Know what's kind of funny? The whole Blackbolt trying to talk/yell with his mouth gone. Let me explain. See, Blackbolt has a pretty great handle on his power that he doesn't: talk in his sleep, and he wouldn't yell or make a sound if you startled him awake. All pretty impressive, right? So many people totally missed the fact that Wanda's mind has been corrupted by the Darkhold and her actions in this movie wasn't under her own free will. Think about how Bucky was brainwashed by Hydra...but 50x worse. Agents of Shield season 4 really shows the full potential and power of that book so I definitely give Wanda a pass for her actions in this movie
I think you missed the fact that Wanda read the Darkhold of her own free will, knowing it would corrupt her mind. This is the equivalent of saying you'd give a drunk driver a pass if they killed someone with their car because they were under the influence of alcohol.

Clea, who is occasionally the Sorcerer Supreme of the Dark Dimension.
Clea is actually Dr. Stranges wife, and she is the niece of Dormammu, the magical being Dr. Strange traps in a time loop in the final battle of the first Dr. Strange movie.
Blackagar Boltegon (Black Bolt) is the Marvel character that leads The Inhumans. At one time Kevin Feige had planned to introduce The Inhumans with a film during Phase 2. Those plans were revised and the movie was turned into a TV series on ABC that starred Anson Mount as Black Bolt - the same actor that appeared as the character in this film.
Likewise, the alternate universe Captain Marvel was not Monica Rambeau (who appeared in WandaVision and will later take the name Photon) but Monica's mother Maria Rambeau (introduced in the film Captain Marvel).

Captain Carter from the Multiverse of Madness is not the same Captain Carter that was in What If. And Blackgar Boltagon is a variant of the character from the TV series Inhumans that came out earlier. Well, Captain Marvel in the Illuminati is Carol Danvers' friend Maria Rambo.

Clea was Dr Strange's original inter-dimensional love interest in the comic books. Bruce Campbell ("Pizza Poppa") is the star of several Sam Raimi movies as "Ash Williams" and this is definitely not the first time his own limbs have given him a hard time.

I'm sure someone has said it but the Inhumans was a one season Marvel series. The Inhumans were also a concept explored in Agents of SHIELD

Glad you guys had fun with this one! Sam really pushed that PG13 rating. Just a few points to clarify:
- Wanda's mind was corrupted by the Darkhold. If you'll recall, Agatha's fingers were black tipped due to her using the Darkhold. Wanda here also had the same as well as Sorcerer Supreme Strange from universe 838.
- As Sinister Strange mentioned (and just fyi, he is not the same as the What If Strange), the Darkhold takes a toll on its reader. When our Stephen used it, it definitely came back to affect him a la the ending.
As for other points, it seems other commenters have pretty much covered the rest! But, as always, let me know if you have other questions!

People often forget that Aang is a child, you are asking a 12year old to commit murder! All his past lives were adults who led a very different life to him. He stood on his belief and went above and beyond to find a way to accomplish his goal while sparing the life of ozai.

That was Monica Rambeau from Wandavision, it was an alternate version of her mom, Monica. They always play with the idea that it should've been her to take Carol's place in the first film and ultimately become Captain Marvel.
The difference between sorcery and witchcraft haven't fully been described as of yet. My own theory based off different descriptions of magic sorceress harness energy from other dimensions. Witchcraft draw energy from themselves or other sources of magic converting it into their own power. Another example of the difference between the two is witches are born with power and sorcerer must learn to wield the power.
That what my first assumption was except in spider man it implies Ned had magic powers that from his family line so he was born with powers
The woman at the end of the movie is Clea. A powerful sorceresss and stranges eventual wife in the comics. However how similer her movie counterpart will be to her comic counterpart is still to be determined.
@11:24 You guys ask what is the difference between witchcraft and sorcery. The answer typically depends on which fictional world you're dealing with, but very generally sorcery is "good" magic that can be learned by anyone and witchcraft is "bad" magic which requires some form of sacrifice.
Because of the prevalence of the movie The Wizard of Oz in Western society, the modern concept of a witch is almost always woman but before the 1930's a man could be referred to as a witch (which is evidenced by the bearded witches in Shakespeare's MacBeth and real life Gilles Garnier who was executed in 1574 for witchcraft). The distinction here is that these characters are threatening due to them having magical powers and a whole slew of words can describe them: sorcerer, magician, magi, charlatan, shaman, wizard, warlock, and illusionist.
While sorcery and wizardly magic can be used for both good and evil, witchcraft and witchery is almost always viewed as abhorrent and unnatural, such as bringing someone back to life or making it so that someone has a child. Many ancient stories about witches revolve around them using their magic to torment desperate people with promises of youthful looks, love, or fertility. One of the oldest stories of a witch comes from the Bible in 1 Samuel chapter 28, as she summons the ghost of a dead king to foresee the future.

