lot of people I know that thought they changed it to make it more villainous, not realizing the small details within her outfit indicate a corrupted and heartbroken Wanda.
@Azrael’s Shadow actually they did pick that up. they just didnt want to mentioned it so they can use that in the next marvel film where Dr Strange gonna powered up with all the knowledge from the Darkhold.
57:50 - 58:36 Charlize is actually playing Clea. In the comics, she's Dormammu's niece, and she becomes a sorceress under the teachings of Strange. Afterwords, she becomes Strange's lover, and then eventually, his successor as Sorcerer Supreme. So here, they're introducing Clea bringing Strange back to the Dark Dimension to fix the incursion.
Marketa, the only argument I have against your "Wanda and Strange should be equally affected by the dark hold" opinion is Wanda had that book for months, if not years, and read it over and over trying to find her kids.
I loved the Evil Dead, Drag to Hell, Aliens, Spider-Man 2, Army of Darkness, Carrie, Twilight Zone, The Shining, The Ring, Day of The Dead, Oz The Great, and Powerful, and the 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 references in this movie. The Magical Duel was badass. We also saw The Living Tribunal. I also loved the music in this movie.
24:00 What they need to understand is that there might have been another way for Thanos to die in that other universe, but Doctor Strange only saw all the possible TIMELINES, which are different from alternate universes
Mark 1:05:18. "It's over!", isn't just a meta joke about the movie ending after the promise of, "DOCTOR STRANGE WILL RETURN", it also lets us know that three weeks elapsed within the timeframe of the movie, plus the time before that spellcast.
The Darkhold corrupts and the corruption is so strong it even effects it’s surroundings. She may have had the best of intentions in the beginning but Wanda became incredibly selfish and power hungry without realizing. It’s unfair to put ALL the responsibility on Strange when it came to handling the Thanos situation. Strange’s decision against Thanos affected trillions while Wanda’s decisions are meant to benefit only her. Had she not gone down a dark path she could’ve simply asked America to find a reality where her boys existed but she didn’t. But the Darkhold’s corruption was out of her hands and by the time she discovered America, she was already too far gone. Also, just an FYI… Wanda has always been OP af. She is a Nexus being after all. And infused with the power of the Darkhold and on a psychotic break she’s even more of a threat. The result of it is basically House of M. Also, there is no other Scarlet Witch. The prophecy told of one, Wanda. The one who wrote the Darkhold was Chthon. Also, the Darkhold corrupts the more you use it. Strange wasn’t corrupted by the Darkhold but the third-eye was an inevitable side-effect from using it. And Charlize plays Clea… who is amazing and is the niece of Dormammu.
In comics Wanda got her powers (eventually becomes Scarlett Witch) when she was an infant born at "Mount Wundagore" (Transia, eastern Europe) and was touched by Demon Chthon (former Elder God about 1 Billion years ago and wrote the "Darkhold" at Mount Wundagore) to mark her as his pottential next vessel for the future.
"I didn't know Wanda was that powerful" Well, the truth is she is extremely underpowered in the movies. In the comics she's considered the strongest or at least one of the strongest characters and she also deleted all of reality along with every Marvel character if I remember correctly. This movie was a good little hint at what she's capable of but she can do so much more. "How did she not beat Thanos?" I think they just tried to give her the usual "I don't know how to control my powers yet" excuse in the movies, since she was still being experimented on in Avengers Age of Ultron
Lol Serge I love your multiple Zelda references during this. My favorite part of this movie was what he did with the Zombie Strange and how he turned the damned into his cloak. That was so Sam Raimi and I was HERE for it!
No guys, in our Strange's timeline (616) that was the only way to win. In the new universe's timeline Strange defeated Thanos. Strange in Infinity War looked at all possibilities in HIS universe
Suraj was so dumb when he said that. There's supposed to be an infinite number of multiverses. Strange only say 14 million possibilities. don't know where he got the idea that different possibilities equals different universes
@@arafat9828 Just remember, it's in their name, "The Normies" they're just watching it as they go along without concerning themselves with what has happened prior. They're just enjoying it. There's no problem with that. I just correct whatever I think needs correcting.
The actor playing Black Bolt in this movie is the same actor who played him in the Inhumans tv series from a few years ago. He and Xavier actor Patrick Stewart are both also captains in Star Trek, in fact, both actors had their own Star Trek shows airing at the same time on the same week that this movie was released.
