One cool thing to notice is how Shang-Chi and
his father used the Rings. His father WORE them and used them as an extension of his arms,
controlling them because that is what he desired: Control.
Shang-Chi used them in tandem with his fighting style. They floated around him. He didn't try to
control them. He was one with them, like nature.
Thus they were more powerful.
Yes yes. That even translates to the energy the rings emit. His father's energy is chaotic and wild with the lighting spanning out. Shang-Chi's is clearly more controlled and fluid, less volatile. Probably reflects the personality and psyche of the user. Very nicely done.

Shang chi did both, embracing his father and his mothers sides within him. The final move to destroy the evil dragon things was a mixture of both styles as well

I cant believe there are people that didnt like this movie. The fighting scenes have those Jackie Chan style vibes with them using the environments and all that to fight and the cable jumps ah man its so good. One of my favorites

Fr this movie is one of my favorite movies ever
Forphase 4, this was my top 1 film. No way Home just a sequel and fan service so I choose Shang Chi. However the only let down for me was final act when those monsters CGI fight. I wish they just stick with those hand to hand kung fu fight.
ikr My sister is a giant Marvel fan, but when this movie came it she claimed that she didn't wanna see it no matter how much I told her it was awesome. Later she claims she "tried" to watch it but didn't get very far into it. Man, I think she is weird! This movie was amazing!
Shang-chi's fighting style is such a wonderful combination of his dad's more aggressive and hard movements and his mom's more fluid Tai Chi. Embracing both his mom and dad is what helped him beat Wenwu in the end. Beautiful fighting choreography.

When Jon Jon says, “I speak ABC,” he means American-born Chinese, basically Chinglish. It got a good chuckle out of all the Asians in the audience but most everyone else just assumes it means English.

This movie really made me believe that a live-action DBZ/Pokemon/ATLA movie would be very possible and could be done very well with the right people behind it.

@@kinjalroy9407 yup and fun fact in this movie aqwafina's brother has been officially casted as Zuko and I think the young shang chi that we seen whooping ass in training will also have a role in the live action ATLA by netflix .
I dont want a live action DBZ movie. They'd just cast all white actors, even for Vegetta. Don't ruin this great series with white washed trash

So here are the fun facts:
1.The fight choreographers are Andy Cheng and Brad Allen, both members of Jackie Chans stunt team. Brad Allen passed away months before the movie released.
2. Simu Liu(Shang-Chi's Actor) trained with the Martial Club Stunt Team to prepare for the role. With member Andy Le playing Death Dealer(Dude with the cool mask and daggers) and doubling Young Shang.
3. The elder archer who Katie was trying to impress is Yuen Wah, a renowned member of the circus troupe "7 Little Fortunes" from the Chinese Peking Opera, in which Jackie was also a member.
4. The rings were originally just like jewelry for fingers. In the film, they incorporated the rings to be similar to the training rings used for Shaolin and Hung Gar conditioning.
One of my favorite parts of this film is the soundtrack. The OST has 2 tracks that when played together, is the 3rd track. One song is called "Your Father" and the other "Your Mother" and when played together, is the song "Xu Shang-Chi" Joel P West really nailed it for the score.
This movie’s action is everything we wish we could have from a live action anime adaptation.

One theory is that the mafia boss that killed Shang's mom was Katy's grandfather and even though Shang said he did not go through with it, he actually did kill him but felt horrible afterwards and he did not want to become a revenge filled hateful person like his dad, so instead of going back to his father, Shang stayed and befriended Katy and helped with her family so that he could repent...i think at one point this was already in the script and even Awkwafina mentioned her character's granddad in interviews, so that must have been a plot point some time in editing process but it eventually got cut because it would have made the final act even more complex with way more personal drama with Shnag's family drama already going on..and i believe it is for the best. i think they can explore this in the sequel where if it comes out that he did kill Katy's granddad, how would their relationship affect from this revelation and would make up for a good personal drama for Shang Chi besides the villain plot

i saw this movie 8 times in theaters. It was the first ever 4DX movie I’ve ever seen and it is my favorite MCU movie. Shang-Chi is perfect.

Yeah man, this movie was so good on the big screen, the 3rd act just his different in the cinema. Also definitely best thing they did in phase 4.
So satisfying that one of my favorite superheroes is finally getting some shine. Shang Chi is just incredible! 🙏🏽💪

People do my give this movie enough credit. This was a dope movie. The fight scenes were great and they varied the scale without losing any quality. The CGI was great.

I feel for Wenwu so much. Villain or not, he loved his wife so so much he was even willing to give up power for her. Yes we can say ur children should be enough, but when you have that kind of true love, unfortunately sometimes even your children cannot replace your soulmate.

Wellz was right that Shang Chi would've been a bigger hit had it not come out during the pandemic. In Sept 2021, people were still not going to the movies like that plus because Shang Chi is not a well known character most people wanted to wait till it comes on Disney plus. I definitely will see the second one in the theaters.