This however is not a Marvel thing. Witchcraft is not an inherently evil practice, it involves the elements and nature, while sorcerers believe magic is just available energy that can be reshaped in whatever they want, witches consider magic as a living thing that is an essential part of reality. According to Agatha Harkness magic exists wherever life is. At the end of the day the difference between sorcery and witchcraft is simply in the belief of the practitioners, they are two schools of magic with different practices
That's moreso a religious view of witchcraft tho. In most non western Christian cultures. Witch craft can be viewed as either being used for good or evil just the same as wizardry.

Crazy part is, when she was fighting the Illuminati she couldn’t even use all her power because she was possessing an alternate version of herself so her powers were struggling.
I love this movie, and I love that they got Sam Rami to direct it. I don't know that any other director could have done this one justice the way he did. Also, you've got to love the obligatory Bruce Campbell cameo in his movies XD

Just a little context in the comics Wanda and Pietro were taken and experimented on as infants by a mad scientist known as the High Evolutionary. It was from these experiments that they gained their unique powers. All of this happened on Mount Wundagore which makes sense why they would wanna introduce it to the MCU as a place that holds a significance to Wanda

A cape with a collar is called a cloak. Doctor Strange has the Cloak of Levitation.
The Illuminati is made up of leaders from each major team: the X-Men, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Inhumans (featured in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Inhumans series), as well as the Sorcerer Supreme and Captain Marvel.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was good and got even better as it went on. I am a Marvel fan and liked how they did the series. The Octobers might like it.

If you don't see that dead body then they are not dead. So I think Wanda is coming back. She has become a huge and popular MCU character, and she was the main reason a lot of people went to see that movie. Even I was one of those people who went to see Multiverse of Madness because of Wanda

Black Bolt is from the Inhumans. They did a one season show about them on ABC quite a while back that is not considered canon (even though they use the same actor to play his variant in this movie). As a Marvel fan, I would recommend that you check it out just because it's part of the zeitgeist so to speak, but it is not considered canon and, frankly, it's really not that great of quality if we're being honest. People were pretty disappointed with it. I still recommend watching it, though.

1. "What's the difference y'all between sorcery and witchcraft?"
In a broader sense, the term 'Sorcery' is actually a generic term to which witchcraft, wizardry and other forms of magic belong. But this term is hardly ever used in the MCU because they prefer the term 'Mystic Arts'. But the Sorcery that Wong was talking about is Eldritch Magic. They used the former to call it mystic art instead of the latter. Even the Ancient One, is calling the magic she teaches as 'Sorcery', instead of Eldritch Magic.
Eldritch Magic (Sorcery) - is the form of magic (mystic art) the Ancient One, Dr. Strange, Wong and everyone else in Kamar-taj practice. This magic is done by harnessing energies drawn from their own or other dimensions of the multiverse in order to cast spells and generate shields or weapons. suffice to say, this magic doesn't require anything of them other than being a conduit. The power (magical energy) that is used to perform this magic is not innately theirs, it is borrowed. That is why anyone can learn this magic and develop aptitude without requiring affinity to use it.
Witchcraft - is another form of magic that are exclusive to certain individuals called witches and warlocks. This mystic art includes runecraft, in which a unit of magic called spell is cast in the form of symbols or characters. In this case, you have to be born a witch/warlock in order to become one. In the comics, the community of witches/warlock have their own Goddess to whom they dedicate their craft and is the one responsible for keeping this mystic art. But in some cases there are witches who serves other beings such as Chthon and Set who, in return, grant them power to perform higher forms (spells) of this magic that can not be achieved through a witch's capacity only.
It is also important to note that Wanda possesses two mystic arts in her arsenal: Witchcraft and Chaos Magic. The two are different. In the comics, Chaos Magic is stated to be the first and the most powerful form of magic that allows its user to tap into the chaotic forces of the universe, which can then be used to change the natural order of things such as reality alteration, manipulation of time, resurrection and reconstruct the very fabric of existence (e.g., creating a living being out of nothing and creating an entirely new reality/universe). Reminder, that all of these abilities came from Wanda which are what she showed in the comics. furthermore, it was said that the nature of this magic is either, neither, or both creative and destructive.
2. "Her acting is spot on... in this. (Ms. October)" - Oh my god, thank you! Reactors complimenting the performance of Elizabeth in this movie is hard to come by among other reactors on RUclips, because they were too focused on the flaws of the movie. I mean, I'll admit, the writers have done a terrible job in creating the whole plot, but one thing that makes this movie worth watching, is the wonderful work the actors/actresses have invested. I actually sometimes imitate Elizabeth Olsen and Kathryn Hahn's lines and facial expressions. I used them as a way for me to practice my English orally.
3. "Wundagore? (Ms. October)" - is the place in which Wanda (Comics) was experimented on by the High Evolutionary, instead of Baron von Strucker. Wanda had unknowingly formed a connection with Chthon (Elder God of Chaos), by giving her a portion of his energy in hopes that Wanda would become his future vessel. As a result, this connection established her affinity to Chaos Magic.
Her name is Clea, she is related to Dormammu, and eventually becomes Mrs Strange
That line "that's what every mother does" while it is sweet, that's also a line where you're like "Oh... she's completely insane...."

