Now if he had trained with Steve so he could be skilled and strong...Thanos wouldn't have been ready for that

Vision only looks trash but that's because the person tasked to fight him, Corvus Glaive, just so happens to be the perfect counter for him. The weapon, Glaive, prevents Vision from phasing. So even if Vision chooses to phase or harden his body, the weapon will always pierce him. Not only that but it can even cut and refract his laser beam, so there's literally not much he can do against Corvus Glaive besides throw hands.

But i guess you have a point, they barely pay attention to important information and just focus on the fights and all the cool shit.