One thing I’m still questioning in Multiverse of Madness is how none of the other Wandas had Vision be there since he’s her husband & technically father of her children. Marvel really couldn’t get Paul Bettany for a few minutes of screentime?
I mean it’s the same with how do we not see a avenger in every movie like the beginning scene where strange is fighting that octopus creator was filmed in NY like where’s Spider-Man?😂
we only saw one other version of wanda and in that universe her kids are technically actually real (made of flesh and blood) vision is made of vibranium, so those children most likely have a different father
16:59 Mark! "Dark Red"? As opposed to "Dark Scarlet"? 🤔 Quote - Scarlet is a bright red color, sometimes with a slightly orange tinge. In the spectrum of visible light, and on the traditional color wheel, it is one-quarter of the way between red and orange, slightly less orange than vermilion. "Wikipedia". - End quote!
Here's the best analogy for the Multiverse. The Multiverse (a collection of timelines) is one gigantic forest. Each parallel timeline/universe is a tree, and each alternative timeline/universe is a branch. In this movie Strange is traveling through different parallel universe; trees. In Infinity War Strange looked at the many alternate timelines/universe; branches of his parallel universe.
@@malcolm00xl You have to remember, alternate timelines are considered universes as well. The term is used interchangeably in the MCU. That's why I said "parallel" and "alternate" to help distinguish the two
@@calvinallen3424 Agreed. With the off the wall things that Pat says, it's really telling that Suraj's constant stream of dumb questions/comments is what drags their reactions down for me.
There's a certain irony to Anson Mount playing a silent character in this, and giving some truly fantastic speeches as Christopher Pike in Strange New Worlds. Also, this has an abnormally high number of Enterprise captains in it.
It's also interesting when you consider that if the Inhumans TV show had been successful, then Anson Mount would have never been cast as Captain Pike or gotten his own show because he would have stayed playing Black Bolt.
They did say who inscribed the Darkhold runes. It's an ancient demon nsmed Chthon who tries to use the Scarlet Witch as an earthly avatar to destroy the world
I loved when you guys were commenting on Wong. I was like "Yep, universe 616 is ours, and it has the most bad-ass heroes in it. Our Wong is Sorcerer Supreme, so..."
Speaking on Doctor Strange‘s time travel trips trying to figure out the best way to beat Thanos. I took it as he wasn’t traveling to different universes he was just assessing the different timelines that will come about from the decisions made in preparation for the final battle.
There is basically a villain version of every superhero i believe. Because every choice matters. Any of the heroes we know could have been villains if they had been confronted to different situation 🤔
About who wrote the spells on the wall. When they entered Wong said that the first demon Cthon inscribed the spells on the walls and later it was copied into the Darkhold. There is no such thing as a former or previous Scarlet Witch. There is only one, Wanda Maximoff.
I was in my head thinking, “of course Wanda is stronger she got her powers from an infinity stone.” And then it dawned on me, captain marvel got her powers from an infinity stone too lmao
This movie was great. Loved how it was directed in a scary movie type dog way. People don’t realize at the end of the day she is a witch. Makes sense for her to be scary especially as the villain of the movie.
I find it insane that we could have someone like Tony discover time travel in a night, or Hank Pym create a way to shrink down to an atomic level, yet the 616 universe still hasn't met the smartest man on the planet, Reed Richards. The MCU Reed Richards is out there somewhere doing who knows what
I'm almost convinced he's stuck in the quantum realm with the rest of the Fantastic Four and we'll meet them in the next Ant-Man film, explaining where they've been this whole time and they can keep their 60s origin maybe. It might be a little similar to Cap being frozen to allowing keeping his 40s origins and put him in the modern day, but I'm sure people will be fine.
I like how they've put the doubt in many of us that Strange could be lying when he said there was only 1 way of saving the universe. Also, he only looked through 14M alternate timelines (because he was interrupted), out of an infinity of them.
I honestly dont like that fact because it seemed pretty clear to me that that wasnt the intended thing to take away from all this. In Infinity War the "Sacred Timeline" was still intact = only one outcome allowed = no multiverse if i understood it correctly. Now it isnt anymore. Strange wasnt lying, he was working within the boundaries he was at the time and with the best knowledge he had.
The guy whose name Suraj refuses to learn is the king of Inhumans…Black Bolt (Boltagon). Daisy Johnson is my favorite inhuman but she wouldn’t be possible if the main Inhuman character in the comics Black Bolt and his Queen Medusa didnt exist.