Also, I'm sure you've already heard the news about Avengers: The Kang Dynasty being cancelled and replaced by Avengers: Doomsday. Well, after The Kang Dynasty's cancellation, the full plot of what it would have been was "leaked." Pretty much none of it is relevant now, but one detail that was going to be revealed regarded the Darkhold:
The Darkhold would have been revealed to have been authored by one of the Kang variants, serving as a "barrier" of sorts to the Multiverse, ensuring that no one unworthy of such power could access the Multiverse (and thus reach the Kangs).
In the comics, the Darkhold was authored by an Elder God* named Chthon.
*In Marvel, there are multiple levels of deities. Simply put, from the bottom:
- Ordinary mortals (Humans and aliens)
- "Gods" (like Thor, Odin, Loki, Hela, Bast, Konshu, Zeus, etc.)
- Elder Gods (primordial, Cosmic-created Earth deities)
- Cosmic Beings
- Multiversal Beings (like Celestials)
- Living Tribunal (seen in this movie for a brief instant)
- The One Above All (the most literal absolute God of the Marvel Multiverse, which in the comics usually looks like Stan Lee)
And since it came up in this movie, I also want to explain Chaos Magic.
Put simply, "Chaos Magic" is actually the original, very first form of magic to exist. In modern times, "Chaos Magic" is believe to just be old, primitive, useless magic- something that modern sorcery has grown beyond. But that isn't true. That's why it's SO much stronger than even the Sorcerer Supreme's magic.
Additionally, in the comics, Wanda Maximoff/The Scarlet Witch was born on Wundagore Mountain, where the dying Elder God Chthon gave her a sliver of his Chaos Magic, with the intention of eventually resurrecting through her as his vessel.
The green minotaur is Rintrah, one of Doctor Strange's students from Marvel Comics.
The "Cycloptopus" is known in the comics as Shuma Gorath an ancient demonic being and longtime foe of Dr. Strange. They referred to it as Giganto in the MCU for copyright reasons. 😂
A male witch is a warlock. They use wands as a focus. Wizards use staffs. Like Gandalf or Saruman.
The green skinned minotaur is Rintrah an extra-dimensionsal being from the planet R'Vaal. A disciple at Kamar Taj.
The Darkhold is the Book of the Damned and it corrupts whoever possesses it. That is why Wanda went bad. The Darkhold was created by C'Thon an Eldritch demon Lord. It is pure chaos magic. Wanda uses chaos magic. So it was in essence made for her as a means to grant C'Thon the ability to enter our dimension. 😮
Pizza Poppa is played by Director Sam Raimi's longtime friend and ally Bruce Campbell (Ash in the Evil Dead franchise) who made cameos in all three of the Raimi / Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies. Spider-Man 1 as the wrestling announcer, Spider-Man 2 as the Theater Usher and in Spider-Man 3 as the restaurant Maitre 'D. 😅
Technically all the numbered universes are part of the Marvel Multiverse. "616" is the mainline continuity universe though. 😂
John Krasynski was recommended by fans in fanart to play Reed Richards as Mr. Fantastic. This was a nod by Marvel to the fans. Monica Rambeaux was the second version of Captain Marvel in the comics back in the 80's. The Professor X shown here played by Patrick Stewart is based not on the X-Men movies but the Fox animated X-Men cartoon of the 90's. "Forkhead Guy" is better known as Blackagar Boltagon or Black Bolt. Leader of the inhumans. Created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee in the pages of the Fantastic Four. Black Bolt can destroy anything with a spoken word.
Anson Mount who plays Black Bolt also starred in an Inhumans mini-series which sadly did not do well. He also plays Captain Pike in the Kurtzman Trek show Strange New Worlds as well as Star Trek Discovery its predecessor.

