I'm from Mexico, when I saw the changes made to Namor I was super excited, a lot of ppl got excited in my country, but sadly Tenoch Huerta is hated by the conservatives in my country cuz he has called out the colorism and racism present in Mexican media, how whitexicans get the movie opportunities and push while the more dark skinned Mexican artists get the boot.
And in the end the world loved Tenoch Huerta, the racists are angry, so bad they haven't talked about the movie and how popular he has become worldwide, there's a saying in Mexico that the real talent dont get appreaciated in our country but find respect and admiration outside of it, and honestly it's a shame but more power to my paisanos who work their ass off to get the same benefits our whitexican counterparts get on the daily.

Shuri was vengeful from the start of the movie so I don't feel like it was rushed at all. That's why her burning the clothes at the end is such a release because she refused to do it at the start. She didn't start being vengeful after the Queen died, that just set her off to take action.

When Shuri sees Killmonger in the ancestral plane, it made sense to me. She is a logical thinker and doesn't believe in the traditions...but after her conversation with Namar, I personally think that she may have drawn parallels between him and Killmonger. Both were not complete villains, just not going about doing things the right way.

    • @MsMojo014

It made sense to me. She wanted revenge whether she wanted to admit it or not and when Killmonger explained it all came together… And they also did a good with displaying her anger and vengeance early on in the movie so it didn’t come out of nowhere.

    • @diegofonseca6708
      @diegofonseca6708 Год назад +19

That’s not why she saw him fam… she saw HIM because her heart was full of vengeance and fury deep down even though she was sorta trying to hide it. Has nothing to do with “logic”. But in the end her mother comes thru and appears before her when Shuri has doubts about erasing Namor permanently. This was when The late queen speaks to her and reminds Shuri that her heart is like how her late brother’s was- noble and merciful. Diplomatic.

I have to disagree with the comment on Shuri becoming black panther to quickly purely because everything is set up that way for Shuri. In the beginning she doesn't care to try to recreate the heart shaped herb anymore because the person she was trying to create it for is gone, so why try anymore. Like she said " I was trying to save my brother with the herb, not the black panther", as well as, it all her attempt have been unsuccessful. It wasn't until she went to Talokan where Namor gave her his mothers vibranium made bracelets, that she actually had the tools to recreate the herb. Though again she is not thinking about that until Namor kills her mom, and he says he is coming back to kill everyone else does she actively start to create the herb.To become black panther because she has a reason to now. She had to go on this journey to become black panther. The thing about this movie is that it's a stand alone movie just like the first one was, but this movie is not trying to be part of the MCU. It's about showing grief and how these characters are handling it. It's more a dedication to Chadwick so everyone can grieve, than a kick butt Marvel movie.

Talokan mirrors wakanda in a lot of ways. It obviously takes inspiration from the real world. Where black and brown people were conquered by colonialism. Namor and black panther have a very complicated relationship. They’re enemies most of the time but have been Allie’s before. So it looks like they are keeping that tradition in the movies.

    1. Vibranium didn't land in America, throughout history it had been stolen here and there and sold on the black market.
It's not a hard deduction that that's how Howard Stark got a hold of it in the 40's.
The script gave the characters room to breathe and mourn the titled character.
Shuri went through the stages of grief.
So to me, they took the right amount of time before putting her into the suit.
With her mother gone, she was the last of her royal family and had no choice but to step in her role as leader.
That's almost every hero's origin story. Important family members die and then you're left to pick up the pieces and fight the good fight.
By the time they make it to Avengers 5 or 6 that little boy will probably be around 14 to 16 yrs old.
Tony's daughter would probably be 2 yrs younger than him.
This also means Thor's adopted daughter will be their age range.
So Scott's kid, Clint's protege, Ms. Marvel, Monica, Peter Parker, Groot's son, Bruce's kid, She Hulk, Wanda's twins, will all be the next generation or rather the Young Avengers.

This movie made me feel so many emotions as somebody who has a big brother and would do anything for I definitely see why shuri was filled with no much hate, she had the tech and knowledge and couldn’t save him (yes I know he was gone in real life) but I could see how hurt a sister would be she has to carry the family she has left plus be the leader they need and it felt so real when they cried at his funeral they lost a real true king, they did this movie and Chad so much justice ❤ wakanda forever… also I cried like a freaking baby and I believe the story isn’t over so I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for our new queen and black panther

I think this was a good movie but I was hoping it would be on black panther 1 level or over, I think namor and the world building was really well fleshed out and the dynamics and acting was top tier between the characters.
Although this movie is far from perfect with writing, character development, a few wonky cgi shots and handling clear messages. I'll give it a 7.8/10
It's a good movie that honors Chadwick and sets the new order of wakanda and their placement, but as a stand alone movie it has its issues.

I like Namor more than Aquaman too even tho he can be a bit of a hothead traditionally. Namor had an affair with Ms. Invisible 😂, he was apart of the Illuminati, and the one person the hulk didn't fight when he returned from Sicarr to get revenge after his son died.

Namor and invisible woman never had an affair that’s only in the ultimate universe. in the main 616 comics namor is very possessive and toxic towards invisible woman who just shows him kindness like everyone else but, she don’t be with the bs like when bro tried to kidnap her she beat bro ass one time before so the namor and invisible woman affair shit is really just misconceptions from who never read the source material no offense 🫡