This is like if you get so drunk you don't remember the new year's eve party in New York, and then every time you mention the city after that your friend says "I thought you couldn't remember New York"
Pat is brighter than Suraj at this point.
He's not that smart.

“That’s what every mother does.”

The fact for gargantos they took scans of Wanda’s eyes to foreshadow is a cool detail
@1:06:20 Black Bolt is the king of the Inhumans, in case you guys didn't know. It's the same actor from the Inhumans show (Anson Mount)
It basically brainwashed her into thinking she was doing the right thing, whatever may be the consequences

Doctor strange has a photographic memory. Since he read the dark hold I don’t think he can forget it
I didn’t know that, interesting! Even so, the only spell he had time to read was Dreamwalking. Which admittedly can destroy universes, but still.
@@SethRGray pretty sure, he glanced through some of the pages trying to find the possession spell. I guess after the events of MoM, he must've tried some of the dark magic and spells he memorized before destroying and dark hold and probably went abit too far and eventually caused an incursion. Maybe that's why Clea went looking for him in his universe. I mean she said he is responsible for the incursion and by the looks of it they were headed to the dark dimension.
Darkhold in AoS is not canon to MCU tho. Heck I'm pretty sure they said all the shows before MCU Disney+ are not canon now.
I'd imagine the Darkhold's goal is Chthon's goal and Chthon's goal is probably similar to Dormammu's.
6:24 Mark! It looks like one of the toys that used to be a prize in a box of breakfast cereal, or you could save your box tops and mail-order some, or spend a QD in a vending machine and get it on a plastic capsule.

Beautiful
Yeah looking at other universes wouldn't help in determining an outcome

When undead Dr. Strange formed his cape of demonic souls and fought for a few fleeting moments in that form, the first thought in my head was "This is a better live action Spawn than the actual Spawn we got in the 90's with Michael Jai White!". My second thought was "THIS is how you do PG-13 horror/violence. THIS is what Moboius should have been since the studio insisted on doing a non-R vampire movie."
Basically, Hollywood at large could learn A LOT from the way Multiverse of Madness was made.

24:00 No guys.
Strange did fight training in his first movie with Mordo. He did learn some fighting skills!

Wong explains where the carvings in Wandagore came from.
The Normies:
"Who wrote all of that? Was it the previous Scarlet Witch" 😂🤦🏽♂️
Marketa, the only argument I have against your "Wanda and Strange should be equally affected by the dark hold" opinion is Wanda had that book for months, if not years, and read it over and over trying to find her kids.

And the reason strange wasn't corrupted was because he used it for like 5mins...lol
Wanda used it for 8 months
why doesn’t wanda has a 3rd eye then?
@@at_oussama Because that might be in relation to the Sorcerer Supreme who deals in a different type of magic from Wanda’s chaos magic.
"I didn't know Wanda was that powerful"
Well, the truth is she is extremely underpowered in the movies. In the comics she's considered the strongest or at least one of the strongest characters and she also deleted all of reality along with every Marvel character if I remember correctly. This movie was a good little hint at what she's capable of but she can do so much more.
"How did she not beat Thanos?"
I think they just tried to give her the usual "I don't know how to control my powers yet" excuse in the movies, since she was still being experimented on in Avengers Age of Ultron
She almost did beat Thanos. And they “rained fire.”
She didn't "delete every marvel charecter"

Here's the best analogy for the Multiverse.
The Multiverse (a collection of timelines) is one gigantic forest. Each parallel timeline/universe is a tree, and each alternative timeline/universe is a branch. In this movie Strange is traveling through different parallel universe; trees.

Also, this has an abnormally high number of Enterprise captains in it.
It's also interesting when you consider that if the Inhumans TV show had been successful, then Anson Mount would have never been cast as Captain Pike or gotten his own show because he would have stayed playing Black Bolt.