Just to clear this up, sorcerers can be anyone. Its an art that can be learned by humans, mutants or any species alike. Witches are born with magic, it comes naturally to them it IS 2nd nature. And in marvel the term "warlock" isn't used much. Wanda's son "Billy" in the comics states that the term warlock is stupid, and he'd rather just be called a witch.

One thing I find really funny is the vase Christine is holding as she burns up the evil spirits, is the same vase Steven grabs in the first movie, when the sanctum is attacked by the followers of dormmamu. the bad guy pauses for a moment and says "you don't know how to use that thing, do you?" And the battle commences. Now we see what it's capable of 🤣

So technically can anyone be a sorcerer or only like the few electives either gifts of her own cus she has multiverse powers especially super strength and others 1:06:38 confused on how Captain Chavez becomes the next Dr Strange but having multiverse powers and learning sorcerery magic makes sense and will make her later on the chosen one after Dr Strange or if they’ll both be the chosen one together cus Dr Strange barely used 1% of his magic on Scarlet witch and later on in “What If Marvel MCU” he’s way powerful and he shows his true potential cus Dr Strange is godlike but Scarlet Witch is as well but if Dr Strange actually tried and used his full potential the fight would’ve been way more interesting not unless he hasn’t figured out his true potential powers 1:09:40 I believe in the comics her and Dr Strange are husband and wife and are married Charlize Theron

I really liked this movie. Especially how they shot a lot of Wanda's scenes like a horror movie almost. That's one of Sam Raimie's signatures, and he did it really well in this movie. A lot of people expect everything to be as epic and big as Avengers Infiniti War and End Game, but everything can't be on that huge of a level. We gotta give them time to build up the other storylines.

She will coincide with the Young Avengers. In the comic book X-Men world, Professor X due to long connection with Magneto is like Wanda’s uncle. He’s had to do mental work with her in some famous & serious situations. For years as Magneto’s daughter she fought against the X-Men. She & Jean Grey so not get along. Wanda has always been on the hero-antihero-villain line. In some telling Wanda was a mutant that was later written to be a Magic user. Then she became a student of Dr Strange. She is always also in every retelling connected to Cthonn & Wundagore Mountain. The Illuminati in Marvel usually include Dr. Strange. The woman at the end is Strange’s classic wife, Clea who is a powerful magic user. There is an Inhumans show. This is Black Bolt from that show. A lot of people don’t like it. Like the Eternals they have been in the Marvel Universe. They were a big part of the series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Pizza Pappa is played by Bruce Campbell who also has stared in or cameo ed in many of the directors films including his first movie Evil Dead. Notably he was the wrestling announcer in Spiderman, the usher in Spiderman 2 and the french guy at the restaurant in Spiderman 3.
Guys, I know you don't like to skip ahead but the Agatha All Along series starts on September 18 and runs through mid October. The perfect time to watch it as it happens. As far as I can tell, you don't have to watch anything else since you have seen WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness. Just a suggestion to watch along live as we all see Agatha All Along for the first time. It's right before Halloween and please, please, please, I beg of you watch Werewolf by Night before Halloween. No prior shows necessary to watch that. It's a stand alone show.
BLACKBOLT was an INHUMAN, there was an inhuman tv show but it deviated so much from the source material that's why it was cancelled.

I hate how they did Wanda‘s character in this movie. I understand she had the darkhold, and it corrupted her mind but everything she did in this movie negates the entire series of WandaVision. I really wish they would’ve done Wanda better this basically destroyed her entire character arc to this point and made it pointless
